LITHIUM RECOVERY DEVICE AND LITHIUM RECOVERY METHOD
A lithium recovery device equipped with a processing tank partitioned into a supply tank and a recovery tank by a lithium ion-conducting electrolyte film, and which, in order to selectively move Li+ to an aqueous solution in the recovery tank from an aqueous solution in the supply tank containing Li+ and metal ions Mn+ which are different therefrom, is also equipped with a first power supply connected between porous-structure electrodes provided so as to respectively contact both surfaces of the electrolyte film with the electrode on the supply tank side as the positive electrode, and a second power supply which connects in series to the negative electrode of the first power supply and in which said negative electrode is connected to a sub-electrode provided at a distance from the electrolyte film inside the recovery tank, wherein the second power supply applies a voltage so as to cause a current to flow from the positive electrode to the electrode.
Apparatus and process for separation and selective recomposition of ions
A device and process are disclosed for the separate removal of oppositely charged ions from electrolyte solutions and recombining them to form new chemical compositions. The invention provides the ability to create multiple ion flow channels and then form new chemical compositions therefrom. The process is accomplished by selectively combining oppositely charged ions of choice from different electrolyte solutions via the capacitive behavior of high electrical capacitance electrodes confined in insulated containers.
Nutrient extraction and recovery device for isolation and separation of target products from animal produced waste streams
The present invention provides for nutrient extraction and recovery devices that use the Donnan Membrane Principle (DMP) to cause spontaneous separation of dissolved ions along electrochemical potential gradients, wherein anions and cations such as H.sub.2PO.sub.4.sup.?, HPO.sub.4.sup.2?, PO.sub.4.sup.3?, Mg.sup.2+, Ca.sup.2+, NH.sub.4.sup.+, and K.sup.+ are moved from manure containing waste streams through cation and anion exchange membranes into a recovery stream thereby precipitating target compounds including but not limited to struvite, potassium struvite and hydroxyapatite.
ION-EXCHANGE MEMBRANE
A polymerizable composition for forming an ion-exchange resin precursor, the polymerizable composition containing a monomer component and polyethylene particles in an amount of 50 to 120 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the monomer component, wherein the monomer component contains an aromatic monomer for introducing ion-exchange groups and a nitrogen-containing aliphatic monomer, the nitrogen-containing aliphatic monomer being present in an amount of 10 to 35% by mass in said monomer component. An ion-exchange membrane is produced by applying the polymerizable composition onto a polyolefin type filament base material and polymerizing the polymerizable composition to form an ion-exchange resin precursor and, thereafter, introducing ion-exchange groups into the precursor.
Polymer Films
A polymer film obtainable from curing a composition comprising: (a) a curable ionic compound comprising a bis(sulfonyl)imide group; and (b) a curable non-ionic compound comprising at least 4 vinyl groups.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING ORGANIC ACID PRODUCTS FROM A MULTICOMPONENT FEED SOLUTION
A system for recovering organic acid products from a multicomponent feed solution includes: a first electrode; a second electrode positioned in opposition to the first electrode; a cation exchange membrane and an anion exchange membrane disposed between the first and second electrodes, thereby defining a feed channel extending between the cation and anion exchange membranes for delivery of a multicomponent feed solution including an organic acid and an inorganic salt; a functionalized membrane disposed between the cation or anion exchange membrane and the first or second electrode, thereby defining an accumulating channel extending between the cation or anion exchange membrane and the functionalized membrane for collecting charged organic species separated from the multicomponent feed solution; and a redox channel containing the first and second electrodes and being separated from the feed and accumulating channels by the cation or anion exchange membrane and the functionalized membrane.

Device and method for the electrodeionization of a liquid
A device for the electrodeionization of a sample liquid. The device has an anode chamber having two openings and an anode, a cathode chamber having two openings and a cathode, and a treatment chamber, that is arranged between the anode chamber and the cathode chamber and has two openings and ion exchanger. The anode chamber and the cathode chamber are separated from the treatment chamber in each case by a permselective membrane and an energy source is operatively connected to the anode and the cathode. In addition, a method for the electrodeionization of a sample liquid is provided.
