Method of performing droplet-based assays
Method of performing a droplet-based assay. The method may include obtaining droplets encapsulated by an immiscible liquid and packed closely together in a monolayer, performing a reaction in the droplets while packed closely together in the monolayer; and collecting data related to an analyte from a plurality of the droplets while the droplets remain closely packed together in the monolayer.
MIXING DEVICE AND LIQUID MIXING METHOD
The disclosure relates to a mixing device and a liquid mixing method. The mixing device comprises a first clamping assembly, a second clamping assembly and a driving assembly, the first clamping assembly is used for fixing a first container containing a first liquid, the second clamping assembly is used for fixing a second container containing a second liquid, the first container and the second container are in communication, the driving assembly drives the first liquid and the second liquid to flow back and forth between the first container and the second container to complete a predetermined degree of mixing to form a third liquid. The flow speed of the first liquid and the second liquid driven by the driving assembly is accurately controlled, so that an iodized oil emulsion with better physical and chemical characteristics is prepared, and an emulsion with better emulsifying effect and treatment effect is obtained.
DROPLET-BASED ASSAY SYSTEM
System for performing a flow-based assay. The system may comprise a droplet generator to produce an emulsion including droplets in a carrier fluid. The system also may comprise a thermocycler including two or more temperature-controlled zones and also including a channel connected to the droplet generator for receiving the emulsion. The channel may form a single-pass continuous fluid route traversing the temperature-controlled zones multiple times, such that droplets passing through the channel are thermally cycled. The system further may comprise a detection station downstream from the thermocycler and configured to detect a signal from the droplets after such droplets have been thermally cycled by passing through the channel.
Device for mixing water and diesel oil, apparatus and process for producing a water/diesel oil micro-emulsion
An apparatus and process for preparing a water/diesel oil micro-emulsion including a diesel oil feeding unit, an emulsifying composition feeding unit, a water feeding unit, and a mixing tank in fluid communication therewith. A duct extends along main direction (X-X) and presents an inlet opening, outlet nozzle, and a cone shaped septum coaxial with respect to the main direction (X-X) and tapers towards the outlet nozzle. A plurality of holes is in the conical wall of the septum and a plurality of lamellae is arranged in the duct downstream of the septum. The plurality of lamellae creates a plurality of small chambers. Holes and the small chambers delimit a labyrinth passageway for liquid flowing through the duct towards the outlet nozzle. A batch is recirculated through the mixing tank and a conduit including a mixing device and then the fuel micro-emulsion batch is discharged.
MICROFLUIDIC MODULE FOR CO-ENCAPSULATION IN DROPLETS
A microfluidic module for co-encapsulation in droplets of two populations of particles may include first and second modules for sorting the two populations. The modules may have their first outlets including first obstructive valves configured to at least partially obstruct the first outlets. The first outlets may be fluidly connected to a fusion module, including a fusion module means for merging at least one droplet from the first droplet population and at least one droplet from the second droplet population into a merged droplet comprising the two population of particles, and a control unit for controlling the first obstructive valves from information originating from a first and second module detection portion located upstream of the first outlets.
Pickering emulsion composition using polyimide particles and preparation method thereof
The present invention relates to a pickering emulsion composition using polyimide particles and a method for preparing the same. The pickering emulsion stabilized by the polyimide particles according to the present invention has a very stable dispersed phase and does not cause flocculation, creaming, coalescence and phase separation even after a long time, and has an advantage of being capable of forming both an oil-in-water type emulsion and a water-in-oil type emulsion. Further, the polyimide particles used in the present invention can be synthesized in a simple manner and have partial wettability without the surface treatment and pH control so that they can be easily used for the emulsion stabilization.
