A vacuum mixing system for the mixing of polymethylmethacrylate bone cement, comprising at least one cartridge (4) having an evacuable internal space for mixing of the bone cement, a pump (18) for generating a negative pressure, and a connecting conduit (12) connecting the internal space of the at least one cartridge (4) to the pump (18) for generating a negative pressure, an integrated energy reservoir (28) for driving the pump (18) that is or can be connected to the pump (18) and has energy for at least one pumping process of the pump (18) stored in it, whereby a negative pressure can be generated by means of the pump (18) during the pumping process, which negative pressure can be used to evacuate gas from the internal space of the at least one cartridge (4) through the connecting conduit (12).
BONE CEMENT MIXING CARTRIDGE AND METHOD OF USE
A container for bone cement includes a first member defining a chamber, which contains a first ingredient. The chamber also includes a second member movably coupled to the first member. The second member includes a mixing device that is movably disposed within the first chamber, and the second member defines a second chamber containing a second ingredient. The container additional includes an opening device that selectively opens the second chamber and allows the second ingredient to enter from the second chamber into the first chamber. The mixing device is movable within the first chamber to promote mixing of the first ingredient and the second ingredient to prepare the bone cement. A corresponding method of preparing bone cement is also disclosed.

Device for the mixing of polymethylmethacrylate bone cement and for storing a monomer liquid and a cement powder as starting components of the bone cement, comprising a cartridge having an internal space closed on one side by a mobile dispensing plunger; a monomer container for a monomer liquid and/or a connector for attachment of a monomer container which can be opened in the device so that the monomer liquid flows from the monomer container into the device; and a connecting conduit through which the monomer liquid can be guided into the internal space of the cartridge; having a pumping plunger that can be shifted axially in the hollow cylinder arranged in the hollow cylinder, which can be used to push monomer liquid from the hollow cylinder through the connecting conduit into the internal space of the cartridge by actuating the pumping plunger.
BONE CEMENT APPLICATION DEVICE WITH CLOSURE ON THE DELIVERY PLUNGER
One aspect relates to a device for producing a bone cement paste from a monomer liquid and a cement powder as parent components of the bone cement paste and for delivering the mixed bone cement paste, the device having a cartridge having a cylindrical interior. The interior of the cartridge is closed on the front side except for a delivery opening for expelling the bone cement paste. A delivery plunger is arranged in the interior of the cartridge. The cement powder is arranged in the interior of the cartridge. A closure is arranged on the front side of the delivery plunger. The closure closes the delivery opening when the delivery plunger is pressed against the front side of the interior of the cartridge. The closure blocks a further movement of the delivery plunger so that the delivery plunger is spaced from the front side of the interior of the cartridge at least in some areas and a dead volume remains in the interior of the cartridge when the delivery plunger is pressed against the front side of the interior of the cartridge.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING FLUID ACCURACY AND BACKFLOW COMPENSATION
A method for controlling fluid ratio accuracy during a dual flow injection with a powered injection system is described. The method includes predicting a first capacitance volume of a first syringe comprising a first medical fluid and a second capacitance volume of a second syringe comprising a second medical fluid with a first capacitance correction factor and a second capacitance correction factor, respectively, selecting a ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid to be administered to a patient in the dual flow injection, determining a relative acceleration ratio of a first piston of the first syringe and a second piston of a second syringe based on the predicted first capacitance volume and the predicted second capacitance volume, wherein the relative acceleration ratio is selected to maintain the selected ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid during the dual flow injection, and injecting a mixture of a first medical fluid and a second medical fluid having the selected ratio with the powered injection system.
DEVICE FOR STORAGE, MIXING AND DISPENSING OF A BONE CEMENT, AND PERTINENT METHOD
A device for storage of a monomer liquid and a cement powder as starting components of a bone cement dough and for mixing the starting components, and for dispensing the mixed bone cement dough. The device includes a receptacle in which a monomer liquid container is arranged and a cartridge containing the cement powder. A feed plunger is arranged in the receptacle. A dispensing plunger is arranged between the monomer liquid container and the cement powder in the cartridge. The feed plunger can be punctured by a rod when motion of the feed plunger is blocked, whereby the dispensing plunger is propelled by propelling the rod further through the blocked and punctured feed plunger.
Also provided are an extrusion device for propelling a feed plunger and a dispensing plunger of a device for mixing of a bone cement dough, and a method for the production of a bone cement dough.
TWO-PART STORAGE AND MIXING DEVICE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A BONE CEMENT, AND PERTINENT METHOD
A storage and mixing device for the production of a bone cement dough from a monomer liquid and a cement powder as starting components of the bone cement. The storage and mixing device includes: (1) a receptacle having a monomer liquid container which contains the monomer liquid, (2) a cartridge containing the cement powder, (3) a feed plunger, which is accessible from a rear side of the receptacle, arranged in the receptacle, and movable in a longitudinal direction of the receptacle, and (4) a dispensing plunger which is arranged in the cartridge and shiftable in a longitudinal direction inside of the cartridge. The front side of the receptacle is connected or connectable to the rear side of the cartridge with a first securing element on the rear side of the receptacle and a second securing element on the rear side of the cartridge.
The invention also relates to a method for the production of a bone cement dough, in particular of a pasty polymethylmethacrylate bone cement dough, whereby the bone cement dough is produced from a cement powder and a monomer liquid through the use of a storage and mixing device.
SAMPLE PRETREATMENT MODULE AND PRETREATMENT METHOD USING THE SAME
Disclosed are a sample pretreatment module and a sample pretreatment method using the same. The sample pretreatment module including: a body having a chamber for accommodating a sample therein; a cap coupled to one end of the body; a dotting substrate provided to have at least some portion of it dotted with the reagent and be inserted into the chamber; a discharge tip movably coupled to the other end of the body for discharging a sample accommodated in the chamber; a permanent magnet provided to be inserted in the chamber and mix the sample by rotating owing to a magnetic force acting in accordance with a change in a magnetic field externally applied; and a moving unit movably provided in the cap and pressing the sample in the chamber according to the movement to discharge the sample to the outside.
Vacuum cementing system
A vacuum cementing system has at least one cement powder cartridge and a container-opening system. The container-opening system has at least one container for at least one liquid and/or at least one powder, an opening device, and an outlet opening for applying a negative pressure. When a negative pressure is being applied, the opening device is mobile relative to at least a part of the at least one container. The vacuum cementing system has a means for connecting the cement powder cartridge to the at least one container and utilizes necessary vacuum for automatically opening the at least one container.
