Stirring paddle for isothermal titration calorimetry
10337933 · 2019-07-02 · ·

A stirring paddle for isothermal titration calorimetry includes a blade secured to one end of a shaft. The blade has an edge and a pair of opposing surfaces. A lip extends from the edge and forms a non-zero angle with respect to the opposing surfaces. In some embodiments, the blade has a twisted rectangular shape defined by a pair of first opposing edges and a pair of second opposing edges. One of the first opposing edges is oriented at a rotation angle with respect to the shaft axis that is different than an orientation of the other first opposing edge with respect to the shaft axis. Advantageously, the stirring paddle achieves improved turbulent mixing of injections into liquid within a sample cell, resulting in shorter measurement times. The improved mixing efficiency allows the stirring paddle to be operated at a lower rotation rate.

Seed treatment method incorporating an incline mixing conveyor

A seed treatment system incorporates an incline conveyor to mix freshly treated seed. A metered seed flow is maintained. A treatment applicator positioned above a tail end of the incline conveyor applies a seed treatment to the metered seed flow to form a treated seed flow. The treated seed flow freefalls into a transition zone and pre-mixes before moving upward within the incline conveyor. An eddy may form within the treated seed flow due to a partial obstruction within the incline conveyor. A prescribed amount of the treated seed flow backflows into the eddy in a cascading manner. Backflow movement may be contrary to conveyance of a substantial amount of the treated seed up through the incline conveyor. The seed treatment distributes about the treated seed flow within the incline conveyor. The treated seed flow discharges with complete cleanout at a head end of the incline conveyor.

Reducing blinking pixels in a display includes detecting a first timing of activation of one or more emissive elements of the display, detecting a second timing of sensing pulses from a sensor arranged to detect radiation transmitted through the display, determining, based on the first timing and the second timing, a synchronized timing that staggers the activation of the one or more emissive elements of the display and the sensing pulses from the sensor, and dynamically altering, based on the determined synchronized timing, a subsequent timing of the sensing pulses from the sensor to reduce blinking of at least some of the pixels compared to blinking associated with the synchronized timing.

IMPELLER ASSEMBLY AND MIXING APPARATUS

The present application discloses an impeller assembly and a mixing apparatus, and relates to the technical field of solid and liquid mixing devices. The impeller assembly includes an impeller structure and a housing structure. The impeller structure includes a body, and a surface of the body is provided with a plurality of backward-skewed blades. A blade angle of each backward-skewed blade on any flow plane first decreases progressively and then increases progressively from an inlet to an outlet. A first baffle is disposed on a lower portion of the body. The housing structure includes a second baffle. The first baffle is provided with first guide slots, and the second baffle is provided with second guide slots. A fluid enters from the inlet at an upper portion of the body, flows along the surface of the body, and flows out through the outlet at a lower portion of the body and through the first guide slots and the second guide slots. A centerline of each first guide slot is deflected towards a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the impeller structure, and a centerline of each second guide slot is deflected towards the rotation direction of the impeller structure. The present application solves the problems of unstable discharge, large vibration and noise, and insufficient work efficiency.

MIXING CHAMBER

A mixing chamber for mixing a variety of dry ingredients with a liquid is disclosed. The mixing chamber has an accumulation chamber that evenly distributes ingredients as they pass a liquid spray nozzle, resulting in uniform hydration. The liquid may be sprayed at a variety of pressures to achieve varying levels of granule hydration to permit the manufacture of dough, batter, or other compositions. Even dry ingredients which are generally slow to absorb moisture may be rapidly and evenly hydrated without an excess of liquid. Process parameters, such as volume flow rate of the dry ingredients, can also be varied.
