FORMULATIONS AND METHODS FOR ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY FROM PRUNUS MAACKII PERIDERM

The present invention describes methods and formulations for protecting plants against various pathogens, involving the use of Prunus maackii materials. In some embodiments the biopesticide formulation comprises of at least one flavonoid such as 3,5,7-trihydroxy-6-methoxyflavone, 3,5,7-trihydroxy-6-methoxyflavanone or 5,7-dihydroxy-8-methoxyflavanone. The invention further provides a method of making the biopesticide by extracting a Prunus species with a solvent and formulating the composition using adjuvants, and kits for application of the biopesticide.

HERBAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF

The present invention relates to herbal compositions and method for preparing thereof. The herbal composition is derived from pulverizing at least two herbal materials selected from a group of herbal materials consisting of Panax ginseng, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Agrimonia pilosa, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, asparagus, and mushroom. The pulverized herbal materials are combined to obtain a mixed herbal powder which is then extracted with a solvent to obtain a concentrated herbal extract, wherein the concentrated herbal extract is dried to obtain a dry powder of the herbal compositions.

The foliage and stems of plant species from the family Rosacea, genus Prunus, yield natural pesticides when macerated. Hydrodistillation of macerated plant biomass yields a concentrated solution of organic volatile compounds that act synergistically as a natural pesticide, and as provided herein, also act synergistically as antimicrobial compounds. Volatile compounds liberated from Prunus biomass include 2-propanol, hexanal, trans-2-hexenal, 1-hexanol, cis-3-hexenol, mandelonitrile, benzoic acid, benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, hydrocyanic acid and others. These compounds may be removed from the distillate and reformulated to form a standard concentrated solution, with benzaldehyde, mandelonitrile and hydrogen cyanide being the major components. Provided herein are methods of using these pesticides as a broad-spectrum bactericide. Components of the extract may act alone or synergistically to control both gram positive and gram negative genera of bacteria.

A trichome and pistil maturing bud finisher plant treatment formula to which plants, pollinators, and humans respond favorably but which deters insects and contagions. The formulas include a series of edible spices claimed in specific ratios. The spices comprise food grade products manufactured for human consumption and specifically comprise Garlic, Ginger, Cinnamon, Turmeric, Clove, Black Pepper, Powdered Ancho Chili, Coriander, Cayenne, Cumin, Fenugreek, Nutmeg, and Oregano. In the bud finisher formula, these spices are mixed with potassium bicarbonate in a first container in relative quantities. Meanwhile, the bud finisher formula requires mixing sesame oil with apple cider vinegar, also in a particular ratio. The bud finisher formula matures pistils and trichomes. An alternative bud shield formula excludes the potassium bicarbonate and apple cider vinegar to also mature trichomes but matures pistils at a slower rate. After dilution the plant treatment formula is applied to all surfaces of the plant.

A barrier material is formed of an elastomeric polymer and a drying or volatile oil which may be desirably obtained from the genus or species of the plant being treated. The drying or volatile oil cures from the addition of oxygen to its organic compound to product crosslinking which enhances the rheological attributes of the barrier.
