Method for the photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide implementing a supported photocatalyst made from molybdenum sulfide or tungsten sulfide
The invention concerns a method for the photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide carried out in the liquid phase and/or in the gas phase under irradiation using a photocatalyst comprising a support made from alumina or silica or silica-alumina and nanoparticles of molybdenum sulfide or tungsten sulfide having a band gap greater than 2.3 eV, said method comprising the following steps: a) bringing a feedstock containing carbon dioxide and at least one sacrificial compound into contact with said photocatalyst, b) irradiating the photocatalyst with at least one source of irradiation producing at least one wavelength smaller than the width of the band gap of said photocatalyst so as to reduce the carbon dioxide and oxidise the sacrificial compound in the presence of said photocatalyst activated by said source of irradiation, in such a way as to produce an effluent containing, at least in part, C1 or above carbon-containing molecules, different from CO2.
Light-driven ion-pumping membrane systems
Dye-sensitized ion-pumping membranes and methods of preparing said membranes are described herein. A regenerative and reversible photoactive dye is covalently-bonded to membrane or separator for ion-pumping. The photoactive dye-functionalized membranes can be arranged with other ion-exchange membranes, which serve as selective contacts to afford photovoltaic action and therefore form a power-producing membrane that pumps ions for use in driving an ion-exchange or ion-transport process, such as desalination and electrodialysis.
Photo bioreactor for cold pasteurization of liquid food products and the use of the reactor
A system capable of a germicidal treatment of highly opaque liquids, featuring a filter, which prevents wavelengths above the UV-C spectrum reaching the liquid being treated, one or more spiral-shaped tubes extending from an inlet end to an outlet end creating a fluidic pathway, and one or more light sources illuminating the one or more spiral-shaped tubes, wherein the one or more light sources emit light in a wavelength range between 180-300 nm.
UV CURING SYSTEM WITH UV LAMP TROLLEY SYSTEM
A UV oven for curing an applied coating on a part, includes a housing having a top wall, a bottom wall, and side walls that enclose an interior volume of the housing. The UV oven further includes a first shutter and a second shutter located on the side walls and configured to be selectively opened to selectively allow the part to enter or exit the interior volume of the housing. The UV oven further includes a conveyor secured to the housing and having a surface on which the part may be supported and at least one UV lamp supported within the housing by a carriage that is movable with respect to the housing. A method of curing an applied coating on a part is further disclosed.
COMPOSITIONS AND FORMULATIONS FOR ENTRAPPING PROTEIN ON A SURFACE
A composition for measuring binding to HLA proteins has a substrate having a surface and a first array of HLA protein spots indirectly attached to the surface of the substrate. Each HLA protein within each spot is entrapped within a matrix that retains the native three-dimensional structure of the HLA protein while the HLA protein is indirectly attached to the surface. Also disclosed is a formulation to link protein to a solid support that has one or more proteins, a matrix, and one or more non-volatile water-soluble protein solvents, solutes, or combination thereof in an aqueous solution. The matrix is a cross-linked Oligo-dT network, a cross-linked Oligo-U network, a protein network having at least one protein, or a combination thereof.
Two stage methods for processing adhesives and related compositions
Methods for forming melt processable, actinic radiation polymerizable and crosslinkable adhesives are described. In certain versions, the adhesives or pre-adhesive compositions include two initiators and are polymerized and/or crosslinked by exposure to actinic radiation such as UV light or electron beam radiation. Also described are pre-adhesive compositions including polymerizable monomers, articles including the adhesives, and various methods and systems related to the adhesives and their application. In addition, various apparatuses are described for polymerizing or crosslinking the compositions.
STIRRING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A STIRRING DEVICE
A stirring device, in particular a reactor stirring device, comprises a radiation unit which is configured for irradiating a medium. wherein the stirring device comprises a guide tube unit which is configured for separating two opposing flows of the medium.
