Composite adsorbent material
The invention relates to composite adsorbent materials, and in particular, to highly porous carbon-based composite materials for the adsorption and stabilization of inorganic substances. The composite adsorbent material comprises a porous carbon carrier matrix and an adsorbent species, wherein the adsorbent species is precipitated within the pores of the carrier matrix. The invention extends to various uses of such adsorbent materials, for example in water purification, recovery of metals from waste streams and remediation applications, and where the adsorbant material is amended into soil, waste etc. for the purpose of breaking pollutant-receptor linkages.
Cartridges useful in cleaning dialysis solutions
Cartridges useful in regenerating or purifying dialysis solutions are described as well as methods to regenerate or purify spent dialysis solutions. Dialysis methods using the sorbent cartridges of the present invention are further described.
Oxygen absorbing agent composition and oxygen absorbing agent package
The present invention provides an oxygen absorbing agent composition comprising a compound (A) having two or more tetralin rings, and a transition metal catalyst.
Modular extraction apparatus
Apparatuses and methods for extracting desired chemical species including, without limitation, lithium, specific lithium species, and/or other chemical compounds from input flows in a modular unit. The input flows may be raw materials in which lithium metal and/or lithium species are dissolved and/or extracted. The apparatuses and methods may include daisy chain flow through separate tanks, a column array, and/or combinations thereof.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR REMOVING HOMOGENEOUS CATALYST-RELATED CONTAMINANTS PRESENT IN A HYDROCARBON PRODUCT
Methods and systems for removing homogeneous catalyst-related contaminants present in a hydrocarbon may utilize a supported heteropolyacid scavenger. For example, a process may comprise: contacting a supported heteropolyacid scavenger with a hydrocarbon product comprising a hydrocarbon and 100 ppm or greater of homogeneous catalyst-related contaminants; and adsorbing at least a portion of the homogeneous catalyst-related contaminants onto the supported heteropolyacid scavenger to yield a cleaned hydrocarbon product comprising the hydrocarbon and 10 ppm or less of the homogeneous catalyst-related contaminants.
SORBENT FOR DIALYSIS AND SORBENT SYSTEM FOR REGENERATIVE DIALYSIS
Disclosed herein is a material for use in sorbent-based dialysis, the material comprising: acidic and/or neutral cation exchange particles; alkaline anion exchange particles; and one or more of an alkali metal carbonate, a water insoluble alkaline earth metal carbonate, and a water insoluble polymeric ammonium carbonate. Also disclosed herein are uses of said material and its preparation.
SORBENT CARTRIDGE TO MEASURE SOLUTE CONCENTRATIONS
A sorbent based monitoring system for measuring the solute concentration of at least one component of a fluid. The system has a sorbent regeneration system for regeneration of the fluid and has a sorbent cartridge that has at least one material layer. The fluid is conveyed through the sorbent cartridge and contacts at least one sensor after having contacted at least one material layer.
Process for regeneration of spent zirconium phosphate for reuse in sorbent treatments
A method is provided for regenerating spent zirconium phosphate for reuse in sorbent dialysis treatments or other re-uses as a sorbent material. The method includes contacting spent zirconium phosphate with an aqueous disinfectant solution having at least one antimicrobial agent, and treating the resulting disinfected zirconium phosphate with an acidic solution to provide a treated zirconium phosphate that can be re-used as a sorbent material. Sorbent cartridge products containing the regenerated spent zirconium phosphate are also provided. Methods and systems for sorbent dialysis which re-use the regenerated zirconium phosphate such as part of sorbent cartridges, additionally are provided.
Dual flow sorbent cartridge
Disclosed are systems and methods for the performance of kidney replacement therapy having or using a dialyzer, control components, a sorbent cartridge with at least two separate flow paths, and fluid reservoirs configured to be of a weight and size suitable to be worn or carried by an individual requiring treatment. The system for performing kidney replacement therapy has a controlled compliance dialysis circuit, where a control pump controls the bi-directional movement of fluid across a dialysis membrane. The dialysis circuit and an extracorporeal circuit for circulating blood are in fluid communication through the dialysis membrane. The flux of fluid moving between the extracorporeal circuit and the dialysis circuit is modified by the rate at which the control pump is operating such that a rate of ultrafiltration and convective clearance can be controlled. The system provides for the monitoring of an inlet and outlet conductivity of the sorbent cartridge to provide a facility to quantify or monitor the removal of urea by the sorbent cartridge.
