Powder, method of producing powder and adsorption apparatus
The present invention provides that powder is mainly constituted from secondary particles of hydroxyapatite. The secondary particles are obtained by drying a slurry containing primary particles of hydroxyapatite and aggregates thereof and granulating the primary particles and the aggregates. A bulk density of the powder is 0.65 g/mL or more and a specific surface area of the secondary particles is 70 m.sup.2/g or more. The powder of the present invention has high strength and is capable of exhibiting superior adsorption capability when it is used for an adsorbent an adsorption apparatus has.
ADSORBENT AND ADSORPTION APPARATUS
[Problems] To provide a column-use adsorbent having an excellent balance of adsorption capacity and durability, and an adsorption apparatus.
[Means to solve problems] A column-use adsorbent made of powder of a porous particle group of hydroxyapatite or fluoroapatite formed by replacing at least part of a hydroxyl group of hydroxyapatite with fluorine atom, the porous particle group being a group of a plurality of porous particles having different particle sizes, the porous particle group meeting the condition of D.sub.Av×45/100≤D.sub.10≤D.sub.Av×75/100, in which D.sub.Av (μm) is an average particle size, and D.sub.10 (μm) is a particle size at which a cumulative volume of the porous particles from the small size side based on a particle size distribution is 10%.
Immobilized diluents for smoking articles
Immobilized diluents in a smoking article are provided, wherein diluents can be immobilized through absorption and/or adsorption of the diluents into immobilizing materials, such as sorbents like silica gels. By immobilizing diluents, the diluents can be available for vaporization, while still being protected from migration and/or loss of the diluents in a smoking article.

SUPERFICIALLY POROUS MATERIALS COMPRISING A COATED CORE HAVING NARROW PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION; PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF; AND USE THEREOF FOR CHROMATOGRAPHIC SEPARATIONS
The present invention provides novel chromatographic materials, e.g., for chromatographic separations, processes for its preparation and separations devices containing the chromatographic material; separations devices, chromatographic columns and kits comprising the same; and methods for the preparation thereof. The chromatographic materials of the invention are chromatographic materials comprising having a narrow particle size distribution.
AFFINITY CHROMATOGRAPHY DEVICES CONTAINING A FIBRILLATED POLYMER MEMBRANE AND MANIFOLDS CONTAINING THE SAME
The present disclosure is directed to affinity chromatography devices including a fibrillated polymer membrane that contains inorganic particles having a spherical shape and a particle size distribution that has a D90/D10 less than or equal to 3. A blend or a combination of spherical inorganic particles may be utilized. A nominal particle size of the spherical inorganic particles is from about 5 microns to about 20 microns. An affinity ligand may be bonded to the spherical inorganic particles and/or to the fibrillated polymer membrane. Also, the affinity chromatography devices have a hydraulic permeability from about 100 (×10.sup.−12 cm.sup.2) to about 500 (×10.sup.−12 cm.sup.2). Additionally, the affinity chromatography devices have a cycling durability of at least 100 cycles without exceeding an pressure of 0.3 MPa. Manifolds containing multiple affinity chromatography devices in a parallel configuration and multiple manifolds in a parallel configuration are also disclosed.
TRANSITION METAL-DOPED CARBON MICROSPHERE, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND APPLICATION THEREOF
Disclosed are a transition metal-doped carbon microsphere, a preparation method therefor and an application thereof. The transition metal-doped carbon sphere has a uniform solid porous structure, and the transition metal is uniformly distributed inside the carbon sphere. The preparation method comprises that a carbon microsphere uniformly doped with manganese, vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten is prepared by means of a one-step hydrothermal method, is mixed with potassium oxalate, and is roasted in a protective atmosphere to obtain an activated metal-doped carbon sphere. The doped transition metal elements remain uniformly dispersed after being roasted, and do not agglomerate. The transition metal-doped carbon microsphere obtained has the following characteristics: it exhibits good adsorption properties for heavy metal ions Cr(VI), with the maximum adsorption amount being 660.7 mg/g; it can achieve advanced removal of Cr(VI) from the wastewater of which the initial Cr(VI) concentration is lower than 200 mg/L, with the residual Cr(VI) concentration after adsorption being lower than 0.05 mg/L; and it shows good application prospect in the treatment of wastewater containing heavy metal.
CHROMATOGRAPHY LIGAND COMPRISING DOMAIN C FROM STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS PROTEIN A FOR ANTIBODY ISOLATION
The present invention relates to a chromatography ligand, which comprises Domain C from Staphylococcus protein A (SpA), or a functional fragment or variant thereof. The chromatography ligand presents an advantageous capability of withstanding harsh cleaning in place (CIP) conditions, and is capable of binding Fab fragments of antibodies. The ligand may be provided with a terminal coupling group, such as arginine or cysteine, to facilitate its coupling to an insoluble carrier such as beads or a membrane. The invention also relates to a process of using the ligand in isolation of antibodies, and to a purification protocol which may include washing steps and/or regeneration with alkali.
ADSORBENT AND USE THEREOF
An adsorbent and a use thereof are provided. The adsorbent is a metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-125; the MOF MIL-125 has an external specific surface area (SSA) of 160 m.sup.2/g to 220 m.sup.2/g; and the MOF MIL-125 includes a micropore with an area of 1,000 m.sup.2/g to 1,500 m.sup.2/g. The external SSA of the MOF MIL-125 is much higher than an external SSA of the traditional MIL-125, which has promising application prospects in the adsorptive separation of xylene isomers and exhibits high selectivity for p-xylene.
