Disclosed are a floatable three-dimensional (3D) hollow microsphere material, and its preparation method and use in soil cadmium reduction, belonging to the field of regeneration of contaminated soil. The preparation method includes: mixing polyvinyl alcohol, sodium alginate, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, saponin, and at least one of modified rectorite and unmodified rectorite, to obtain a mixed material, wherein the modified rectorite includes at least one of formamide-modified rectorite and sodium humate-modified rectorite; and mixing the mixed material with a cross-linking agent solution, and performing cross-linking on a resulting mixture to obtain the floatable 3D hollow microsphere material. The floatable 3D hollow microsphere material is applied to moist soil to adsorb and remove heavy metal elements.

The water-soluble metering unit, which contains an adsorbent, is metered into the liquid to be treated, in order to remove dissolved organic and/or inorganic substances depending on the amount of dissolved organic and/or inorganic substances to be removed, wherein the adsorbent is released. When metered into the liquid to be treated, the metering unit disintegrates or disperses and releases the adsorbent which, on account of the then extremely large surface area, can bind high quantities of dissolved organic/inorganic substances.

The method includes introducing an alkali sulfide or an alkali earth sulfide with the first composition to form a second composition. The present disclosure further relates to compositions of matter having metal sulfide disposed on a particle substrate. In at least one embodiment, a composition of matter includes an alkali earth hydroxide particle. The composition of matter includes a metal sulfide disposed on the alkali earth hydroxide particle.

A method for pre-analytical treatment of a serum or plasma sample from a patient suspected of suffering from oxidative stress, which includes contacting the sample with one or more microcapsules having a gelled alginate core and a semipermeable coating, where the alginate core includes dispersed receptors against an oxidised human parathyroid hormone (PTH) peptide. The semipermeable membrane can be obtained by layer-by-layer deposition of polycationic and polyanionic macromolecules onto the gelled core, following by hardening, crosslinking and co-acervation of the macroionic phases.
