FOOD CONTAINER FOR PRESERVING FRESHNESS OF FOOD ITEMS
The invention discloses a food container for preserving freshness of food, comprising a container body having a cavity adapted for containing food items; a lid detachably secured on the container body to close the cavity of the container; and one or more food preserving elements capable of absorbing food spoiling gas to preserve freshness of the food items. The one or more food preserving elements are disposed inside the cavity and/or into a material of the food container to preserve the food items for an extended period of time and remove odors.
ANTI-MICROBIAL FILTER
The present invention relates to open-celled phenolic foam filters. In particular, the present invention relates to open-celled phenolic foam air filters for killing microbes present in air, and the use of said filters in antimicrobial air sanitation systems.
Method for producing superabsorbent polymer
The present invention relates to a superabsorbent polymer and a method for producing the same. The superabsorbent polymer includes a core layer polymerized with monomers having carboxylic group, a first shell layer formed from a surface crosslinking agent, and a second shell layer formed from zingiberaceae extracts. By a surface modification on the first shell layer performed from a specific amount of the zingiberaceae extracts, the superabsorbent polymer produced according to the method for producing the same has a good antimicrobial property and deodorizing effects, and retains an original absorbent property.
FILTERS WITH ODOR-CONTROLLING COMPOSITIONS
A filter is treated with a reduced amount of a halo active aromatic sulfanomide compound of Formula (I):
##STR00001##
wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5 are independently selected from hydrogen, COOR′, CON(R″).sub.2, alkoxy, CN, NO.sub.2, SO.sub.3R″, halogen, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, sulfonamide, halosulfonamide, and substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-C.sub.12 alkyl; R′ is hydrogen, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, substituted C.sub.1-C.sub.12 alkyl, or unsubstituted C.sub.1-C.sub.12 alkyl; and R″ is hydrogen or substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-C.sub.12 alkyl, where the two R″ groups in CON(R″).sub.2 may be independently selected; X is halogen; M is an alkali or alkaline earth metal; and n is the number of water molecules per molecule of the sulfonamide compound. The compound effectively suppresses odors pre-use, in use, and post-use for extended periods of time.
MOISTURE REGULATING COMPOSITION AND SUPPORT MATERIAL CONTAINING SAID MOISTURE-REGULATION COMPOSITION
Moisture regulating composition comprising: 20-60 weight percent on total dry weight basis of at least one Metal-organic framework compound and 80-40 weight percent on total dry weight basis of at least one binder material.
WATER ABSORBENT RESIN COMPOSITION, ABSORBENT, AND ABSORBENT ARTICLE
The present invention provides a water absorbent resin composition which suppresses acetaldehyde odor, while being suppressed in coloring with time. A water absorbent resin composition which contains a hydrazide compound carrier and a water absorbent resin, wherein: the degree of yellowing is 10 or less if 2.0 g of this water absorbent resin composition is held at a temperature of 70° C. at a relative humidity of 90% for 7 days; and if 10.0 g of this water absorbent resin composition and 900 ml of a nitrogen gas having an acetaldehyde concentration of 20 ppm are sealed in a hermetically sealed bag having a volumetric capacity of 2 liters, the acetaldehyde concentration of the gas in the hermetically sealed hag measured after a lapse of one hour is 15 ppm or less.
PCSTRUCTURES INCLUDING SUPPORTED POLYAMINES AND METHODS OF MAKINGTHE SUPPORTED POLYAMINES
Methods of making a poly(propylenimine) (PPI) sorbent, a PPI sorbent, structures including the PPI sorbent, methods of separating CO.sub.2 using the PPI sorbent, and the like, are disclosed.
VAPOR ADSORBENT FOR ENCLOSED VOLUMES
Sorbent material sheets are attached to an inner surface of an article having an enclosed volume, such as a cadaver pouch, an ammunition storage container, or a film or video tape storage box. The sorbent material sheets adsorb vapors which are released by the contents of the enclosed volumes, while providing flexibility and without releasing particles which could contaminate the contents of the enclosed volume.
Processes For Filtering Chemicals From Air Streams
The present invention provides processes for filtering undesired chemicals in streams of contaminated air for supply to confined areas. The processes provide (1) contacting air with a filter comprising by volume from about 5% to about 95% impregnated zirconium hydroxide, from about 5% to about 95% activated impregnated carbon, and optionally, up to about 50% ammonia removal material; and (2) supplying the contacted air to a confined area.
POROUS MATERIALS COMPRISING METAL OXIDES AND THE USE THEREOF
A material, such as a flexible sheet, including a metal or metal alloy, wherein the metal or metal alloy has at least one porous metal oxide layer thereon. In some examples, the at least one metal oxide layer has a three-dimensional disordered network of channels in which the pores have non-constant diameters. Methods of preparing the materials are also disclosed.
