Method for making an aminated siliceous adsorbent
An aminated siliceous adsorbent, which is the reaction product of dried acidified rice husk ash having disordered mesopores and an amino silane, wherein amine functional groups are present on an external surface and within the mesopores of the dried acidified rice husk ash, and wherein the aminated siliceous adsorbent has a carbon content of 24 to 30 wt. %, based on a total weight of the aminated siliceous adsorbent. A method of making the aminated siliceous adsorbent and a method of capturing CO.sub.2 from a gas mixture with the aminated siliceous adsorbent.

Carbon dioxide sorbents for air quality control
Carbon dioxide and VOC sorbents that include a porous support impregnated with an amine compound are provided. The sorbents include a gas-adsorbing material coated onto the porous support. The gas-adsorbing material includes a polyamine which is produced using a process that is free of formaldehyde as a reaction product and/or a reactant.
CAVITIES AND ACTIVE REGIONS
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing and/or receiving audible sound. In particular, the invention relates to apparatus, such as a micro speaker, which includes an active region which comprises a particulate adsorbent material comprising i) microporous organic polymer (MOP) material, and/or ii) metal organic framework (MOF) material treated with a hydrophobic coating or a membrane. The particulate adsorbent material is either in the form of loose or semi-loose granules, or it is supported by or impregnated into a woven, knitted or non-woven felt material. The apparatus of the present invention is suitable for use in an electronic device, for example a mobile or portable electronic device, to provide improved audible sound.
Porous formed article, method for producing porous formed article, and production apparatus for porous formed article
A porous formed article includes an organic polymer resin and an inorganic ion adsorbent and having the most frequent pore size of 0.08 to 0.70 μm measured with a mercury porosimeter. Such a porous formed article can be prepared by crushing and mixing a good solvent for the organic polymer resin and the inorganic ion adsorbent to obtain slurry; dissolving the organic polymer resin and a water-soluble polymer in the slurry; shape-forming the slurry; promoting coagulation of the shape-formed product by controlling the temperature and humidity of a spatial portion coming into contact with the shape-formed product, until the shape-formed product is coagulated in a poor solvent; and coagulating the coagulation-promoted shape-formed product in a poor solvent. A production apparatus can be used to prepare such a porous formed article.
NANOSTRUCTURED IRON/CARBON FOR SCAVENGING OXYGEN
The invention is directed to a nanostructured composite material comprising a mixture of at least one metal particle such as iron and a carbon material from biomass such as D-glucose, D-glucosamine hydrochloride or α-cyclodextrin. The invention is also directed to a composition comprising the composite material comprising the composite material and an inorganic salt, and a method for synthesizing the composite material comprising immersing the carbon material into a solution of metal ions, drying the impregnated carbon particle and subjecting the impregnated carbon particle to a carbothermal reduction process. The nanostructured composite material is useful as an oxygen scavenging layer in a multi-layer film which comprises the oxygen scavenging layer and an oxygen barrier layer that retards the permeation of oxygen from an external environment.
Continuous desulfurization process based on metal oxide-based regenerable sorbents
A continuous desulfurization process and process system are described for removal of reduced sulfur species at gas stream concentrations in a range of from about 5 to about 5000 ppmv, using fixed beds containing regenerable sorbents, and for regeneration of such regenerable sorbents. The desulfurization removes the reduced sulfur species of hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon disulfide, and/or thiols and disulfides with four or less carbon atoms, to ppbv concentrations. In specific disclosed implementations, regenerable metal oxide-based sorbents are integrated along with a functional and effective process to control the regeneration reaction and process while maintaining a stable dynamic sulfur capacity. A membrane-based process and system is described for producing regeneration and purge gas for the desulfurization.
