Arsine adsorbents
An adsorbent composition comprises a bismuth material, a promoter and optionally a support. The adsorbent composition is suitable for adsorbing an arsenic material, such as arsine, from a process stream.
Lightweight modified filter material, preparation method therefor and use thereof
A lightweight modified filter material, a preparation method therefor and use thereof, the lightweight modified filter material being prepared from the following components in parts by mass: 75-100 parts of waste glass, 5-20 parts of a metal oxide modifier and 1-10 parts of a foamer. The lightweight modified filter material has the advantages of being lightweight, having large specific surface area, a high isoelectric point, porosity and the like, increasing the isoelectric point and service life of the filter material. The added metal oxide can be combined with SiO2 in the glass to form Si—O-Me (Me metal ions) and enter the glass network.
Method for sulfonating sawdust to form modified sorbent
A method for producing a modified sawdust sorbent. The method involves sulfonating sawdust with sulfuric acid and oxidizing the sulfonated sawdust with hydrogen peroxide. The method yields a modified sawdust sorbent containing sulfonated and oxidized cellulose. The modified sawdust sorbent has a higher surface area, higher organic dye adsorption capacity, and more rapid organic dye adsorption rate than unmodified sawdust. A method for organic dye removal from water includes using the modified sawdust sorbent to absorb dyes from water.

Porous silica particles
The present disclosure provides a porous silica having an average pore diameter of at least 210 Å and a pore volume of at least 0.80 cm.sup.3g.sup.−1. The present disclosure also provides a method of producing the porous silica including gelling a liquid phase-dispersed nanoparticulate silica in the presence of either (i) a Brønsted acid and an amine group having two or more primary or secondary amine groups or (ii) an amino acid.
Perovskite Oxygen Carriers and Methods for Making and Using Perovskite Oxygen Carriers
A perovskite oxygen carrier having the formula Sr.sub.1-xCa.sub.xFe.sub.1-yNi.sub.yO.sub.3, where 0.05<x<0.30 and 0.001<y<0.125 and a method of using the perovskite carrier to carry oxygen. A mesoporous perovskite oxygen carrier having the formula Sr.sub.1-xCa.sub.xFeO.sub.3, where 0.01<x<0.40 and methods for making and using the mesoporous perovskite oxygen carrier.
ADSORBENT AND USE THEREOF
An adsorbent and a use thereof are provided. The adsorbent is a metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-125; the MOF MIL-125 has an external specific surface area (SSA) of 160 m.sup.2/g to 220 m.sup.2/g; and the MOF MIL-125 includes a micropore with an area of 1,000 m.sup.2/g to 1,500 m.sup.2/g. The external SSA of the MOF MIL-125 is much higher than an external SSA of the traditional MIL-125, which has promising application prospects in the adsorptive separation of xylene isomers and exhibits high selectivity for p-xylene.
COLOR REMOVAL WITH ZIPGEM FILTRATION MEDIA FOR WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT
Described herein relates to an optimum, low maintenance and low-cost filtration media which may be implemented near a source water location as a pretreatment to remove tannic acid and/or humic acid (color) from dissolved natural organic matter (NOM) (i.e., tannic acid, humic acid) to impede the prompt production of disinfection by-products collectively termed trihalomethanes in drinking water treatment processes. In an embodiment, the filtration media may comprise a composition having a ratio of at least 83% sand, at most 5% clay, at most 6% ZVI and at most 6% perlite by percent volume.
Engineered coal char
Provided herein are an adsorbent and method of treating water using the adsorbent. The adsorbent includes thermally- and chemically-treated lignite coal. The method includes contacting wastewater with the treated lignite coal.
Nanoporous Superabsorbent Particles with Low Non-Solvent Levels
Superabsorbent particles having less than 1000 ppm non-solvent, a median size of from about 50 to about 2,000 micrometers, and containing nanopores having an average cross-sectional dimension of from about 10 to about 500 nanometers are provided. The superabsorbent particles exhibit a Vortex Time of about 80 seconds or less.
