EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL ARTICLES INCLUDING ACTIVATED CARBON
The present disclosure relates to hydrocarbon emission control systems. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to substrates coated with hydrocarbon adsorptive coating compositions and evaporative emission control systems for controlling evaporative emissions of hydrocarbons from motor vehicle engines and fuel systems.
ALKALINE-TREATED ZEOLITE BASED SORBENT DEVICE, AND USE FOR HEAVY METAL REMOVAL
A sorbent device based on a porous membrane bag (e.g., porous propylene membrane bag) encapsulated alkaline-modified zeolite (e.g., alkaline-treated USY zeolite). A process for removing heavy metals, such as Cd(II), Cr(III), and Pb(II) from an aqueous solution or an industrial wastewater samples with the sorbent device is provided. A method for preparing the alkaline-modified zeolite is also described.
Method for making an aminated siliceous adsorbent
An aminated siliceous adsorbent, which is the reaction product of dried acidified rice husk ash having disordered mesopores and an amino silane, wherein amine functional groups are present on an external surface and within the mesopores of the dried acidified rice husk ash, and wherein the aminated siliceous adsorbent has a carbon content of 24 to 30 wt. %, based on a total weight of the aminated siliceous adsorbent. A method of making the aminated siliceous adsorbent and a method of capturing CO.sub.2 from a gas mixture with the aminated siliceous adsorbent.
EMM-41 Composition, Methods of Making and Uses Thereof
This disclosure relates to EMM-41 materials, methods for making it, and processes for its use. This disclosure also relates to the structure directing agents used in the methods for making the EMM-41 material as well as the synthesis method used to prepare such structure directing agents.
Highly porous powdered slaked lime composition
The present invention concerns a powdery slaked lime composition having an Alpine fluidity greater than 50% and including a first fraction of particles having a size less than 32 μm and a second fraction of particles with the size greater than 32 μm, the second fraction being less than 10% by weight, compared to the total weight of the composition. The invention also relates to a method for producing same.
Carrier for adsorbing organic matter
An object of the present invention is to provide a carrier for adsorbing organic matter, which achieves both of adsorption ability for organic matter and suppression of pressure increase. The present invention provides a carrier for adsorbing organic matter, comprising a sea-island type solid composite fiber, wherein the pore volume is 0.05 to 0.5 cm.sup.3/g and the fiber diameter is 25 to 60 μm.
Zirconium metal-organic framework and a method of capturing carbon dioxide
A zirconium metal-organic framework, which is a coordination product formed between zirconium ion clusters and a linker that links together adjacent zirconium ion clusters, wherein the linker is of formula (I) ##STR00001##
wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl, and R.sup.2 to R.sup.4 are independently hydrogen, an optionally substituted alkyl, an optionally substituted aryl, or an optionally substituted arylalkyl. A method of capturing CO.sub.2 from a gas mixture with the zirconium metal-organic framework.
Continuous desulfurization process based on metal oxide-based regenerable sorbents
A continuous desulfurization process and process system are described for removal of reduced sulfur species at gas stream concentrations in a range of from about 5 to about 5000 ppmv, using fixed beds containing regenerable sorbents, and for regeneration of such regenerable sorbents. The desulfurization removes the reduced sulfur species of hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon disulfide, and/or thiols and disulfides with four or less carbon atoms, to ppbv concentrations. In specific disclosed implementations, regenerable metal oxide-based sorbents are integrated along with a functional and effective process to control the regeneration reaction and process while maintaining a stable dynamic sulfur capacity. A membrane-based process and system is described for producing regeneration and purge gas for the desulfurization.
Sorbent compositions having amorphous halogen species for the sequestration of contaminants
Methods for the manufacture of sorbent compositions, sorbent compositions and methods for using the sorbent compositions. The methods include the utilization of an acidic halogen solution as a source of a halogen species that is dispersed on a solid sorbent. The use of the acidic halogen solution results in a highly active halogen species that demonstrates improved efficacy for the removal of heavy metal(s) from a flue gas. The sorbent composition includes a substantially amorphous halogen species associated with a solid sorbent such as powdered activated carbon (PAC).
Porous Carbon Material, Method for Manufacturing Same, Filter, Sheet, and Catalyst Carrier
A porous carbon material wherein a particle diameter is 10 μm or more but 1 cm or less; wherein a bulk specific gravity is 0.20 g/cm.sup.3 or more; and wherein a mesopore volume is 0.10 cm.sup.3/g or more.
