WATER STABLE COPPER PADDLEWHEEL METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK (MOF) COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESSES USING THE MOFS
This invention relates to a Cu-BTC MOF which is water stable. The Cu-BTC MOF has been modified by substituting some of the BTC ligand (1,3,5, benzene tricarboxylic acid) with 5-aminoisophthalic acid (AIA). The resultant MOF retains at least 40% of its as synthesized surface area after exposure to liquid water at 60° C. for 6 hours. This is an unexpected result versus the MOF containing only the BTC ligand. This MOF can be used to abate contaminants such as ammonia in gas streams and especially air streams.
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL ARTICLES INCLUDING ACTIVATED CARBON
The present disclosure relates to hydrocarbon emission control systems. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to substrates coated with hydrocarbon adsorptive coating compositions and evaporative emission control systems for controlling evaporative emissions of hydrocarbons from motor vehicle engines and fuel systems.
ALKALINE-TREATED ZEOLITE BASED SORBENT DEVICE, AND USE FOR HEAVY METAL REMOVAL
A sorbent device based on a porous membrane bag (e.g., porous propylene membrane bag) encapsulated alkaline-modified zeolite (e.g., alkaline-treated USY zeolite). A process for removing heavy metals, such as Cd(II), Cr(III), and Pb(II) from an aqueous solution or an industrial wastewater samples with the sorbent device is provided. A method for preparing the alkaline-modified zeolite is also described.
Carbon dioxide adsorbent, method for manufacturing the same, and carbon dioxide processing system
A method for manufacturing a carbon dioxide adsorbent includes preparing an amine aqueous solution having an amine compound concentration ranging from 5% to 70% inclusive and a temperature ranging from 10° C. to 100° C. inclusive, impregnating silica gel with the amine aqueous solution, and aeration-drying the silica gel carrying the amine compound. The silica gel has a particle size ranging from 1 mm to 5 mm inclusive, an average pore diameter ranging from 10 nm to 100 nm inclusive, and a pore volume ranging from 0.1 cm.sup.3/g to 1.3 cm.sup.3/g inclusive.
Carrier for adsorbing organic matter
An object of the present invention is to provide a carrier for adsorbing organic matter, which achieves both of adsorption ability for organic matter and suppression of pressure increase. The present invention provides a carrier for adsorbing organic matter, comprising a sea-island type solid composite fiber, wherein the pore volume is 0.05 to 0.5 cm.sup.3/g and the fiber diameter is 25 to 60 μm.
Affinity chromatography media and chromatography devices
Chromatography media and devices containing chromatography media are disclosed. Methods of making chromatography devices and methods of using chromatography devices containing the chromatography media are also disclosed.
Continuous desulfurization process based on metal oxide-based regenerable sorbents
A continuous desulfurization process and process system are described for removal of reduced sulfur species at gas stream concentrations in a range of from about 5 to about 5000 ppmv, using fixed beds containing regenerable sorbents, and for regeneration of such regenerable sorbents. The desulfurization removes the reduced sulfur species of hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon disulfide, and/or thiols and disulfides with four or less carbon atoms, to ppbv concentrations. In specific disclosed implementations, regenerable metal oxide-based sorbents are integrated along with a functional and effective process to control the regeneration reaction and process while maintaining a stable dynamic sulfur capacity. A membrane-based process and system is described for producing regeneration and purge gas for the desulfurization.
Process and apparatus for manufacturing water-absorbing material and use in cat litter
A process for manufacturing particles of water-absorbing material is provided. The process includes providing a powder bed composed of an absorptive powder comprising a water-absorbing polysaccharide onto a surface; releasing an aqueous solution from a solution dispenser so as to contact the powder bed, thereby forming a solution-impregnated humid material; letting the solution-impregnated humid material agglomerate in substantially shear-less conditions to form an agglomerated humid material, the solution-impregnated humid material being supported by the surface; and drying the agglomerated humid material, thereby forming the particles.
CARBON-BASED COMPOSITIONS WITH HIGHLY EFFICIENT VOLUMETRIC GAS SORPTION
The present application is generally directed to gas storage materials such as activated carbon comprising enhanced gas adsorption properties. The gas storage materials find utility in any number of gas storage applications. Methods for making the gas storage materials are also disclosed.
