An adsorbent sheet for adsorbing a virus according to the present invention includes a porous carbonaceous material having a specific surface area value as measured by the nitrogen BET method of 10 m.sup.2/g or more and a pore volume as measured by the BJH method of 0.1 cm.sup.3/g or more. A carbon/polymer composite for adsorbing a virus according to the present invention includes a porous carbonaceous material having a specific surface area value as measured by the nitrogen BET method of 10 m.sup.2/g or more and a pore volume as measured by the BJH method of 0.1 cm.sup.3/g or more; and a binder.

Loudspeaker system with improved sound

A loudspeaker device is presented which includes a zeolite material comprising zeolite particles having a silicon to aluminum mass ratio of at least 200. For an increased pore fraction of pores with a diameter in a range between 0.7 micrometer and 30 micrometer shows an increased shift of the resonance frequency down to lower frequencies has been observed.

METHOD FOR DESULFURIZING DIESEL FUEL

Alumina/NiO/ZnO and Alumina/ZnO are synthesized via a novel modified hydrothermal method and investigated for the desulfurization activities. Sulfur compounds such as thiophene, benzothiophene (BT) and dibenzothiophene (DBT) are tested for their removal from model diesel fuel. The prepared composite materials were examined by the means of N.sub.2-adsorption, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

SOLID PHASE MICROEXTRACTION COATING

The present disclosure provides an extraction coating for an SPME sampling instrument, where the extraction coating includes a sorptive material immobilized in a fluorocarbon polymer that is compatible with thermal-assisted desorption techniques, solvent-assisted desorption techniques, or both. The disclosure also provides SPME sampling instruments, methods of making an SPME sampling instrument, and methods of extracting an analyte from a sample matrix using the SPME coating.

COLUMN COMPRISING PARTICLES

A column including particles having an average particle size ranging from about 1 m to about 5 m; the particles have an average pore size ranging from about 450 to about 3000 ; and the particles have an average pore volume ranging from about 0.1 cm.sup.3/g to about 5 cm.sup.3/g is disclosed. The column can be a size exclusion chromatography column. The column can be used in a method to separate monomers from viral analytes, which is also disclosed.
