METHODS WITH A CONSTRUCTION THAT ABSORBS AN ORGANIC CHEMICAL
Construction for absorbing a fluid, for example, a liquid or gaseous, organic chemical, has an extended web, fabric, yarn or foam member and associated with the extended web, fabric, yarn or foam member is a water-insoluble polymer. The water-insoluble polymer can absorb the fluid organic chemical, and the construction provides for contact of the water-insoluble polymer with the fluid organic chemical when deployed in an environment where the fluid organic chemical may be present for absorption. The construction may be employed in aquatic, aqueous, or dry environments, as a blotter, a wipe or sponge, a filter, in a cartridge, and so forth.
CHROMATOGRAPHIC COMPOSITIONS
Provided herein are stationary phase compositions comprising a chromatographic surface of porous or non-porous core material comprising a surface modifier for use in chromatographic separations.
Selenium nanomaterials and methods of making and using same
Method of preparing a selenium nanomaterial and selenium nanomaterial articles. The method may include forming a saccharide coating on a surface of a solid support material, treating the solid support material having the saccharide coating on the surface with a selenous acid solution, and heating the solid support material to form the selenium nanomaterial on the surface of the solid porous support material. The saccharide may include a monosaccharide, a disaccharide, or a polysaccharide, or a combination thereof, such as sucrose, or fructose, or a combination thereof.
Carbon dioxide sorbents for indoor air quality control
Disclosed in certain embodiments are carbon dioxide sorbents that include porous particles impregnated with an amine compound.
PREPARATION OF CHROMATOGRAPHIC STATIONARY PHASE HAVING POROUS FRAMEWORK MATERIAL AS MATRIX FOR CHIRAL SEPARATION
The novel porous framework materials (such as metal organic frameworks or covalent organic frameworks) having a wide range of applications, which was designed and developed in an inventive manner to resolve issues with respect to a carrier material in a stationary phase of a conventional chiral chromatographic column in which the carrier material has poor stability, a chiral resolving agent has a low loading rate, and the chiral resolving agent is prone to loss or is applied in a restricted manner. The porous framework material efficiently loads a chiral resolving agent (such as proteins, enzymes, or macrocyclic antibiotics) by means of covalent bonding, adsorption, embedding, and crosslinking, such that a variety of efficient and durable chiral stationary phases are prepared to serve as a novel high-performance chromatographic column filler used for chromatographic chiral separation (such as high-performance liquid chromatography or capillary chromatography). The various chiral stationary phases prepared by applying the above technique have high separation efficiency, high stability, and durability, and have been successfully applied to perform efficient separation of different kinds of chiral materials such as chiral amino acids and a chiral drug. The technique greatly widens the application range and extends the service life of a chiral chromatographic separation column.
CHROMATOGRAPHIC MATERIALS FOR THE SEPARATION OF UNSATURATED MOLECULES
The present disclosure relates to a method of separating a compound of interest, particularly unsaturated compound(s) of interest, from a mixture. The compound is separated using a column having a chromatographic stationary phase material for various different modes of chromatography containing a first substituent and a second substituent. The first substituent minimizes compound retention variation over time under chromatographic conditions. The second substituent chromatographically and selectively retains the compound by incorporating one or more aromatic, polyaromatic, heterocyclic aromatic, or polyheterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon groups, each group being optionally substituted with an aliphatic group. In some examples, the present disclosure can include a chromatographic system having a chromatographic column having a stationary phase with a chromatographic substrate containing silica, metal oxide, an inorganic-organic hybrid material, a group of block copolymers, or a combination thereof.
Metal organic resins with zirconium nodes
Metal organic resins, composite materials composed of the metal organic resins, and anion exchange columns packed with the composite materials are provided. Also provided are methods of using the composite materials to remove metal anions from a sample, methods of using the metal organic resins as fluorescence sensors for detecting metal anions in a sample, and methods of making the metal organic resins and the composite materials. The metal organic resins are amine-functionalized metal organic frameworks and their associated counter anions. The composite materials are composed of metal organic resin particles coated with organic polymers, such as alginic acid polymers.
METHOD FOR IN-SITU SYNTHESIS OF METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS (MOFs), COVALENT ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS (COFs) AND ZEOLITE IMIDAZOLATE FRAMEWORKS (ZIFs), AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present invention relates to method for the synthesis in-situ of the class of compounds known generally as MOFs (metal organic frameworks or organometallic compounds), COFs (covalent organic frameworks), and ZIFs (Zeolitic imidazolate framework), within and onto different types of substrates, and to the applications of such substrates having in-situ synthesized MOFs, COFs and ZIFs.
NANOPORE ASSEMBLIES AND USES THEREOF
The disclosure provides a nanopore system assembled with non-membrane proteins for detecting analytes. Also disclosed are the methods, kits, and detection devices employing the disclosed nanopore system. The nanopore system has a wide variety of applications, including single molecule detection, DNA/RNA/peptide sequencing, sensing of chemicals, biological reagents, and polymers, and disease diagnosis.
Chromatographic compositions
Provided herein are stationary phase compositions comprising a chromatographic surface of porous or non-porous core material comprising a surface modifier for use in chromatographic separations.
