The invention relates to a process for preparing core-shell particles comprising the steps of (i) providing a dispersion of primary magnetic particles having a mean diameter lower than 200 nm in a solvent; (ii) adding one or more (semi-)metal (oxyhydr)oxide(s) and/or one or more precursor(s) of a (semi-)metal (oxyhydr)oxide to said dispersion; (iii) optionally adding a hydrolysis agent for said one or more precursor(s); (iv) injecting the dispersion in a spray dryer; whereby a (semi-)metal (oxyhydr)oxide shell is formed on the magnetic particles during spray drying. The invention also relates to particles obtainable by said process, to a formulation of said particles in a solvent and to the use of said particles or said formulation for RNA or DNA extraction.
SUPERFICIALLY POROUS ORGANIC POLYMER PARTICLES
In various embodiments, the present disclosure pertains to organic polymer core-shell particles that comprise a non-porous organic polymer core (i.e., having a pore volume of less than 0.1 cc/g) and a porous organic polymer shell (i.e., having a pore volume of greater than 0.1 cc/g), in which the porous organic polymer shell has a pore size ranging from 100 Å to 3000 Å. In some embodiments, the present disclosure pertains to chromatographic separation devices that comprise such organic polymer core-shell particles. In some embodiments, the present disclosure pertains to chromatographic methods that comprise: (a) loading a sample onto a chromatographic column comprising such organic polymer core-shell particles and (b) flowing a mobile phase through the column.
LANTHANUM-IRON-LOADED CARBON NANOTUBE FILM FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION, PREPARATION AND APPLICATION THEREOF
A preparation method of a lanthanum-iron-loaded carbon nanotube film for environmental restoration is provided, it belongs to the technical field of composite materials. The preparation method includes: mixing carbon nanotubes with a lanthanum-iron mixed solution to obtain a suspension, then obtaining a first reaction solution by a constant temperature oscillation reaction; adding alkali liquor into the first reaction solution to obtain a second reaction solution by an oscillation reaction; carrying out a solid-liquid separation on the second reaction solution, adding the obtained solid after drying into an organic solution, and obtaining a third reaction solution by ultrasonic mixing; centrifuging the third reaction solution to obtain a supernatant; obtaining a lanthanum-iron-loaded carbon nanotube film by suction filtration. Compared with powdered adsorbent and single adsorbent, the material prepared by the preparation method has advantages of strong stability, high adsorption efficiency, good regeneration effect, high recycling efficiency, and low production.
BORON OXIDE-CONTAINING ADSORBENT AND RELATED METHODS AND DEVICES
Described are boron oxide-containing adsorbents that include porous adsorbent base and boron oxide on surfaces of the base, as well as devices that include the boron oxide-containing adsorbent, and related methods of preparing and using the boron oxide-containing adsorbent.
Apparatus for removing chemotherapy compounds from blood
A filter apparatus for removing small molecule chemotherapy agents from blood is provided. The filter apparatus comprises a housing with an extraction media comprised of polymer coated carbon cores. Also provided are methods of treating a subject with cancer of an organ or region comprising administering a chemotherapeutic agent to the organ or region, collecting blood laded with chemotherapeutic agent from the isolated organ, filtering the blood laden with chemotherapeutic agent to reduce the chemotherapeutic agent in the blood and returning the blood to the subject.
Magnetic soil remediation agent for soil heavy metal pollution, preparation method and use thereof
A magnetic soil remediation agent for soil heavy metal pollution and a preparation method and application thereof are provided. The magnetic soil remediation agent is prepared by using remediation agent framework material and magnetic core material as raw materials, and heavy metal collector as modifier; said framework material is silicon dioxide activated by strong alkali; said magnetic core material comprises magnetic materials Fe.sub.3O.sub.4 and γ-Fe.sub.2O.sub.3; said modifier comprises ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), nitrilotriacetic acid trisodium salt (NTA), (S,S)-ethylenediamine-N,N-disuccinic acid trisodium salt (EDDS) and mercaptoethylamine. The remediation agent of the present invention can effectively passivate the heavy metals in the soil, reduce their available contents, and inhibit the absorption of heavy metals by plants.
CARBON DIOXIDE ADSORBENT BASED ON HYDROPHOBIC SILANE-COATED AMINE-FUNCTIONALIZED MOF/ALUMINA COMPOSITE
The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide adsorbent based on a hydrophobic silane-coated amine-functionalized MOF/alumina composite and, more specifically, to a carbon dioxide adsorbent based on a hydrophobic silane-coated amine-functionalized MOF/alumina composite, capable of maintaining structural stability by means of the moisture present in exhaust gas, and thus can effectively capture carbon dioxide in a real fluidized bed. According to the present invention, provided are a carbon dioxide adsorbent and a preparation method therefor, the carbon dioxide adsorbent being capable of maintaining structural stability by means of the moisture present in exhaust gas since the surface of a porous metal-organic framework/alumina oxide composite is coated with hydrophobic silane.
Graphene coated glass material and uses thereof
A graphene coated crushed glass particle adsorbent is provided for the removal of heavy metals and other contaminants in from solutions such as wastewaters, contaminated surface water and groundwater. The adsorbent comprises crushed (e.g. recycled) glass coated with graphene nano-sheets using a staged thermal binding process and the silicas in the glass as a catalyst.
