Fast and high-capacity intelligent cellulose-based oil-absorbing material and preparation method and use thereof
The present disclosure provides a fast and high-capacity intelligent cellulose-based oil-absorbing material and a preparation method and use thereof. The material includes an intelligent response layer and an adsorption layer. The intelligent response layer is a pH-responsive nanofiber layer with an adjustable pH response performance and is obtained by grafting hyperbranched polycarboxylic acid-modified polyethyleneimine on to carboxylated cellulose nanofibers. The hyperbranched polycarboxylic acid is prepared by melting and polycondensing at a high temperature, using trimethylolpropane as a core, citric acid as a reactive monomer, and p-toluenesulfonic acid as a catalyst. The adsorption layer is prepared by coating ferroferric oxide with the carboxylated cellulose nanofibers to prepare magnetic carboxylated cellulose nanofibers, and then modifying the magnetic carboxylated cellulose nanofibers with hexadecylamine.
Water extractable microcapsules of activated carbon, super activated carbon, and other adsorptive and reactive materials
The disclosed subject matter relates to a microcapsule including a particle core selected from activated carbon (AC), super activated carbon (SAC), MOF composition, multifunctional material or a mixture thereof and a water-soluble polymer shell, including a membrane into which the microcapsule is incorporated, a membrane with exposed AC, SAC, MOF, or multifunctional materials or mixture thereof formed therefrom and methods used is the formation of all of the above.
Hybrid sorbent
Hybrid sorbent on the base of anion-exchange polymeric matrix with HFO for selective sorption of arsenic characterized in that, HFO exists in matrix as particles, which at most are amorphous ferrihydrite, fraction of which is not less than 80%, preferably more than 90% from total mass of HFO. The object of the invention and the technical result achieved with the use of the invention is to develop new hybrid sorbent with HFO with increased sorption kinetics of two arsenic forms As(III) and As(V) simultaneously.
Evaporative emission device and adsorbent
The present disclosure relates to hydrocarbon emission control systems. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to substrates coated with hydrocarbon adsorptive coating compositions, air intake systems, and evaporative emission control systems for controlling evaporative emissions of hydrocarbons from motor vehicle engines and fuel systems.
SUPERFICIALLY POROUS MATERIALS COMPRISING A COATED CORE HAVING NARROW PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION; PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF; AND USE THEREOF FOR CHROMATOGRAPHIC SEPARATIONS
The present invention provides novel chromatographic materials, e.g., for chromatographic separations, processes for its preparation and separations devices containing the chromatographic material; separations devices, chromatographic columns and kits comprising the same; and methods for the preparation thereof. The chromatographic materials of the invention are chromatographic materials comprising having a narrow particle size distribution.
Method of conserving irrigation water using a woven fabric substrate
A woven fabric formed of fabric fibers or threads coated with a hydrogel, wherein said hydrogel is not crosslinked or is partially crosslinked to the fabric fibers or thread, wherein the hydrogel has a number of excess reactive molecules that are available for a reaction with one or more molecules solvated in an aqueous solution, and wherein the reactive molecules of the hydrogel can reversibly bond with the molecules solvated in an aqueous solution, such that the reactive molecules of the hydrogel attract the molecules solvated in aqueous solution when the hydrogel coated fabric substrate is exposed to an aqueous solution.
Metal nanoparticle-deposited, nitrogen-doped carbon adsorbents for removal of sulfur impurities in fuels
Metal nanoparticle-deposited, nitrogen-doped carbon adsorbents are disclosed, along with methods of removing sulfur compounds from a hydrocarbon feed stream using these adsorbents.
REMOVAL OF VOCS AND FINE PARTICULATE MATTER BY METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS COATED ELECTRET MEDIA (E-MOFILTER)
Provided herein are electret-MOF filter embedded with particles derived from metal-organic frameworks (MOF) and their methods of manufacturing. The methods of manufacturing the electret-MOF filter can include suspending MOF particles in a solvent to form a MOF particle mixture, contacting a charged polymeric fibrous web with the MOF particle mixture, and coating the charged polymeric fibrous web with the MOF particles by flowing the MOF particle mixture through an inverse side of the polymeric fibrous web. The disclosed coating method can deposit MOF particles uniformly, without formation of films at interstitial spaces between fibers. The electret-MOF filter can simultaneously remove fine particulate matters (PMs) and hazardous gaseous pollutants (including volatile organic compounds (VOCs)) with high particle holding and gas adsorption capacities, and with very low air resistance.
Absorbent Composite, an Absorbent Article Employing the Same, and Methods, Systems, and Apparatus for Making the Absorbent Composite and/or Article
An absorbent core composite is disclosed for incorporation into a disposable absorbent article. The composite includes a first material layer and a second material layer (preferably nonwoven) partially secured to the first material layer to define at least one pocket therebetween. Preferably, multiple pockets are defined, except in the case of where a generally uniform layer or bed of absorbent is preferred or better suited fro the application. The pocket is said have a fixed initial volume. Further, an aggregate of absorbent particles is provided in the pocket(s) to occupy a portion of the fixed initial volume. The absorbent particles are preferably SAP particles and is characterized by a dry volume associated with a dry state and a swell volume associated with a liquid saturation state. In respect to or for the pocket, the aggregate is characterized by a collective dry volume and a collective swell volume, wherein the pocket has an initial configuration that retains the aggregate therein.
