Catalytic composition and structures made thereof

A catalytic composition is built up from a ceramic material including a catalytic material and a first inorganic binder and a second inorganic binder and a catalytic structure made thereof. Preferably, the structure is made by a colloidal ceramic shaping technique. The structure is usable for catalytic or ion exchange applications as well. It is demonstrated that the catalytic structures have excellent mechanical, physicochemical and catalytic properties.

BETA-TYPE ZEOLITE AND CATALYST CONTAINING SAME

Provided is a beta zeolite satisfying P>76.79Q−29.514 in a range in which Q is less than 0.4011 nm, wherein, P represents an AB value that is an intensity ratio of A to B, A represents a diffraction intensity of a main peak of the beta zeolite observed by X-ray diffraction measurement, B represents a diffraction intensity of the (116) plane of α-alumina obtained by X-ray diffraction measurement under the same conditions as those for the X-ray diffraction measurement on the beta zeolite, the α-alumina being the standard substance 674a distributed by the American National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Q represents a lattice interplanar spacing of the main peak of the beta zeolite observed by X-ray diffraction measurement. It is preferable that the formula (1) above is satisfied in a range in which Q is from 0.3940 to 0.4000 nm.

PROCESS

A process for dehydrating methanol to dimethyl ether product in the presence of a catalyst and a promoter, wherein the catalyst is at least one aluminosilicate zeolite, wherein:—the aluminosilicate zeolite is selected from: (i) a zeolite having a 2-dimensional framework structure comprising at least one channel having a 10-membered ring, and having a maximum free sphere diameter of at least 4.8 Angstroms; (ii) a zeolite having a 3-dimensional framework structure comprising at least one channel having a 10-membered ring; or (iii) a zeolite comprising at least one channel having a 12-membered ring;—the promoter is selected from one or more compounds of Formula I: (I) wherein Y is selected from a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 hydrocarbyl substituent, and wherein each of X and any or all of the Z's may independently be selected from hydrogen, halide, a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl substituent, or a compound of the formula —CHO, —CO.sub.2R, —COR, or —OR, where R is hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl substituent, and wherein the molar ratio of promoter to methanol is maintained at less than 1.

COMPOSITE CATALYST FOR POLYOLEFIN DEPOLYMERIZATION

Catalytic compositions for depolymerizing polyolefin-based waste material into useful petrochemical products and methods of use are described. The compositions are a composite of at least one zeolite catalyst with one or more co-catalyst(s) that is a solid inorganic material. These composite catalysts, along with heat, are used to both increase the depolymerization reaction rate of the feed streams and suppress poisoning effects of non-polyolefin polymers that may be present. This results in a shorter residence time in the depolymerization unit and more efficient process.

Zeolite composite catalysts for conversion of heavy reformate to xylenes

Embodiments of zeolite composite catalysts and methods of producing the zeolite composite catalysts are provided, where the methods comprise dissolving in an alkaline solution a catalyst precursor comprising at least one mesoporous zeolite while heating, stirring, or both to yield a dissolved zeolite solution, where the mesoporous zeolite has a molar ratio of SiO.sub.2/Al.sub.2O.sub.3 of at least 30, where the mesoporous zeolite comprises zeolite beta, adjusting the pH of the dissolved zeolite solution, aging the pH adjusted dissolved zeolite solution to yield solid zeolite composite from the dissolved zeolite solution, and calcining the solid zeolite composite to produce the zeolite composite catalyst, where the zeolite composite catalyst has a mesostructure comprising at least one disordered mesophase and at least one ordered mesophase, and where the zeolite composite catalyst has a surface area defined by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis of at least 600 m.sup.2/g.

Zeolite catalyst and method for preparation of aromatic tricyclic pyrans

Provided herein are methods for converting CBD to a product mixture comprising Δ.sup.8-THC, Δ.sup.9-THC, or a combination thereof. The methods provided herein may comprise one or more of (1) a contacting step wherein a starting material comprising CBD, a catalyst comprising a zeolite, and optionally a solvent are added to a reaction vessel, thereby forming a reaction mixture; (2) a conversion step wherein at least a portion of the CBD is converted to THC, thereby forming a product mixture; and (3) optionally, a separation step wherein at least a portion of the catalyst is removed from the product mixture. Advantageously, the methods do not require the use of catalysts or other reagents that are hazardous to human health.

Diesel engine exhaust gas purification catalyst, production method therefor, and exhaust gas purification method using the same

It is an object to provide a catalyst that can effectively purify exhaust gas, in particular, carbon monoxide (CO) in exhaust gas, emitted from a diesel engine, a production method therefor, and an exhaust gas purification method using the same. A diesel engine exhaust gas purification catalyst for purifying exhaust gas emitted from a diesel engine of the present invention comprises a precious metal and alumina and/or zeolite supported on a three-dimensional structure, and has peaks for not less than three different pore sizes in a pore size distribution measured by the mercury intrusion method, wherein one of the peaks is a peak 2 at a pore size of not less than 0.3 μm and less than 1.0 μm, and the pore volume of the peak 2 being greater than 3.1% of the total pore volume.

LOW TEMPERATURE CO OXIDATION CATALYST

The present disclosure is directed to a low temperature carbon monoxide (LT-CO) oxidation catalyst composition for abatement of exhaust gas emissions from a lean burn engine. The LT-CO oxidation catalyst composition includes an oxygen storage component (OSC), a first platinum group metal (PGM) component, and a promoter metal, wherein the OSC is impregnated with the first PGM component and the promoter metal and the LT-CO oxidation catalyst composition is effective for oxidizing carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) under cold start conditions. Further provided are catalytic articles including the LT-CO oxidation catalyst composition, which may optionally further include a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) composition (giving an LT-CO/DOC article). Further provided is an exhaust gas treatment system including such catalytic articles, and methods for reducing a HC or CO level in an exhaust gas stream using such catalytic articles.

ZEOLITE NANOTUBES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USE THEREOF

Disclosed herein are nanostructured hierarchical zeolitic materials comprising: a plurality of zeolite nanotubes, each zeolite nanotube comprising a zeolitic wall perforated by a plurality of pores, the zeolitic wall defining a single longitudinal lumen. Also disclosed herein are bolaform structure directing agents comprising: a first hydrophilic end and a second hydrophilic end with a hydrophobic core therebetween; the hydrophobic core comprising one or more aromatic rings and one or more hydrophobic alkyl groups; the one or more aromatic rings comprising a biphenyl group; the one or more hydrophobic alkyl groups each independently comprising a C.sub.10 alkyl group; and the first hydrophilic end and the second hydrophilic end each independently comprising a quinuclidinium group. Also disclosed herein are methods of making and use of the plurality of zeolite nanotubes and the bolaform structure directing agents.
