Fenton reactor with gaseous agitation
A Fenton apparatus of the present disclosure includes a reactor vessel, gas injection inlets that allow ejection of aeration coolant perpendicular to axis of the reactor vessel to agitate a reaction composition present in the reactor vessel under vortex conditions, a jacket cooling loop encasing the reactor vessel to allow circulation of a jacket coolant selected from a group consisting of forced air, nitrogen gas, and water, a coil cooling loop coiling around the reactor vessel to allow circulation of a coil coolant selected from a group consisting of forced air, nitrogen gas, water, and carbon dioxide. Multiple programmable solenoid valves are provided to individually control injection of the aeration coolant, the jacket coolant, and the coil coolant. A controller is provided to communicate with a temperature sensor and each programmable solenoid valve.
JACKETED VESSEL
A jacketed vessel for temperature control of contents within the vessel is provided. The vessel has a shell and an external jacket through which heating or cooling fluid is circulated. The jacket is formed by a length of conduit arranged in a spiral orientation around the vessel shell. The conduit has a center portion having a concave inner surface and has opposing side portions having convex inner surfaces. Edge sections of each side portion are welded to the exterior surface of the shell to form the jacket. Edge sections of adjacent arcs of conduit may be simultaneously welded to the shell in a single weld pass. The shape of the conduit provides improved heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics, as well as improvements in the vessel manufacturing process.
Advanced oxidation process for the exfoliation of two dimensional matertals
A system for extracting two dimensional materials from a bulk material by functionalization of the bulk material in a reactor.
Corrosion-protected reformer tube with internal heat exchange
A reformer tube for producing synthesis gas by steam reforming of hydrocarbon-containing input gases is proposed where an outer shell tube is divided by means of a separating tray into a reaction chamber and an exit chamber, a dumped bed of a steam-reforming-active solid catalyst is arranged in the reaction chamber, at least one heat exchanger tube is arranged inside the reaction chamber and inside the dumped catalyst bed, whose entry end is in fluid connection with the dumped catalyst bed and whose exit end is in fluid connection with the exit chamber, the exit end of the heat exchanger tube is fed through the separating tray and opens out into a corrosion-protected inner tube which is disposed in the interior of the shell tube and is in fluid connection with a collection conduit for the synthesis gas product, and a gas-permeable thermal insulation layer is arranged between the inner wall of the shell tube and the outer wall of the inner tube.
CONTINUOUS MANUFACTURE OF GRAPHENIC COMPOUNDS
Provided herein are high throughput continuous or semi-continuous reactors and processes for manufacturing graphenic materials, such as graphene. Such processes are suitable for manufacturing graphenic materials at rates that are up to hundreds of times faster than conventional techniques, and have little batch-to-batch variation. Also provided herein are graphenic compositions of matter, including large, high quality and/or highly uniform graphene.
Ferritic steel parts in urea plants
The application provides in an aspect a process for producing urea in a urea plant comprising a high pressure synthesis section comprising a reactor, wherein the process comprises reacting NH.sub.3 feed and CO.sub.2 feed under urea formation conditions in said reactor to form a urea synthesis solution comprising urea, water, carbamate and ammonia, wherein the process further comprises contacting a carbamate-containing liquid stream with an equipment part of said high pressure synthesis section that is made of a ferritic steel alloy.
Universal Chemical Processor with Radioisotope Source
A universal chemical processor (UCP) including a reactor vessel having a central longitudinal axis and main chamber comprises a first inlet port for a main feedstock, a second inlet port for a fluidizing medium and a third inlet port for one or more reactants. The UCP also includes a reactive radioactive chemical processor (R.sup.2CP) that contains a radioactive element positioned extending along the longitudinal axis in the main chamber. In operation, a fluidized bed can be supported in the main chamber when a fluidizing medium and feedstock are supplied to the main chamber through the first and second inlet ports and the radioactive element of the R.sup.2CP emits ionizing radiation that is capable of ionizing feedstock and reactants, inducing chemical reactions, and sterilizing and decomposing any organic materials within a radiation zone.
Method for modifying fluorine distribution in a hydrocarbon compound
The present invention relates to a process for modifying the fluorine distribution in a hydrocarbon compound, comprising a step of making contact between said hydrocarbon compound and a catalytic composition comprising a chromium-based catalyst, said process being performed in a reactor made of a material comprising a base layer made of a material M1 and an inner layer made of a material M2, said base layer and said inner layer being laid against each other by bonding.
