DEVICES AND METHODS FOR HANDLING BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS
Device and method for handling biological specimens. For example, the device includes a base and a substrate. The substrate includes a first surface disposed on the base and a second surface configured to support a biological specimen. A compressive element is disposed on the second surface of the substrate and surrounds the biological specimen. The compressive element includes an opening opposite the second surface of the substrate on which the compressive element is placed. The opening is configured to form a well that allows one or more reagents to be introduced into the well for chemically processing the biological specimen. The compressive element and the base cooperate to secure the compressive element to the substrate to form a seal which is configured to retain the one or more reagents in the well.
Process tube and carrier tray
The disclosure provides a system and method to safely and efficiently store and transport process tubes in a carrier tray comprising prior to and during amplification of nucleotides in the process tubes. The process tube disclosed includes a securement region having an annular ledge, a neck, and a protrusion. The securement region of the process tube can secure the process tube in a port of the carrier tray, but still allows the process tube to adjust or float in order to align the process tube into a rigid heater well of a thermal cycler.
ROUGHLY CYLINDRICAL SAMPLE CONTAINERS HAVING MULTIPLE RESERVOIRS THEREIN AND BEING ADAPTED FOR ACOUSTIC EJECTIONS
Provided herein is generally tubular container, preferably including a plurality of reservoirs defined therein. The container can be adapted for acoustic ejection of a fluid disposed within at least one of the reservoirs of the plurality of reservoirs. Alternatively, the container can be adapted for extraction of a fluid disposed within at least one of the reservoirs of the plurality of reservoirs using a non-acoustic liquid handling method.
Reaction receptacle
A receptacle includes an upper portion having a cylindrical portion and an open end and a lower portion depending from the upper portion, where the lower portion is tapered and has a closed bottom end. The receptacle may include a radially-extending annular ring with a flat or sloped bottom surface and disposed on an outer surface of the receptacle at a transition between the upper portion and the lower portion and/or a radially-projecting lip circumscribing the open end, which may be configured for inter-locking engagement with a mated cap inserted into the open end of the upper portion. Embodiments may include one or more longitudinally-oriented grooves formed in an inner surface of the upper portion. The receptacle may be a unitary plastic structure.
Incubation device and system comprising incubation device and rocking platform
An incubation device has multiple rocking platforms with each platform pivotally mounted about a respective axis. Each rocking platform has a respective receiving device for mechanically reversibly receiving a respective incubation channel. The device also has a common drive unit for common respective rocking movements of each platform from a zero position through with a specific angle range as a result of movement of the drive unit. Each rocking platform is coupled to the drive unit via a respective coupling mechanism, and each coupling mechanism elastically and resiliently couples the respective rocking platform to the drive unit, such that when the rocking platform is restrained, despite continuation of the drive movement, the rocking platform remains motionless in a fixed position. After release of the restraint on the rocking platform, the rocking platform resumes the rocking movement with the specific angle range.
ULTRA-RAPID PCR DETECTION SYSTEM AND DETECTION METHOD
The present invention discloses an ultra-rapid PCR detection system, which comprises a temperature control device, a transmission device and a reaction tube fixing device; the temperature control device at least comprises two temperature control modules, wherein at least one of the temperature control modules is a high-temperature module and at least one of the temperature control modules is a low-temperature module; a heating temperature of the high-temperature module is a first preset temperature, and a heating temperature of the low-temperature module is a second preset temperature; the transmission device is in cooperation with the temperature control device and the reaction tube fixing device, so that a reaction tube on the reaction tube fixing device is switched between the high-temperature module and the low-temperature module; the device has a compact structure and the temperature setting of the high-temperature module and the low-temperature module can promote the rising and falling rate of the temperature of the reaction mixture in the reaction tube, in addition, the rapid fluorescence PCR detection system of the present invention has good repeatability of detection results and accurate results.
PREPARATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING A CELL SUSPENSION FOR AN ANALYTICAL METHOD
A preparation system for preparing a cell suspension having a carrier on which a reactor housing and a magnet system are accommodated, wherein, in the reactor housing, a reaction channel is formed, which extends between an inlet opening arranged centrally on an upper side of the reactor housing and an outlet opening arranged on the outside of the reactor housing and which is bounded by a channel wall, the magnet system being received on the carrier so as to be relatively movable between a first functional position, to bear with a pole face against the channel wall of the reaction channel and a second functional position to assume with the pole face a predetermined distance relative to the channel wall, and having a reactor housing drive for initiating a rotational movement on the reactor housing.
CAP HAVING A RIBBED INNER SURFACE
A cap having a lower portion, an upper portion with an opening formed therein, and a plurality of longitudinally oriented ribs disposed on an inner surface of the cap. The inner surface of the cap is defined by the opening formed in the upper portion of the cap, and each rib is associated with a concave recess disposed directly opposite the rib on an outer surface of the upper portion of the cap. The recess extends along at least part of the length of the rib.
