In a system for depositing a matrix film by nebulizing a matrix solution to a sample plate on which a sample is placed, a chamber is filled with a dry gas by supplying the dry gas into the chamber in a state where the sample plate is housed in the chamber (step S12), thereafter, the supply of the dry gas to the chamber is stopped (step S14), and in this state, a solution containing a matrix substance used for a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization method is nebulized toward the sample plate (step S15). As a result, it is possible to enhance the extraction efficiency of the measurement target component in the sample into the matrix solution while suppressing the size of the crystal particles formed on the sample plate, and it is possible to stably achieve high spatial resolution and high detection sensitivity in mass spectrometry imaging.

A sealing element seals a transition between a body of a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, and an attachment of a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, in particular a paint nozzle. The sealing element is configured so that it forms an axially acting sealing surface and a radially acting sealing surface with the body and/or the attachment when the attachment is arranged in body. An attachment, in particular a paint nozzle arrangement for a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, and a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun can each have such a sealing element. Due to the axially acting sealing surface and the radially acting sealing surface, the sealing element provides a significantly improved sealing effect relative to sealing elements of the prior art.

A method for preserving cavities by applying a protective layer to the interior of a hollow body. The method uses a mixing nozzle unit coupled to a rotor unit. The mixing nozzle unit is rotated about an axis of rotation and has a mixing nozzle. The mixing nozzle unit has two supply channels for the cavity preservative and for gas for atomizing the cavity preservative. The supply channels run in the direction of the axis of rotation and conduct cavity preservative and atomizing gas separately to the mixing nozzle. The mixing nozzle unit is inserted into the hollow body in the direction of the axis of rotation through an opening in the hollow body. The cavity preservative is discharged in atomized form, and the mixing nozzle unit is rotated about the axis of rotation relative to the hollow body during the discharging or between a plurality of discharging phases.

A nozzle arrangement for a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, has at least one paint nozzle and an air cap. The paint nozzle has at least one outlet opening for the material to be sprayed and the air cap has at least one central opening which is bounded by at least one wall. The at least one wall forms a gap with at least one part of the paint nozzle, and a forward part of the paint nozzle has at least an inner face, an outer face and an end face. The end face of the paint nozzle encloses, at least in certain regions, an angle of greater than 90° or an angle of less than 90° with an outer face or an inner face of the paint nozzle. In the nozzle arrangements, the back-pressure counter to the outflow of the material to be sprayed is lower than in prior art nozzles. A spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, having such a nozzle arrangement is also disclosed.

Infectious diseases may be acquired in public areas such as transportation terminals, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, restaurants and hotels. Large surface areas may be disinfected using a spray system to distribute a suitable fluid such as a disinfectant. Many existing spray systems are large and unwieldy causing operator fatigue. Some spray systems have large, heavy external tanks that provide fluid to the spray system using an external fluid hose. Disclosed is an improved portable spraying system that may be carried by a system operator. The improved system has a tank, a pump, a valve, a nozzle, and a fan all powered by a battery. The tank, the pump, and the battery are arranged to minimize operator fatigue. With the valve set to the priming position, fluid recirculates to prime the pump. Once the pump is primed, the valve is turned to the spray position to begin spraying.
