A main body for a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, has at least one head region for attachment of a nozzle arrangement. The head region has at least one inner wall, one outer wall and one middle wall arranged therebetween. The walls are formed in encircling fashion and in one piece with the main body, with the front end of the middle wall set back in relation to the front end of the outer wall along an axis. This main body does not require any additional sealing element for sealing between the atomization air region and horn air region. The middle wall is well protected against damage even when a nozzle has been unscrewed, and the gun head can be of very compact design.

FLUID TIP
20200030831 · 2020-01-30 ·

A fluid tip for use with a spray gun. The fluid tip comprises an air cap and a paint nozzle. The air cap comprises an inner surface 206 and the paint nozzle comprises an outer surface 208. The inner and outer surfaces define sides of an air channel 203. The inner and outer surfaces are defined by contours, each contour terminating to form an air channel outlet 207 for discharging an air jet proximal a paint nozzle outlet of the paint nozzle. The contours are configured to provide a velocity profile 400 across the air channel outlet 207 of an air flow 401 through the air channel 203 in which velocities of air radially closer to the paint nozzle outlet are substantially higher than velocities radially further from the paint nozzle outlet.

Dispensing Nozzle Design and Dispensing Method Thereof

An apparatus for dispensing fluid includes a fluid source; a nozzle having an inner layer and an outer layer, the inner layer defining a bore in fluid communication with the fluid source; and a plurality of pins each moveable to be in physical contact with the outer layer, wherein the plurality of pins is operable to apply a force towards the outer layer to adjust a cross-section of the bore.

SPRAY GUN NOZZLE
20240100550 · 2024-03-28 ·

An air-cap nozzle 103b for discharging an atomising air jet 101b for atomising paint from a spray gun, the air cap nozzle comprising a tip surface having an atomizing air outlet 100b and a rim region 102b surrounding the outlet. The rim region 102b comprises a continuous serrated portion formed by a plurality of protrusions 104 that protrude axially outward from the rim region 100b of the tip surface. The protrusions 104 are separated by valleys 105 configured to permit entrainment of ambient air by the atomising air jet 101b, the entrained ambient air being drawn through the valleys. The permitted entrainment provides mixing between the entrained ambient air and the atomising air jet 101b.

STATIONARY MIX CHAMBER

A fast-set, plural component, spray applicator (12) includes a stationary mix chamber (48) to eliminate dynamic metal-to-metal high pressure fluid sealing. The stationary mix chamber (48) mixes the plural components before dispensing the mixed components from the spray applicator.

Spray gun kit, associated method of use and gun

A kit for a spray gun including a sleeve delimiting an inner volume provided to contain a pressurized fluid, the sleeve being configured to be connected to a main body of a spray gun, the sleeve having a radial periphery delimiting a fluid outlet of the sleeve and at least one orifice emerging on the radial periphery and fluidly connecting the inner volume and the radial periphery, a connector having an intake end connected to the fluid outlet and a connecting end suitable for being connected to a cup so as to fluidly connect the cup to the inner volume of the sleeve, and a ring surrounding the sleeve and covering the fluid outlet outside the intake end of the connector.

Method of applying heat shield material to piston

A method of applying heat shield material to form a heat shield layer on a crown surface of a piston of an engine is provided. The method includes the steps of disposing a dispenser that linearly discharges the heat shield material toward the crown surface, and moving an applied position of the heat shield material with respect to the crown surface in a circumferential direction of the crown surface, while discharging the heat shield material from the dispenser toward the crown surface.

Semi concentric enhanced parallel path pneumatic nebulizer
11944993 · 2024-04-02 ·

A semi concentric enhanced parallel path pneumatic nebulizer is described which has a nebulizer body with an inner capillary and outer passage, with liquid flow in one and gas flow in the other. The passage extends around the inner capillary and contacts the inner capillary's outer walls at the tip of the nebulizer body in a nozzle end. The inner capillary has a single lumen which conveys a fluid from an inlet on one end of the nebulizer to an exit port in the nozzle end. The inner capillary seals the passage within the nozzle end and has an opening in the capillary wall extending from the outermost edge of the capillary to the passage in the nebulizer body, allowing the fluid in the passage to exit the nebulizer through an exit port in the capillary wall. The fluids, being a gas and a liquid, interact to form an aerosol.

Air caps with face geometry inserts for liquid spray guns

Provided are air caps for liquid spray head assemblies and/or for liquid spray guns. Specifically provided are molded air caps with face geometry inserts. Face geometry inserts provided herein may be effective to provide refined spray patterns. The face geometry inserts are components that are self-aligning in that location, size, and spacing of air and/or liquid openings are designed into in a single piece. The air caps comprise a base member comprising: a base member body, at least one pair of exit air openings, a nozzle tip opening; and a face geometry insert comprising a pair of shaping air apertures and being retained to the base member body.
