Liquid supply system for a gravity feed spray device

A system is provided for venting a container used to supply a liquid to a spray coating device. The system may include a container cover having a buffer chamber, a liquid conduit configured to extend into a liquid container, a first vent conduit that extends into the buffer chamber, and a second vent conduit that extends from the buffer chamber to the liquid container.

Nozzle assembly with external baffles

Provided are nozzle assemblies and related methods for a spraying apparatus. The nozzle assembly includes a fluid side wall defining a fluid passageway that extends longitudinally along a fluid axis and terminates in a fluid aperture; an air cap side wall extending around the fluid side wall and partially defining an air passageway that terminates in an atomizing aperture adjacent the fluid aperture. A pair of diametrically opposed air horns protrude past the fluid aperture from the air cap side wall and define respective air horn cavities in communication with the air passageway, each air horn having an external surface and a fan control aperture extending along a fan control axis through the external surface to flow air against a fluid stream discharged from the fluid aperture. The fan control aperture has a certain aperture shape defined along a reference plane perpendicular to the fan control axis, and for each air horn, a baffle projects into a volumetric shape defined by extruding the certain aperture shape outwardly along the fan control axis. The baffle modifies the shaping air jets between the fan control apertures and the atomized fluid stream to provide a refined spray pattern.

Reservoir systems for hand-held spray guns and methods of use

A reservoir system for use with a spray gun. The system includes a cup receptacle and a lid. The lid includes a lid body and a collar. The lid body provides a spout and a platform surrounding the spout. At least a portion of the platform forms a partial helical shape revolving about a central axis of the spout. The collar is rotatably connected to the lid body. Further, the collar includes a lid connector structure configured to connect the lid to the cup receptacle. In some embodiments, the reservoir system further includes one or more of an adaptor, a plug and a shaker core.

Vehicle compounding system

A compounding system for use in finishing a vehicle having a vehicle body having painted surfaces. The compounding system employs a spray gun having a nozzle having a fluid opening that is substantially 3 millimeters in diameter and a reservoir in communication with the fluid opening. Compressed air selectively flows past the fluid opening to atomize the compound paste into a compound spray that is used to cover all of the painted surfaces of the vehicle with a thin, uniform coating in a single step. The compound paste is removed by buffing all painted surfaces on the vehicle body to a shine in a single step.

An aerosol spray gun that holds an aerosol can to aid in dispensing it's contents. A main arm inside the body has a trigger on a rear side of a main pivot and on a forward side has tab and a forward pivot. A nozzle assembly with an open center is at a forward side of the body. The aerosol spray and fan-forced air pass through the open center during dispensing. When the trigger is pulled the main arm articulates about the main pivot causing the forward side of the main arm to move down simultaneously pressing the valve on the aerosol can down and moving the nozzle assembly down so that the aerosol spray and the open center of the nozzle assembly always remain concentric.
