The positional relationship between the support and the weir is determined such that, if a line that connects the shaft center of the support and a point which is the end edge of the weir and which is closest to the support is defined as a straight line and if a point where the straight line intersects with the outer periphery of the support is defined as an intersection point, a straight line that is perpendicular to the straight line and that passes through the midpoint of a line segment does not intersect with the coating bar.

An adhesive application apparatus is provided. The apparatus uses a rolled on adhesive applied to a substrate. After roll application, an adhesive activator is sprayed onto the substrate. By spraying an activator onto the substrate after the adhesive is applied, the adhesive may be made tacky for adhesion, but the adhesive used for rolling may be highly stable and slow to dry/cure without said activator, which enhances rolled application effectiveness.

The electrode plate manufacturing apparatus includes: a flow passage roll having a flow passage thereinside and an outer circumferential surface disposed to be in contact with an outer circumferential surface of at least one of the first roll, the second roll, and the third roll; and a circulating unit circulating a fluid through the flow passage. The circulating unit circulates the fluid through the flow passage of the flow passage roll during manufacturing the electrode plate.

Process for the Manufacturing of a Steel Strip for Packaging and Associated Equipment

A process for continuous manufacturing of steel strips for packaging coated with a passivation layer is provided. The layer is an aqueous passivation solution, the thickness of which is less than 3 m and the viscosity of which is less than 1.5.Math.10.sup.3 Pa.Math.s at 20 C., and is deposited on one of the faces of the strip. This depositing is carried out by a transfer roller in contact with the strip and with a second coating roller, the surface of which has a plurality of hexagonally shaped cells, the line count of which is between 50 and 200 lines per centimeter, and the total volume of which is between 5.Math.10.sup.6 and 10.Math.10.sup.6 m.sup.3 per square meter of roller surface. The coating roller is fed with aqueous passivation solution by dipping in a tank equipped with wiping means and the strip runs at a speed greater than or equal to 400 m/m. An apparatus for implementation of the process is also provided.

A counter-pressure roller, together with the second roller or another roller arranged between the counter-pressure roller and the second roller, forms a second gap through which the carrier substrate to be coated can be guided for having the dry film applied to the carrier substrate. The first gap between the first and second rollers can be adjusted based on a position-based positioning drive by being set to a constant and/or defined gap width, and the second gap can be adjusted based on a force-based positioning drive, and can be set to a constant and/or defined contact force or linear force.
