A CARCASS PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD
20190320666 · 2019-10-24 ·

A carcass cutting system including a belt positioned below a conveyor such as to stabilise a carcass during imaging and/or cutting operations. An offset section of conveyor track in the region of the belt may be utilized to urge the carcass against the belt. Imagining may use an optical imaging system, an X-ray imaging system, a laser scanning camera, a time of flight camera or a Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry system. Imaging information may be used to calculate cutting paths and/or weight distribution of carcass portions. Cutting may be performed by a robotic cutter using a circular saw or a circular knife.

A system for processing a suspended beef carcass as the carcass is moved along a defined path. A robotic arm is carried on a moveable table and has mounted thereon a servo motor-driven band saw capable of effecting a splitting operation on the beef carcass. The band saw is counterbalanced by a mass having a weight less than the weight of the band saw, and the robotic arm has a maximum load-carrying capacity less than the weight of the band saw. A torque monitor for the servo motor detects breaks in the band saw or breaks in the support for the band saw. A vision-based sensor system detects location of a tail bone on the beef carcass and identifies an age-indicating indicia. The system includes a controller in communication with the carcass rail, the carcass processing device and motor, and the vision-based sensor system.

Cutting system for cutting carcass parts while the carcass parts are carried by carriers connected to and moved by an overhang transport system

A cutting system is provided for cutting carcass parts while the carcass parts are carried by carriers connected to and moved by an overhang transport system. A detection device is provided for determining a cutting position of an incoming carcass part. At least one cutting device having an upwardly and downwardly facing surface structure is provided and a moving mechanism is mechanically connected to the at least one cutting device for controlling the position of the at least one cutting device on the basis of the determined cutting position. A carcass displacement device is arranged to initiate displacement of the carcass part away from the at least one cutting position while the carcass part or a resulting sub-part carried by a carrier and is located between the upstream cutting edge and the downstream edge.

The disclosed technology includes a food system that prepares food based on a user's preferences and environment (e.g., health and diet, tastes, availability of food, costs, location, and what is stored or available for the food preparation system). The food system can store, cool, serve, prepare, juice, recognize with an antenna array, cut, weigh, sanitize, or compost food. The food system can include a robotic arm or water jet for cutting a food item. The disclosed technology improves food consumption for users based on diet and observed behavior (e.g., tracking caloric intake and exercise).

SENSORISED KNIFE-BLADE CUTTING SYSTEM

A cutting system comprising a knife blade, a radio-frequency or microwave transmission system for transmitting a radio-frequency or microwave signal to the knife blade, a sensing system for sensing a parameter of a reflection of the radio-frequency or microwave signal and a processing system configured to analyse the parameter to determine a property of an environment adjacent the knife blade.

Tool for removal of meat pieces such as tenderloin from a carcass

The invention relates to a tool for manual or especially automatic removal of tenderloins from half-carcasses of slaughtered animals. The tool comprises a circular knife blade, a blade housing supporting the knife blade, and a movable knife blade protector. The tool is connected to a motor capable of driving the knife blade. A tenderloin is partly cut free with the knife, the knife blade protector is activated to protect the knife blade and the tool is used to pull the tenderloin free from the half-carcass without damaging the tenderloin with the knife. The tool can be arranged on a robot and can be used for automatic removal of tenderloins from half-carcasses at slaughterhouses.

CARCASS CLEANING TOOL
20180310571 · 2018-11-01 ·

A carcass cleaning tool for removing dag from a suspended carcass has a body with at least one handle mounted to it for allowing an operator to hold the tool away from them. A driver is mounted in the body and rotates a head having a shaft extending therefrom. A plurality of arms extend from the shaft and have tines at distal ends, the tines adapted to engage the animal carcass to remove dag from the carcass hide. The head is oriented to permit movement of the arms and tines in front of the tool operator. A suspension point for hanging the body from an overhead support permits the operator to move the tool arms and tines toward and away from the carcass to remove the dag without damaging the carcass hide. The tool body never makes contact with the ground as a result of using the suspension point.

Method and plant for inspecting an animal carcass

An animal carcass is moved along a movement trajectory which passes through an inspection zone between at least one X-ray emitter and at least one X-ray detector, which are stationary relative to the inspection zone. X-ray detections are performed at successive moments during movement of the animal carcass through the inspection zone, the animal carcass being made to rotate around an axis of rotation which is transversal to lines of propagation of X-rays emitted by the at least one X-ray emitter in the inspection zone, so that what is obtained is a plurality of two-dimensional radiographic images of the animal carcass in different angular positions around the axis of rotation. The two-dimensional radiographic images are processed to determine a cutting pattern and/or a structure of the animal carcass, such as a position of bones, fat and/or lean parts in the animal carcass.
