Method and apparatus for handling a product
A method for handling a product, in particular a viscous, pasty product, with at least one rotating shaft (3, 11) in a product space (5), a driving spindle (11) of the shaft (3) is mounted and sealed outside the product space (5) in a housing consisting of a plurality of parts (7, 8, 12). The sealing is brought about by at least two seals (2, 4), wherein a dynamic seal (2) follows an eccentric movement of the shaft (3) and takes on dynamic sealing of the rotating shaft (3), while another seal (4) compensates for an eccentric movement of the shaft (3) in relation to the housing by plastic or elastic deformation and therefore prevents a leakage between the housing part (12), which moves eccentrically, and a rigid housing (10). A defined quantity of liquid, which serves as a blocking agent and lubricant for the dynamic seal (2) of the shaft (3) towards the housing part (7), is metered in here, the liquid, apart from a residual excess, being drawn into the dynamic seal (2) by a pressure difference therewithin and thereby forming an effective block and seal.
Device for producing a multicomponent mixture
A device for producing a multicomponent mixture having a mixing chamber which is surrounded by a chamber wall, the device further includes an outlet for a multicomponent mixture and into which at least two component valves and at least one flushing valve open, the flushing valve being in connection on the inlet side with a temperature control channel system which is associated with the chamber wall and through which water can flow.
Hydration systems and methods
A substantially continuous stream of aqueous fluid and a substantially continuous stream of gel having a first concentration are combined to form a substantially continuous stream of gel having a second concentration. The second concentration is substantially lower than the first concentration. The gel having the second concentration may thereafter be utilized in conjunction with a well fracturing operation.

Heat-resistant crosslinked fluorocarbon rubber formed body and method for producing the same, silane master batch, master batch mixture and formed body thereof, and heat-resistant product
A method for producing a heat-resistant crosslinked fluorocarbon rubber formed body, comprising: (a) a step of melt-kneading 0.003 to 0.5 part by mass of an organic peroxide, 0.5 to 400 parts by mass of an inorganic filler, and more than 2.0 parts by mass and 15.0 parts by mass or less of a silane coupling agent, with respect to 100 parts by mass of a base rubber containing a fluorocarbon rubber, at a temperature equal to or higher than a decomposition temperature of the organic peroxide, to prepare a silane master batch; a heat-resistant crosslinked fluorocarbon rubber formed body obtained by the method, a silane master batch, a mixture and a formed body thereof, and a heat-resistant product.
Torpedo for extruder
A torpedo for an extruder comprises: longitudinal member (9) which is provided at the periphery thereof with a plurality of thread portions (12) which protrude outwards and which are spaced apart in the circumferential direction; a plurality of sluice blades (19) which are mounted so as to be movable on the longitudinal member and which are partially engaged in apertures (18) of the longitudinal member, the longitudinal member (9) and the sluice blades (19) being provided with complementary radial guiding surfaces (13, 14, 18) which are in contact with each other; and adjustment means (28) for radially displacing the sluice blades relative to the longitudinal member. The sluice blades extend through the spaces between the thread portions, respectively. The thread portions (12) and the sluice blades (19) are provided with complementary radial guiding surfaces (13, 14, 18).
METHOD TO PRODUCE FUNCTIONALIZED ETHYLENE-BASED POLYMERS
A process to form a “functionalized ethylene-based polymer” from a first composition comprising an ethylene-based polymer and at least one polar compound, and at least one peroxide, said process comprising at least the following: a) thermally treating the first composition, in at least one extruder comprising at least one barrel, to form the functionalized ethylene-based polymer; b) extruding the functionalized ethylene-based polymer, in melt form, to form an extrudate; c) cooling the extrudate; and d) pelletizing the extrudate; and wherein the “efficiency of the peroxide consumption, after the thermal treatment, is ≥91 wt % within the at least one extruder; and wherein the “normalized feed rate” at which the process is nm is ≥0.0018 (lbs/hr)/(mm).sup.3; and wherein, for step c), after the extrudate exits the extruder, and before the extrudate is pelletized, the extrudate is cooled in a cooling medium to a pelletization temperature, T.sub.pel in ° C.), ≤ the crystallization temperature T.sub.c (in ° C.) of the functionalized ethylene-based polymer.
APPARATUS COMPRISING INDUCTION HEATING ELEMENTS FOR PREPARING A POLYAMIDE POLYMER
A chemical vessel utilizing induction heating elements and useful for preparing polyamides, such as nylon. The vessel can utilize an array of induction heating elements located inside a process chamber. Also described are a vessel, a heat exchanger, a process, and an apparatus useful for polyamide preparation.
Device and method for producing a dyed and an undyed plastic melt
A device for producing a dyed plastic melt and an undyed plastic melt includes a multi-shaft screw extruder, a first metering installation, a second metering installation, and a control installation for selecting between a first operating mode for producing the dyed plastic melt and a second operating mode for producing the undyed plastic melt. The first metering installation serves for feeding an undyed plastic material through a first infeed opening into a housing of the multi-shaft screw extruder, and the second metering installation serves for feeding at least one color granulate through a second infeed opening into the housing. The plastic material is fed exclusively by way of the first infeed opening such that residual color granulate or dyeing agent contained therein, respectively, which is still located in the second metering installation or in the region of the second infeed opening does not contaminate the undyed plastic melt.
Guayule latex extrusion
A latex processing system and method involves mixing a latex and at least one solvent blend in an extruder, in order to remove resin found in the latex and to coagulate the latex to form a coagulum. The at least one solvent blend has a first solvent configured to coagulate the latex, and a second solvent configured to swell the resulting coagulum. In particular, a series of the solvent blends may be used at different locations along a length of the extruder, and may further include distinct blends of the first solvent and the second solvent, introduced at the different locations, and having different ratios of the first solvent and the second solvent.
