Method and apparatus for applying annular doses

A method and an apparatus for forming annular doses provides a flow of plasticised material supplied by an extruder which passes through a channel that is first cylindrical and then annular. The material exits from an annular outlet in front of which a cutting element passes that separates an annular dose of material. The dose is deposited on a surface of a capsule having a capacity to adhere to the dose that is greater than the cutting element. The surface and the cutting element are distanced from one another in such a manner that the annular dose remaining adhering to the capsule is detached from the element. Detachment can be promoted by a flow of air.

Method and device for continuously modifying a polymer melt made of non-extracted polyamide 6 with one or more additives
10899060 · 2021-01-26 ·

A method and a device for admixing additives into a polymer melt made of non-extracted polyamide 6 are disclosed. The polymer melt is combined in a highly concentrated form with an additional melt flow without additives and mixed therewith. Additionally, a part of the melt is branched off from a main melt flow (3), wherein the sub-melt flow (4) is transported into a dispersing device (5) and is supplied and mixed with one or more additives (12). The side-melt flow (4) with additives is then returned into the main melt flow (3), mixed with the main melt flow, and subsequently supplied for further processing.

Pump feeder and method of mixing edible material

A pump feeder includes a hopper, a first mixing paddle, a second mixing paddle, a first auger, a second auger and dual outlets. The hopper receives edible material in the form of a thick, viscous base and mix-ins, and includes an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The first and second mixing paddles are located within the upper chamber and cause movement of the edible material within the upper chamber for both breaking apart and mixing of the edible material. The first and second augers are located within the lower chamber and cause movement of the edible material from a first end of the lower chamber to a second end of the lower chamber. The outlets are located at the second end of the lower chamber and connected to an inlet of a pump which further compresses the mixed edible material for delivery to an extruder die and cutting assembly.
