High Tg monolithic poly(vinyl acetal) sheet
A polyvinyl acetal poly(vinyl acetal), such as polyvinyl butyral, resin formulation, a method of extruding poly(vinyl acetal) resins, and related materials and products that provide for monolithic poly(vinyl acetal) sheets and glass panes having high Tg of at least 50 C. and high modulus at acceptable rates as indicated by their high melt flow index. This is made possible by a reduction in the amount of plasticizer while using a low molecular weight resin not to exceed 160,000 to obtain a thermoplastic resin having a high melt flow index and high Tg. The articles made with these monolithic interlayer sheets can be used in applications that require good modulus at outdoor temperatures.
POLYMER COMPOSITES
A composition including 6 to 50 weight percent wood pulp fiber and 45 to 93.45 weight percent thermoplastic polymer. In some embodiments, the average dispersion of the wood pulp fibers within the thermoplastic polymer is equal to or greater than 90% as determined by the Dispersion Test. In some embodiments, the dilution level for detection in a bang at 40 C. is equal to or less than 450 as determined by ASTM E679. In some embodiments, the composition further includes 0.5 to 5 weight percent of an additive, such as a compatibilizer, a coupling agent, an anti-oxidant, and/or a lubricant. In some embodiments, the wood pulp fiber is bleached chemical wood pulp fiber.
COMPOSITE POROUS MEMBRANE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND USE THEREOF
A composite porous membrane contains at least one porous base layer and at least one uniaxially stretched coating layer located on at least one side surface of the porous base layer. For example, the composite porous membrane comprises at least one porous base layer and at least one nanofiber-like non-polyolefin polymer porous layer oriented along the transverse stretching direction of the composite porous membrane and located on one or two side surfaces of the porous base layer, or the composite porous membrane comprises a biaxially stretched polypropylene porous base layer and a uniaxially stretched coating layer located on at least one side surface of the porous base layer. The composite porous membrane is coated with a coating solution prior to transversely stretching. The nanofiber-like non-polyolefin polymer porous layer may reduce cracking of the composite porous membrane in the machine direction.
THERMOPLASTIC ARTIFICIAL LEATHER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME AND THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE LAMINATE
A thermoplastic artificial leather includes a thermoplastic composite laminate and a textile base. The thermoplastic composite laminate includes a foamed thermoplastic elastic layer, an unfoamed thermoplastic elastic layer and a thermoplastic adhesive layer. The foamed thermoplastic elastic layer has a first surface, a second surface and a plurality of foamed structures. The second surface is opposite to the first surface. The unfoamed thermoplastic elastic layer is disposed on the first surface of the foamed thermoplastic elastic layer. The thermoplastic adhesive layer is disposed on the second surface of the foamed thermoplastic elastic layer. The textile base is laminated on the thermoplastic adhesive layer of the thermoplastic composite laminate.
MACHINE SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING OR TREATING SYNTHETIC THREADS
Techniques involve a machine system for producing or treating synthetic threads, comprising a plurality of machine components, having actuators and/or sensors, that are associated with a plurality of control components. The control components are connected by a machine network to a central machine control station. In order to remedy process disruptions as quickly as possible and to ensure uniform product quality, the control components are coupled in parallel to a central analysis station by an analysis network.
EXTRUDER SCREW FOR A MULTI-SCREW EXTRUDER FOR PLASTICS EXTRUSION
An extruder screw for a multi-screw extruder for plastics extrusion includes: a feeding and metering zone for melting and homogenizing the plastic and an evacuating zone for carrying away gaseous constituents and a compressing and/or discharging zone; a multi-screw section, which has a plurality of planetary screws, which lie open on the outer circumference of the extruder screw, at least over part of their length; and a driving zone, in which the planetary screws engage by way of a toothing in an external toothing on a central shaft or in an internal toothing in a stator ring or in the inner wall of an extruder bore of the multi-screw extruder. The feeding and metering zone extends into the multi-screw section, wherein the respective part of the planetary screws that is lying in the metering zone is at least partially enclosed.
Method and apparatus for continuously producing a semi-finished product for the production of self-sealing tyres
An apparatus for producing a semi-finished product with a strip of sealing compound for building tyres, having at least one unsaturated styrene thermoplastic elastomer, one bonding resin and one cross-linking agent is described.
Apparatus for forming a polymeric web
The present invention is directed to an apparatus for forming a multi-layer web formed from at least two polymeric film tubes in intimate contact with each other but not bonded to each other. The apparatus includes the use of a blown film extrusion die that extrudes two separate blown film polymeric tubes via two separate annular die lips. A fluid cooling system applies cooling fluid across a plurality of surfaces of the two blown film tubes. One of the die lips may be at a different height from the other die lip. The frost line of one blown film tube may be at a different height from the other blown film tube.
APPARATUS FOR FORMING AN ENCAPSULATED STRIP
One or more embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus for forming a continuous strip of a first compound that is encapsulated by a second compound. The apparatus allows the mixture ratio of the first compound to the second compound to vary. The first compound may be a sealant, and the second compound may be a rubber.
