POLYMER FILM FOR IN-MOULD LABELLING
The invention relates to a multi-layered, opaque, biaxially-oriented polyolefin film with a thickness of less than 150 mum and which comprises f. a base layer that contains vacuoles and at least one polymer of at least one olefin, g. an inner intermediate layer that contains at least one polymer of at least one olefin, h. an outer intermediate layer that contains at least one polymer of at least one olefin, i. an inner cover layer which is in contact with the inner intermediate layer and contains 5-70 wt. % of at least one polyethylene and 30-95 wt. % of at least one propylene polymer, and j. an outer cover layer which is in contact with the outer intermediate layer and contains 5-70 wt. % of at least one polyethylene and 30-95% of at least one propylene polymer, each amount indication relating to the weight of the layer in question, and characterised in that said outer intermediate layer has a thickness of 0.5 to 5 mum and contains 4.5 to 30 wt. % of pigments, preferably Tau[Iota]Omicron2, in that the outer cover layer has a thickness of >0 to <2 mum, and in that the film has a gloss on either side of less than 50 gloss units measured according to DIN EN ISO 2813 at an angle of 60 DEG and at a temperature of 25 DEG C.
PREFORMS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PREFORMS
The invention relates to a preform for producing a plastic container in a 2-stage stretch blow molding method, said preform having a preform body that extends along a central axis and that comprises: a first end a second end that lies opposite the first end, wherein the first end is closed and a neck part with a pouring opening adjoins the second end; and an inner wall that delimits an interior of the preform. Along a length of at least 30 mm of the interior, every point of the inner wall is at a distance of less than 3.5 mm from the central axis. Also disclosed are a suitable method and a device for producing such a preform.
STRETCH BLOW MOLDING PROCESS
A stretch blow molding process for producing a plastic container from a preform, having an elongated, tubular preform body, extending along a center axis. The first end of the preform body is closed by a preform bottom and the second end is adjoined by a neck part with a pouring opening. A wall, bounds an interior space of the preform. The preform body is heated and introduced into a cavity of a blow mold. A stretching mandrel enters the preform until the stretching mandrel tip reaches the preform bottom. The preform body and the preform bottom are stretched by the stretching mandrel. The preform body and the preform bottom are deformed by introducing a fluid into the preform under pressure. The stretching mandrel makes contact with the inner side of the wall in the region of the preform body.

Method for producing a plastic bottle, and preform and blowing mold suited therefore are disclosed. An exemplary process can produce a plastic bottle, for example, a PET bottle. Such a bottle can be produced from a preform which has a body which is closed on one side, which is connected to a neck section with a pour opening, in which the preform which has been produced in a plastic injection process or an extrusion process is placed in the mold cavity of a blow mold and inflated using the blow nozzle by overpressure according to the mold cavity. Sealing can take place between the blow nozzle and the preform within the preform.

A method for producing a container (2) from a blank (3) in a mold (1) provided with a wall (4) and a mold bottom (8) that is movable relative to the wall (4) between a retracted position and a deployed position, the method including: a phase of introducing the blank (3) into the mold; a preblowing phase including the injection, into the blank (3), of a fluid pressurized to a so-called preblowing pressure, a blowing phase following the preblowing phase and including the injection, into the blank (3), of a fluid pressurized to a so-called blowing pressure greater than the preblowing pressure; a boxing phase including the displacement of the mold bottom (8) from the retracted position thereof to the deployed position thereof, initiated after the pressure in the blank (3) has reached the blowing pressure.
Balloon catheter shaft having high strength and flexibility
Method of making a balloon catheter includes melt-extruding a thermoplastic polymeric material into a tube, cooling the extruded tube, placing the extruded tube within a capture member and biaxially orienting the polymeric material of the extruded tube while simultaneously tapering at least a section of the extruded tube by radially expanding the extruded tube with pressurized media in the tube lumen and axially expanding the extruded tube with an external load applied on at least one end of the tube as an external heat supply traverses longitudinally from a first end to a second end of the extruded tube in the capture member, wherein an overall axial load on the tubing is varied as at least a section of the tube is heated. The method includes cooling the expanded tube to form a tapered biaxially oriented nonporous thermoplastic polymer tubular member and sealingly securing a balloon proximate a distal end of the tubular member.
Method for the production of pouches, and blow-molded pouch
The pouch has a sealable mouth section, a side wall, and a sealed base. The material in the region of the side wall is oriented biaxially via blow molding of an injection-molded preform, and has an average wall thickness of at most 0.2 mm. The shape of the sealed base is intended to permit the article to stand upright without support.
