A double-layer longitudinal wrapping mold is disclosed, including a base, a first longitudinal wrapping structure, a first pressing structure, a second longitudinal wrapping structure, a second pressing structure and a first necking structure. The first longitudinal wrapping structure is disposed on the base and has a first guide hole, a first outer layer wrapping hole and an inner layer wrapping hole. The first pressing structure is disposed on the base and has a first pressing hole and a second outer layer wrapping tape hole. The second longitudinal wrapping structure is disposed on the base and has a second guide hole and a third outer layer wrapping tape hole. The second pressing structure is disposed on the base and has a second pressing hole and a fourth outer layer wrapping tape hole. The first necking structure is disposed on the base and has a necking hole.

TUBE/MANDREL ASSEMBLIES

The disclosure relates to assemblies of thin-walled tubes and mandrels for use in thin wall catheter liners. For example, an assembly is provided that includes a thin-walled PTFE tube comprising walls with a thickness of less than 0.004 inches, positioned over a filled mandrel comprising PTFE with one or more fillers incorporated therein. The disclosure further provides, independently, thin-walled tubes and filled mandrels, as well as methods of making and using such components.

Forming polymer optical devices by mold-constrained relaxation expansion

A method of making a waveguiding optical component includes processing a polymer optical material to form a billet having an axis of light transmission and having residual stress maintaining a transverse extent of the billet; placing the billet into a mold, the mold being configured to constrain transverse expansion of the billet according to a desired shape of the waveguiding optical component; and heating the billet in the mold to induce relaxation of the residual stress and corresponding transverse expansion of the billet, thereby forming the billet into the waveguiding optical component with the desired shape. An alternative method begins with a collection of individual canes or fiber segments which are fused during the heating process, bypassing a separate process of forming a billet.

Thermoplastic composite pipe with multilayer intermediate lamina

A process for producing a thermoplastic composite pipe, where the process includes: a) providing a tubular liner having a wall containing a thermoplastic polymer A in the region of the outer surface; b) providing a tape containing reinforcing fibres in a matrix containing a thermoplastic polymer B, where polymer A and polymer B are different; c) applying a film or a composite which is produced in d) and is composed of a film and a tape provided in step b) to the tubular liner, with melting of the outer surface of the liner and of the contact surface of the film either beforehand, simultaneously or thereafter, d) applying the tape provided in b) to the outer surface of the film, with melting of the outer surface of the film applied and of the contact surface of the tape either beforehand, simultaneously or thereafter,
where the surface of the film which is brought into contact with the liner contains a moulding compound containing polymer A to an extent of at least 30% by weight, and the opposite surface of the film contains a moulding compound containing polymer B to an extent of at least 30% by weight.

Manufacturing method for tank

A manufacturing method for a high-pressure tank is a manufacturing method for a high-pressure tank including a reinforced layer formed such that an electrically conductive fiber bundle impregnated with thermosetting resin is wound around a liner. The manufacturing method includes: a step of preparing the tank in which the uncured reinforced layer is formed on the liner; a first heating step of heating the uncured reinforced layer by low-frequency induction heating so the thermosetting resin is softened; and a second heating step of, after the first heating step, heating the softened reinforced layer by high-frequency induction heating so that the softened reinforced layer is hardened.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPRESSED-GAS CONTAINER

The invention relates to a method for producing a compressed-gas container, particularly a compressed-gas container for transporting and for storing liquid gases or natural gas.

Fluid leak repair
