The horn has a first part-interfacing surface and a second part-interfacing surface opposite the first part-interfacing surface. An actuator assembly is operatively coupled to the ultrasonic transducer assembly and configured to cause rotation of the horn. A controller is configured to: cause the actuator assembly to rotate the horn so that the first part-interfacing surface applies the ultrasonic energy to a first part along an entire length of the first part-interface surface while a first ultrasonic energy is applied through the horn via the first transducer to cause the first part-interfacing surface to vibrate back and forth along its entire length as the first ultrasonic energy is applied by the first transducer to the horn.

The energy apparatus can also include a second energy mechanism configured to rotate around a circumference of the rotatable drum. The energy apparatus can additionally include a translation system coupled to the second energy mechanism and configured to move the second energy mechanism to an end position that allows the second energy mechanism and the first energy mechanism to provide energy to the item while there is no relative motion between the first energy mechanism and the second energy mechanism. Methods of providing energy to an item utilizing an energy apparatus are also disclosed.
System and method for subjecting web to ultrasonic processing
An ultrasonic processing system adapted to subject a web running in a machine direction to ultrasonic processing includes a first mechanical element defined by one of an ultrasonic horn and an anvil and a second mechanical element defined by a remainder. The web placed on an outer peripheral surface of a rotary drum moves conforming to the drum in a machine direction. The first mechanical element is provided on the inner side of the drum and the second mechanical element is provided on the outer side of the drum. The first and second mechanical elements repeat a step of forward movement and a step of backward movement in a direction intersecting the machine direction across the web. In both steps, the first and second mechanical elements come in close contact with each other by the intermediary of the web and thereby subject the web to the ultrasonic processing.
SURFACE-STRUCTURED PROCESSING ELEMENT FOR ULTRASONIC PROCESSING
The present invention concerns a processing element for processing a material, like for example a sonotrode or an anvil, comprising a carrier surface which is substantially in the form of a cylinder or in the form of a segment of a cylinder and which is intended to come into contact with the material during processing, wherein the processing element is intended to be rotated about its longitudinal axis during processing so that the carrier surface rolls on the material to be processed, wherein arranged on the carrier surface is at least one structure element which projects beyond the carrier surface in the radial direction, wherein the structure element has a top side which is provided to come into contact with the material to be processed. To provide a processing element which reduces the abrupt deflection of the sonotrode when the material comes into engagement with and/or comes out of engagement with the carrier surface it is proposed according to the invention that the top side is at least portion-wise convexly curved in the peripheral direction with a radius of curvature which is less than the greatest spacing of the top side from the cylinder axis or comprises at least two surface portions which include an angle <180°.
Horizontal Packaging Machine
Disclosed herein is a packaging machine that according to one embodiment includes a rollers block with a plurality of roller assemblies distributed in series along a horizontal longitudinal axis of the machine and a transmission block with a motor and a transmission mechanism configured for transmitting the rotation of the motor to all the roller assemblies. At least one roller assembly is independent of the rest of the roller assemblies, is movable with respect to the transmission block, and is configured for cooperating with the transmission mechanism in an operative position, in which the transmission mechanism transmits the rotation of the motor of the transmission block to the roller assembly.

CONTOUR ENFORCEMENT FOR LINE ASSEMBLED FUSELAGE SEGMENTS
Systems and methods are provided for assembling a section of a fuselage of an aircraft. The method includes pulsing a half barrel section of the fuselage along a track in a process direction, utilizing an indexing feature associated with the half barrel section to determine a desired contour for a portion of the half barrel section, and enforcing the desired contour onto the half barrel section using components that enforce an inner mold line and components that enforce an outer mold line when the half barrel section is out of tolerance from the desired contour.
Method of manufacturing a foil tape and foil tape
The invention relates to a foil tape (10) for sealing joints between structural elements (30, 31) which are joined to one another, for example in house-building between masonry and a door or window jamb, wherein the foil tape (10) has a functional membrane (1), a textile (4) joined, preferably all-over, to the functional membrane (1) on a top side or an underside, and at least in certain areas an adhesive layer (2) applied in certain areas to that side of the membrane (1) which is averted from the textile (4), wherein the foil tape (10) is folded to produce a folded body (20), so that sections of the textile (4) lie on top of one another at least in certain areas, the sections of the textile (4) lying on top of one another being welded to one another partially and in particular in a punctiform pattern by supplying energy to the folded body (20).
