INDUCTION HEATING DEVICE
A magnetic insert for enhancing the magnetic field of an induction heating device is provided. The magnetic insert is manufactured by use of a composition comprising a mouldable polymer matrix and a soft magnetic material.
Conformable induction coils for induction joining
A method and apparatus for joining parts. A plurality of conformable induction coils embedded in a number of elastomeric sheets is positioned relative to a first composite part of the parts and a second composite part of the parts. A magnetic field is generated with the plurality of conformable induction coils. The magnetic field is configured to generate heat in a magnetically permeable material at a joint location. The heat joins the first composite part and the second composite part to each other.
Device and Method for Inductively Heating Package Sleeves
A device and method for inductively heating package sleeves including: at least one unit for producing an alternating current, at least one inductor having at least one effective section, and a holding unit having a front holding area and a rear holding area for mounting the inductor, wherein the inductor is connected to the unit for producing an alternating current, and wherein the holding areas arranged in such a way that a gap is formed between the front holding area and the rear holding area, the longitudinal direction of which gap corresponds to the conveying direction of the package sleeves. The effective sections of the at least one inductor may be at least in sections arranged asymmetrically to one another in relation to a center plane lying in the gap.
Thermoplastic welding apparatus and method
A thermoplastic welding apparatus includes a thermoplastic welding tool, at least one tooling surface in the thermoplastic welding tool, a magnetic induction coil in the thermoplastic welding tool and generally encircling the at least one tooling surface and at least one smart susceptor in the thermoplastic welding tool at the at least one tooling surface. The magnetic induction coil is adapted to generate a magnetic flux field oriented generally parallel to a plane of the at least one smart susceptor.
Heat shield with coil recess for induction welding
An assembly is provided for induction welding. This assembly utilizes a heat shield (e.g., a mica heat shield) with a recess. An induction welding coil may be disposed within this heat shield recess during induction welding operations. The wall thickness of the heat shield within the recess may be reduced to enhance heat transfer to a workpiece during induction welding operations. Members may engage the heat shield on opposite sides of the recess (and that have an increased wall thickness) to support both the heat shield and the workpiece during induction welding operations, during which a biasing force may be exerted on both the heat shield and workpiece.
U-shaped induction welding coil and method of use thereof
An induction welding coil includes a spine having a planar body with opposing ends, and a pair of prongs extending perpendicularly from the opposing ends of the spine. Each of the prongs has a planar body, wherein the spine and the pair of prongs are formed from a ferrite material to define a ferrite core. The induction welding coil further includes a coil wire having a plurality of winding that surround the planar body of the spine.
METHOD FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC WELDING OF MOLDED PARTS AND A HEAT SINK FOR USE IN SUCH METHOD
A heat sink for use in electromagnetic welding of molded parts includes reinforcing fibers embedded in a matrix material, where substantially all of the reinforcing fibers are oriented unidirectionally in a fiber direction, where the reinforcing fibers have a thermal conductivity at room temperature from 100-1000 W/m. K and an electrical resistivity at room temperature from 0.5-10.m, and where the matrix material comprises a high temperature resistant material, optionally a thermosetting resin, having a glass transition temperature Tg above 350 C. The heat sink is used in a method of connecting surfaces of a first molded part and a second molded part by electromagnetic welding. Cooling of the outer surface of the first molded part is provided by the heat sink in direct contact with the outer surface.
Thermoplastic induction-welding systems
A flexible ferromagnetic strip is used to induction-weld seams in polymer pipes. The strip is a blend of strontium ferrite, a surfactant, and an LDPE binder. A process to produce the profile is to mix the ingredients together followed by granulation and extrusion or calendering. The strip is used in conjunction with an induction coil sized to fit over a polymer pipe coupling containing the strip and separate segments of polymer pipe. The strip is heated by induction current induced by an electromagnetic field generated by the coil. The heated strip causes the polymer pipe segments to be thermoplastically welded together.
INDUCTION SEALING DEVICE AND METHOD OF SEALING A PACKAGING MATERIAL USING SAID INDUCTION SEALING DEVICE
The present invention relates to an induction sealing device for heat sealing of packaging material. The sealing device comprises a conductor partly encapsulated in a supporting body for cooperation with the packaging material during sealing. The coil conductor has a reduced cross sectional area at at least one position along the coil conductor so as to concentrate the magnetic flux induced by the coil conductor at the at least one position. The invention also relates to a method of heat sealing a packaging material using the induction sealing device.
