Functional element for attachment to a plastic component and a component assembly

A functional element of metal having a flange of larger diameter from an attachment surface and a centering section arranged inside the attachment surface and extending away from the flange, characterized in that an adhesive is arranged around the cylindrical section and adjacent to the attachment surface.

PEEL PLY, METHOD OF SURFACE PREPARATION AND BONDING COMPOSITE STRUCTURES USING THE SAME

A resin-rich peel ply that does not leave behind residual fibers after peeling and can work well with different resin-based composite substrates. The resin-rich peel ply is composed of a woven fabric impregnated with a resin matrix different from the resin matrix of the composite substrate. The peel ply is designed such that, upon manual removal of the peel ply from the composite substrate's surface, a thin film of the peel ply resin remains on the composite substrate's surface to create a bondable surface capable of bonding with another composite substrate, but no fibrous material from the woven fabric remains on the same surface.

Thermoplastic induction-welding systems

A flexible ferromagnetic strip is used to induction-weld seams in polymer pipes. The strip is a blend of strontium ferrite, a surfactant, and an LDPE binder. A process to produce the profile is to mix the ingredients together followed by granulation and extrusion or calendering. The strip is used in conjunction with an induction coil sized to fit over a polymer pipe coupling containing the strip and separate segments of polymer pipe. The strip is heated by induction current induced by an electromagnetic field generated by the coil. The heated strip causes the polymer pipe segments to be thermoplastically welded together.

Process for securing discrete stiffeners to a panel

A method for providing localized stiffening of a vehicle trim panel using a plurality of discrete stiffening elements. The method includes selectively placing one or more of the discrete stiffening elements on the panel and then bonding the stiffening elements to the panel.

A liquid crystal display device is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel; a backlight unit; a cover glass; a frame; and a filling member. The backlight unit is in contact with a bottom surface of the liquid crystal display panel. The cover glass is bonded to a top surface of the liquid crystal display panel. The frame is bonded to the cover glass. The filling member is configured to bond a lateral surface of the frame, a lateral surface of the liquid crystal display panel and a lateral surface of the backlight unit and reduce a leaked light emitted from the backlight unit.

THREE-PHASE COMPOSITE, AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF

A three-phase composite, and a preparation method and use thereof are provided. The three-phase composite includes a hollow glass microsphere composite foam and a plurality of carbon fiber tubes filled in the hollow glass microsphere composite foam; where the carbon fiber tubes are arranged in a two-dimensional closest packing manner, two adjacent carbon fiber tubes have a center-to-center spacing of 29.9 mm to 34 mm, and each of the carbon fiber tubes has a wall thickness of 0.45 mm to 1 mm; and two ends of each of the carbon fiber tubes each are sealed by an end cap.
