Release liner for pressure sensitive adhesives and method of use
A double-sided adhesive tape assembly that includes a double-sided tape having a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) on each side thereof and a delaminatable release liner in contact with the pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) on one or both sides of the double-sided tape is disclosed. A roll of the double-sided adhesive tape assembly is also disclosed. Methods of making and using the double-sided adhesive tape assembly are also disclosed.
AN APPLYING UNIT FOR APPLYING A LID ONTO A CONTAINER
An applying unit for applying lids (1) to necks (9) of containers (10) comprises: a conveying device for advancing the containers (10) along a path in an advancement direction (F); a group of applying heads (23), each applying head (23) being arranged to screw a lid (1) onto a corresponding neck (9); a movement device (26) for moving the group of applying heads (23) along the advancement direction (F), so that each applying head (23) is coupled to a corresponding neck (9) along a portion of said path. The movement device (26) is configured to act on a common support element (24) supporting the applying heads (23) of said group, so as to move synchronously the applying heads (23) along the advancement direction (F).
Composite Structures Having Bondlines with Matched Electrical Conductivity
Two composite laminates are joined together by a bondline having portions exposed to the ambient environment. The bondline contains scrim having an electrical conductivity and impedance matched to that of the laminates in order to mitigate effects of lightning strikes.
THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE PIPE WITH MULTILAYER INTERMEDIATE LAMINA
A process for producing a thermoplastic composite pipe, where the process includes: a) providing a tubular liner having a wall containing a thermoplastic polymer A in the region of the outer surface; b) providing a tape containing reinforcing fibres in a matrix containing a thermoplastic polymer B, where polymer A and polymer B are different; c) applying a film or a composite which is produced in d) and is composed of a film and a tape provided in step b) to the tubular liner, with melting of the outer surface of the liner and of the contact surface of the film either beforehand, simultaneously or thereafter, d) applying the tape provided in b) to the outer surface of the film, with melting of the outer surface of the film applied and of the contact surface of the tape either beforehand, simultaneously or thereafter,
where the surface of the film which is brought into contact with the liner contains a moulding compound containing polymer A to an extent of at least 30% by weight, and the opposite surface of the film contains a moulding compound containing polymer B to an extent of at least 30% by weight.
THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE PIPE WITH MULTILAYER INTERMEDIATE LAMINA
A process for producing a thermoplastic composite pipe is provided. The thermoplastic composite pipe thus produced contains a liner, two or more composite layers composed of tape laminas, and a single- or multilayer intermediate lamina arranged between different composite layers. Composite formation between identical polymers in the process achieves improved adhesion. The thermoplastic composite pipe is especially suitable for offshore applications in oil or gas production.
Weldable thermoplastic composite composites
The invention relates to the use of a low Tg compatible resin as an adhesive layer for the welding of a thermoplastic composite structure to a thermoplastic or thermoset structure. The invention is especially good for the welding of large parts, such as wind turbine halves and spar caps. A useful thermoplastic composite is one formed by the infusion and curing of long fibers by a reactive acrylic liquid resin system, such as ELIUM resin systems from Arkema.
Quick-release adhesive tapes
Methods and compositions for securing to and removing adhesive tapes from substrates, e.g., delicate substrates such as skin, are described. The methods include providing an adhesive tape comprising an adhesive layer and a support layer in contact with the adhesive layer. A first adhesion level between the adhesive layer and the support layer is, or can be controlled to be, less than a second adhesion level between the adhesive layer and the substrate. The methods further include applying the adhesive tape to the substrate by contacting the adhesive layer to the substrate while the support layer remains in contact with the adhesive layer; and removing the support layer from the substrate by separating the support layer from the adhesive layer.
Induction welding system
A method and apparatus for performing induction welding. A number of protective layers are positioned between a susceptor layer and at least one of a plurality of workpieces at a weld location. An undesired current path is prevented from forming at the weld location during induction heating of the plurality of workpieces by the number of protective layers.
SEAM CONSTRUCTION USING RADIO FREQUENCY WELDING AND TAPE
A process of constructing an air tight and water tight seam, comprising cutting a sheet of selected material into two or more panels, sealing the panels at respective selected edges using an ultrasonic machine to form a scam, overlaying the seam with a tape made of the same selected material, and scaling the tape and seam using a radio frequency (RF) welding machine.
Seam tape, accessory material, and component material with hot melt adhesive for inflatable safety products
A seam tape, accessory material, and/or component material may be used for an inflatable safety product. The seam tape, accessory material, or component material includes a hot melt adhesive, and the hot melt adhesive adheres the seam tape, accessory material, and/or component material to a fabric or flexible material of the inflatable safety product.
