METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLASTICS CONTAINERS
The invention relates to a method for producing plastics containers from thermoplastics with inserts which, by exploiting the heat of plasticization, are connected during shaping of the plastics container by a material bond and/or interlocking connection to the container wall, wherein the method provides the use of at least one opening on the insert, which opening forms a melt duct or melt inlet and/or melt passage for plasticized or plastic material of the container wall, wherein the method is distinguished in that the opening is monitored as a reference opening by optical and/or sensory means during the production of the connection, wherein the degree of penetration of the opening with thermoplastic from the container wall is used as a measure of the quality of the connection.
METHOD OF JOINING TWO OBJECTS
A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on one of the objects in an opening provided on the other one of the objects. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. Before such liquefaction and interpenetration, an interference fit is established in which such opposite surfaces are pressed against each other, and, for the anchoring, mechanical vibration energy and possibly a shearing force are applied, wherein the shearing force puts a shear stress on the interference fit.
METHOD OF ANCHORING A FIRST OBJECT IN A SECOND OBJECT
A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on a first object in an opening provided on a second object. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. During the step of inserting the insert portion in the opening and/or during anchorage a clamping force is applied to opposing surfaces of the second object to prevent the second object from cracking or bulging.
JOINING METHOD
A joining method for joining a first member having a hole that is opened on at least one surface, to a second member including a material of which a melting temperature is lower than that of a constituent material of the first member, includes: laminating the second member on the first member so as to cover an opening of the hole; and introducing that material of the second member which is softened or melted into the hole through the opening and curing the material of the second member.
Device for fusing the ends of thermoplastic filaments
A method of fusing without contact the ends of thermoplastic filaments grouped together to form at least two tufts. The method steps include providing at least two tufts of thermoplastic filaments arranged at a distance to each other, providing a heating plate at least partly made from a conductive material and structured to have at least two heating sectors separated from one another by at least one separation sector arranged for emitting at least less thermal radiation then the heating sectors, each of the heating sectors having conductive material and a heating surface corresponding in shape and position to the shape and position of the ends of the tufts, exposing the ends of the tufts to the heating plate such that the tuft ends and the heating sectors are aligned with each other, and generating an electric-current flow through the heating sectors so that the heating surfaces of the heating sectors emit thermal radiation that is absorbed by the ends of the filaments, whereby the ends of the filaments melt and the filaments of each tuft are fused together.
Mechanically interlocked nonwoven industrial fabric
A nonwoven industrial fabric comprising a first layer secured to a second layer, with each layer comprising a plurality of flow-through apertures and profiling protrusions, wherein: a) at least a portion of the flow-through apertures of the first layer is aligned with at least a portion of the flow-through apertures of the second layer; b) the first layer comprises a plurality of securing protrusions integral to the first layer; c) the second layer comprises a plurality of detents integral to the second layer; and d) the first layer is secured to the second layer by a plurality of locking pairs, each locking pair comprising a securing protrusion lockably engaged with a detent. A method of making the nonwoven industrial fabric is also described.
DEVICE FOR SETTING A SETTING ELEMENT IN A COMPONENT
The invention relates to a device for setting a setting element having a first plastic material in a component having a second plastic material, comprising a rotational advancing unit, by means of which the setting element can be rotated about an axis of rotation and simultaneously an axial force acting in the direction of the axis of rotation can be applied to the setting element in order to drive the setting element into the component, a friction welding joint thereby being produced between the setting element and the component, a differential-distance measuring apparatus for measuring the differential distance between a surface of the component and a surface of the driven setting element, and a control unit for controlling the rotational advancing unit in dependence on the measured differential distance.

Method for securing a second object to a first object
A method of mechanically securing a first object to a second object, wherein the first object has a thermoplastic material in a solid state, the second object has a generally flat sheet portion having a second object edge. A third object is provided and arranged to provide an assembly including the first, second and third objects, in which assembly the second object edge is in contact with the thermoplastic material. Mechanical vibration energy is coupled into the assembly by means of a vibrating tool until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material due to friction heat generated between the second object edge and the thermoplastic material becomes flowable and flows around the second object edge to at least partially embed the second object edge in the thermoplastic material and the third object is caused to be embedded at least partially in the thermoplastic material of the first object.
