Resin structure
A resin structure includes a first structural portion and a second structural portion. The first structural portion includes a characteristic design surface and structures an end portion at a side of the resin structure at which the characteristic design surface is disposed. An orientation direction of fibers in a first pattern portion of the first structural portion differs from an orientation direction of fibers in a second pattern portion. The second structural portion includes a region disposed at the opposite side of the first structural portion to the side at which the characteristic design surface is disposed. Fibers contained in the second structural portion differ in fiber width from the fibers contained in the first structural portion. A portion of the fibers contained in a region of the second structural portion superposed with the first structural portion are configured to be visible through the resin of the first structural portion.
Two-faced fabric with partially oriented yarn
A two-faced, modified interlock knit fabric for use in the manufacture of toothed belts, the fabric constructed by plating a partially oriented first yarn of polyester or nylon with a second yarn of polyester or spun cotton and knit in a blister stitch in the machine direction is provided. A method of forming toothed belts incorporating such a fabric is also provided.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR KNITTING COMPOSITE PANEL STRUCTURES
A knitting mechanism for knitting a polymer reinforcing structure to a shape as predefine in the final product. Stiff materials in the form of knitting yarns are knitted on a V-bed weft knitting machine to create a polymer reinforcing panel structure and any additional knitted textile elements with completely finished the edges. The resulting three-dimensional textile element is a unitary construction completed entirely by the knitting machine in the knitting process, and is ready for a subsequent polymer resin application and/or a molding process.
ASYMMETRICAL STRETCH COMPOSITE FOR PIPE LINER
A fibrous material or composite including a plurality of layers joined to one another, for example, by needlepunching, is disclosed. The fibrous composite generally has an asymmetrical stretch profile, such that the fibrous composite is more extensible in the cross-machine direction than in the machine direction. The fibrous composite may find particular use in forming a cure-in-place pipe liner.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MATERIAL WEB, USE THEREOF AS A REINFORCING PLY FOR AN ELASTOMER ITEM, AND VEHICLE PNEUMATIC TIRES
The invention is directed to a vehicle pneumatic tire wherein strengthening plies are provided with steel cords running parallel to one another. The belt plies can be used, as isolated electrically conductive plates, for supplying electricity to electrical consumers such as sensors and actuators installed in the tire. Adjacent belt plies can be connected by puncture sensors to be able to identify damage to the belt caused by metallic parts penetrating from the outside, such as nails, on the basis of a change in the electrical resistance.
Laminated textile materials that reduce flame propagation, articles incorporating same, and methods of making same
A method of producing a flame resistant ticking includes laminating a flame resistant substrate to a decorative fabric, wherein the substrate is configured to release a chemical vapor that reduces the rate of propagation of a flame along the decorative fabric when the decorative fabric is exposed to flame. The substrate is laminated in direct contact with the inside surface of the decorative fabric. In some embodiments, the laminated ticking is configured to release less than 15 MJ of heat in the first ten minutes when exposed to a flame in accordance with the testing protocol set forth in 16 CFR 1633. Upholstered articles, such as mattresses, mattress foundations, and articles of furniture, may incorporate the flame resistant ticking layer.
KNITTED THREE-DIMENSIONAL ELECTROCONDUCTIVE MAT FOR USE AS A LIGHTNING-RESISTANT WALL
A three-dimensional electroconductive mat formed of an electroconductive knitted fabric capable of homogeneously distributing electrical charges over the entire surface thereof, wherein the knitted fabric includes at least one electroconductive metal filament yarn; a composite material including such a mat, and 40 to 95% by volume of a thermoplastic and/or thermosetting polymer material.
Power transmission belt
A frictional transmission belt according to the present disclosure has a belt body wound around a pulley to transmit power. The belt includes a water absorptive fabric covering at least one side of the belt body that contacts with the pulley.
