11753536 · 2023-09-12 ·

The invention relates to a polymer blend comprising 15 to 70 Wt. % of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) and/or of a PVOH copolymer as well as 30 to 85 Wt. % of a further polymer, to a method for preparing a polymer blend, to the use of a polymer blend for producing a packaging material and to a packaging material. The packaging material obtained from the polymer blend is characterized in particular by a low gas permeability and can be produced by means of cost-effective methods.

A can to contain a liquid and/or a gas is closed with a bottom element and a cover element. The innermost layer is a straight-wound barrier layer having a folded seam extending in a longitudinal direction. The barrier layer includes an inner diffusion-tight layer and an outer kraft paper layer. At least two further straight-wound layers made of paper or cardboard are around the barrier layer of the can shell. Adjoining cardboard or paper surfaces of the barrier layer and a next wound layer are adhered directly to each other. Each of the two further wound layers is longitudinally wound and include in the longitudinal direction an overlapping region with itself. The overlapping region of the next wound layer adjoining the barrier layer is offset relative to the folded seam of the barrier layer and the overlapping regions of the two further wound layers are located at different peripheral regions.

ETHYLENE INTERPOLYMER PRODUCT AND FILMS THEREOF

An ethylene interpolymer product comprises from 40 to 80 weight % of a first ethylene interpolymer having a molecular weight distribution index of Formula (I), and, from 20 to 60 weight % of a second ethylene interpolymer having a molecular weight distribution index of Formula (II), wherein said ethylene interpolymer product is characterized by a dilution Index, Y.sub.d, greater than 0, and, a solid-to-liquid transition temperature not greater than 112° C. The ethylene interpolymer product may be further characterized as having a weighted Rheological Adhesion Parameter, Rh.sub.adh, greater than 1.5. Films made from the ethylene interpolymer product composition have a hot tack seal onset temperature less than 90° C. and a hot tack window at 2.5N measured on a 2 mil blown film no less than 30° C.

Food storage containers formed at least partially from post-consumer recycled polymeric material

A container thermoformed from a polymeric multilayer sheet includes a cavity for containing food. The sheet includes a polymeric interior layer positioned between (i) a polymeric outer layer of the sheet and (ii) a polymeric inner layer of the sheet that is in opposing face-to-face relation with, and at least partially defines, the cavity of the container. The interior layer includes post-consumer recycled polymeric material. The sheet includes a polymeric barrier layer positioned between the interior layer and inner layer. The barrier layer restricts inward passage of at least some of any gasses originating from the post-consumer recycled polymeric material.

Heat insulation sheet and sheet material using heat insulation sheet

The heat insulation sheet is provided with a fixing layer that is arranged between a base material and a carbon sheet. The fixing layer is made of a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The base material has flexibility. The carbon sheet is made by rolling expanded graphite and has a thickness from twenty-five micrometers to one hundred micrometers. In the sheet material, activated carbon is arranged opposite to the fixing layer side of the heat insulation sheet, and a surface material is arranged on a surface of the activated carbon. The fixing layer can be constituted in such a manner that a hot-melt adhesive is arranged in a reticulate manner.

Odor barrier film

A multilayer film for ostomy and bowel management applications includes a barrier layer comprising at least about 90% wt. nylon 6/69. The multilayer film provides excellent mechanical and odor barrier properties, and softness and quietness desired in ostomy and bowel management applications.

A low odor packaging film is disclosed. The low odor packaging film comprises an oriented film. The oriented film includes a first odor barrier layer, a second barrier layer and an inner layer that comprises a multicomponent recyclate. The inner layer is present between the first odor barrier layer and the second odor barrier layer. The first and second odor barrier layers reduces the transmission of the odor or the odor causing components present in the multicomponent recyclate of the inner layer with a product or item packed with the low odor packaging film. The oriented film has a low haze value as compared to a non-oriented of the same composition and structure.
