Method and apparatus for applying a material onto articles using a transfer component that deflects on both sides
Apparatuses and methods for applying a transfer material onto the surface of an article are disclosed, including apparatuses and methods of transfer printing on and/or decorating three-dimensional articles, as well as the articles printed and/or decorated thereby. In some cases, the apparatuses and methods involve providing a deposition device, such as a printing device; providing a transfer component; depositing a material onto a portion of the transfer component with the deposition device; modifying the portion of the transfer component with the transfer material thereon to conform the transfer component to at least a portion of the surface of the three-dimensional article; and transferring the transfer material onto the surface of the article.
Decorative decal assembly for a weight plate
The decorative decal assembly (20) is configured to be secured within a recessed surface (26) of a weight plate (18) and includes an adhesive layer (36), a printable surface (44) of an adjacent ink protective printing layer (42), and one or more print decals (48) secured to the printable surface (44) and between an upper support surface (40) of the adhesive layer (36) and the ink protective layer (42). The recessed surface (26) defines a display area (56) surrounded on all sides by an expansion zone (58) extending between the display area (56) and the shoulders (30, 32) of the weight plate (18) that define the recessed surface (26) to permit limited expansion of perimeter edges (62A, 62B) of the decal assembly (20) into the expansion zone (58) without contacting the shoulders (30, 32) whenever the weight plate (18) experiences a bounce shock.
Manufacturing method for decorated object
A manufacturing method for a decorated object is provided. In this manufacturing method, a foil is attached to a medium to obtain the decorated object. The manufacturing method includes: a foil layer forming step of attaching the foil to an adhesive layer formed on the medium, so as to form a foil layer in a manner that the adhesive layer is partly exposed; and an ink layer forming step of applying an ink to the foil layer on which the adhesive layer is partly exposed, so as to form an ink layer in a manner that the ink contacts an exposed part of the adhesive layer.
Method and application device for applying a transfer layer of a film to a substrate
A method for applying a transfer ply of a foil to a substrate, with the steps of: a) regionally applying a radically curable adhesive to the transfer ply and/or the substrate by means of an inkjet printhead; b) precuring the adhesive by UV irradiation; c) applying the transfer ply to the substrate by means of a stamping apparatus; d) fully curing the adhesive by UV irradiation; e) peeling a carrier ply of the foil, to leave at least one first subregion of the transfer ply on an application region of the substrate, and at least one second subregion of the transfer ply on the carrier ply; f) winding up or recoiling the carrier ply with the remaining second subregion of the transfer ply; g) applying at least one further subregion of the transfer ply remaining on the carrier ply to the substrate by at least once repeating steps a) to f).
METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SYNTHETIC LEATHER
The present invention relates to a method for the production of synthetic leather, to synthetic leather produced by such a method as well as to the use thereof. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for the production of synthetic leather exhibiting a virtual three-dimensional pattern on its visible face, whereby the leather comprises platelet-shaped effect pigments.
Method for producing light-accumulating transfer sheet, light-accumulating transfer sheet and transfer method for light-accumulating transfer sheet
A method for producing a light-accumulating transfer sheet, which comprises: an adhesive layer forming step for forming an adhesive layer on a supporting layer; a resin layer forming step for forming a resin layer on the adhesive layer; a heat generation layer forming step for forming a heat generation layer, which comprises a dye layer containing a near-infrared absorbing dye on the resin layer; and a pigment dispersion layer forming step for forming a pigment dispersion layer, which contains a light-accumulating pigment on the heat generation layer.
COMPOUNDS FOR THE TREATMENT OF MALARIA
The present invention provides methods of treating malaria by administration of a compound of Formula (I):
##STR00001##
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of said compound, to a subject in need thereof, wherein the variables X, R.sup.1, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, A, B, L, m and n are as defined herein. The invention also provides uses of the compounds of Formula (I), as defined herein, for inhibiting plasmepsin V activity, for treating a Plasmodium infection, and for treating malaria. Also provided are methods of treatment further comprising administration of one or more additional anti-malarial compounds.
INKJETTABLE ADHESIVE
The present invention provides an inkjet adhesive comprising: one or more monofunctional monomers, each having a log D.sub.octano/water of 1.1 or higher; and one or more photoinitiators, wherein the inkjet adhesive is free from monomers having a log D.sub.octano/water of lower than 1.1. The inkjet adhesive is particularly formulated for use in a method of cold foil printing. The inkjet adhesive contains only low polarity monomers to provide the inkjet adhesive with the ideal balance of through and surface curing properties required for cold foil printing. The monofunctional monomers also provide the inkjet adhesive with good adhesion properties.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE DECORATION OF OBJECTS
A device and a method for the decoration of objects to be decorated, wherein the object is held by a holding device. In a first step decorative material is applied to a transfer medium by a printing device. In a second step adhesive is applied to the transfer medium provided with the decorative material or to the object, and in a third step the transfer medium is pressed onto the object by a pressing device and at the same time the adhesive is cured by a curing device.
Variable tension and/or transport speed retransfer printing process
Retransfer printing methods and systems are described where a variable stripping process is utilized while stripping all or a portion of the retransfer film (also known as intermediate transfer media) from the surface of a substrate. The variable stripping process includes stripping the retransfer film from different sections of the substrate surface while applying different tensions to the retransfer film and/or at different transport speeds of the retransfer film and the substrate.
