REINFORCING PLY FOR ARTICLES MADE OF AN ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL, PREFERABLY FOR PNEUMATIC VEHICLE TYRES, AND PNEUMATIC VEHICLE TYRES

The invention relates to a rubberized reinforcing ply for articles made of elastomeric material, preferably for pneumatic vehicle tires, where the reinforcing ply has a multitude of strength members which are arranged in parallel and spaced apart, where each strength member consists of at least one twisted multifilament yarn composed of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), where the multifilament yarn has a yarn count (linear density) of 50 to 1100 dtex and a linear density-based ultimate tensile strength of 70 cN/tex in accordance with ASTM D885-16, and where the rubberized material has a thickness D. The invention further relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire comprising this reinforcing ply.

The multifilament yarn has an elongation at break of 10% to 20% in accordance with ASTM D885-16, a crystallinity determined via DSC of 55% to 65% and a birefringence n with 0.21n0.25.

Aircraft tire

A pneumatic tire is disclosed having two annular bead portions having a bead core. A carcass extends between the bead portions through sidewall portions and a tread portion, wherein the carcass includes at least two axially inner plies which extend down from the tread and axially inward of the bead core, said at least two axially inner plies being wound around the bead core forming respective turn-ups, each turnup being located axially outward of the bead core. The carcass further includes a first axially outer ply which extends down from the tread towards the bead core and positioned axially outward of the bead core, wherein at least one of the axially outer plies is formed from reinforcements having a higher break strength than the reinforcements of the axially inner plies.

The carcass layer has a first ply that continuously extends between the bead portions and that has opposite end portions and a second ply that extends from a position in contact with an inner peripheral face of an end portion, wherein the second ply has higher tensile strength than the tensile strength of the first ply.

The carcass layer has a first ply that continuously extends between the bead portions and that has opposite end portions respectively and a second ply that continuously extends on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the first ply, wherein the first ply has higher tensile strength than that of the second ply, and the end portion is positioned on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the end.

Pneumatic tire

In a pneumatic tire including a carcass layer mounted between a pair of bead portions and a belt reinforcing layer disposed on an outer circumferential side of the carcass layer, the carcass layer is formed of a carcass cord made of an organic fiber cord, an elongation at break of the carcass cord is set to 20% or more, an elongation under a load of 1.5 cN/dtex of the carcass cord in sidewall portions is set to from 5.0% to 8.0%, the belt reinforcing layer is formed of a cover cord made of an organic fiber cord, and a tensile strength of the cover cord per width of 50 mm at a 3.0% elongation is set to from 2.8 kN to 4.0 kN.

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE TYRE

A commercial vehicle tire of a radial type of construction with a cross-sectional height of 135 mm to 200 mm, a load index of 121 to 154, a radial-ply casing with at least one casing ply composed of steel cords embedded in rubber and with bead regions with bead cores and bead fillers around which the casing ply runs so as to form turn-ups. The casing ply is reinforced with steel cords of the construction 1+6, wherein the core filament (1) has a diameter (d.sub.1) of 0.19 mm to 0.22 mm and the ply filaments (2) have coinciding diameters (d.sub.2) of 0.17 mm to 0.20 mm, wherein the diameter (d.sub.2) of the ply filaments (2) is less than the diameter (d.sub.1) of the core filament (1) by at least 0.01 mm and wherein, at the crown of the tire, the steel cords are arranged in the casing ply with 60 epdm to 75 epdm.
