Pneumatic tire
A pneumatic tire is provided with tread rubber that forms a contact patch; and a belt layer which is disposed toward the interior in a tire radial direction from the tread rubber. A shoulder lug portion is provided with a narrow groove that partitions the shoulder lug portion into a main body portion and into a sacrificial portion. A plurality of concavities are open toward both the contact patch at the main body portion and the groove side face, wherein innermost ends in the tire width direction of the respective concavities are disposed so as to be at the same location in the tire width direction as an outermost end in the tire width direction of the belt layer or are arranged toward the exterior in the tire width direction from the outermost end in the tire width direction of the belt layer.
Pneumatic radial tire
A tire has cap rubber that forms a contact patch. The cap rubber has a plurality of lugs. A shoulder lug, which among the plurality of lugs is that which is located outwardmost in a tire width direction, has a narrow groove that extends in the tire circumferential direction and that partitions the shoulder lug into a main lug portion toward the interior in the tire width direction, and a sacrificial lug portion toward the exterior in the tire width direction; and low-modulus rubber, for which stress at a given elongation is lower than that of the cap rubber, is arranged at a corner where the contact patch at the main lug portion and a groove side face toward the interior in the tire width direction which forms the narrow groove intersect.
TIRE
A tire comprises a tread portion whose shoulder land part is provided with a narrow circumferential groove having an axially inner wall surface, an axially outer wall surface and a groove bottom including a deepest point. The axially inner wall surface has a radially inner curved portion concaved toward the axially inside, and the axially outer wall surface has a radially inner curved portion concaved toward the axially outside. the radially outer end of the radially inner curved portion of the axially inner wall surface is positioned radially inside the radially outer end of the radially inner curved portion of the axially outer wall surface.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire in the present invention has a narrow groove extending in the tire circumferential direction on a portion closer to a tire equator than a ground contact end, and dividing a shoulder land into a main land close to the tire equator and a sub land close to the ground contact end. An outer sidewall of the narrow groove has: a straight line extending inward in a tire radial direction from an outer circumferential surface of the sub land; a first circular arc smoothly connected to the straight line; and a second circular arc smoothly connected to a groove bottom of the narrow groove. The first circular arc has a center of a circular arc closer to the equator than the outer sidewall. The second circular arc has a center of a circular arc closer to an outside in a tire width direction than the outer sidewall.
TRUCK TIRE WITH TREAD DESIGN FOR REDUCING ABNORMAL WEAR
A heavy truck tire is provided that includes a casing with a central axis, and a rubber tread that has a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is located farther from the central axis in a radial direction than the second layer. The first layer has a lower max tan() than a max tan() of the second layer. The max tan() of the first layer is from 0.06-0.15, and the max tan() of the second layer is from 0.12-0.27. The tire also has a sculptural feature that reduces irregular wear.
PNEUMATIC TIRE WITH GROOVE
A tire comprising a tread portion for contacting the ground and a pair of opposing sidewall portions, the tread portion extending between a pair of shoulders and having an equatorial region in between, the sidewall portions extending essentially in a radial direction from the shoulders, wherein the tread portion comprises next to the shoulder at least one circumferential groove forming a recessed rib, the recessed rib located on the side of the circumferential groove farther away from the equatorial region, said groove has adjacent groove walls with a first groove wall facing away from the equatorial region and a second groove wall facing towards the equatorial region, the second groove wall comprises a protruding portion protruding outwardly away from the equatorial region comprising two diverging regions and in between the diverging regions a non-diverging region, the diverging region on the second groove wall is non-parallel to the first groove wall.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire includes a shoulder portion that constitutes an outer portion of a ground contact surface in a tire width direction. A groove portion connected to the ground contact surface in a tire circumferential direction is formed in the shoulder portion. The groove portion includes a deep groove portion, and a shallow groove portion formed outside in a tire width direction with respect to the deep groove portion and having a small groove depth. The groove depth of the shallow groove portion cyclically increases and decreases in the tire circumferential direction.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A shoulder land portion includes a main body land portion formed between a thin groove extending in a tire circumferential direction on a tire width direction inner side of a ground contact end and a shoulder main groove, and the main body land portion includes a contact region adjacent to the shoulder main groove provided along the tire circumferential direction and a non-contact region provided along the tire circumferential direction between the thin groove and the contact region. The contact region contacts a road surface in a normal load state, and the non-contact region is recessed to a tire radial direction inner side from a tread surface. The non-contact region does not contact the road surface in the normal road state, and when a length of the non-contact region is W1 and a length of the main body land portion both along the tire width direction is Rw, 0.2RwW10.5Rw.
