FISHING ROD HANDLE ASSEMBLY
A fishing rod handle assembly configured to provide increased safety, strength and control and which may be used in combination with standard fishing rods. The fishing rod handle assembly generally includes a handle positioned transverse to the position of the standard fishing rod, such that a fisherman can utilize both hands in a side-by-side orientation for increased control and strength when pulling up on the standard fishing rod and reeling in fish. Further, the fishing rod handle assembly generally includes one or more collars connected to the handle, the one or more collars having splined recesses therein for detachably connecting the standard fishing rod to the fishing rod handle assembly, such that the fishing rod handle assembly firmly grips the standard fishing rod to prevent twisting, but does not damage or break the standard fishing rod.

Heated Fishing Pole Assembly
A heated fishing pole assembly for inhibiting the formation of ice on a fishing pole includes a fishing pole that has a handle, a rod extending away from the handle and a plurality of line guides distributed along the rod. A handle heating element is integrated into the handle of the fishing pole to heat the handle thereby inhibiting the formation of ice on the handle. A rod heating element is integrated into the rod of the fishing pole to heat each of the plurality of line guides thereby inhibiting the formation of ice on the plurality of line guides. A power indicator is integrated into the rod to indicate a power level of each of the handle heating element and the rod heating element.
MULTI-LAYERED GRIP
Disclosed are grips and methods of making grips for use with the handle of an article, and in particular for use with fishing poles and golf clubs. Grips preferably include a multi-layered gripping member and an inner sleeve or mounting body. The gripping member can include an outer layer with a fabric layer coated and preferably saturated by polyurethane. The outer layer can be bonded to an inner layer to form the gripping member which is then attached to the sleeve. The sleeve can be ground from a starting block of material or may be injection molded. Also disclosed are handles including a connector configured to couple to a portion of a fishing pole. Such handles may include a multiple layers and can be selectively removed from the article. Methods are also provided for selectively coupling exchangeable handles to articles including fishing poles.

Handle For A Fishing Pole
A handle for a fishing pole assembly having a fishing pole with a first end and a second end, and a reel attachable to the fishing pole. The handle has a pole coupling subassembly and a handle assembly. The pole coupling subassembly is structurally configured attach to the fishing pole between the first end and the second end thereof, while defining a pole axis. The handle assembly has a base attachment portion fixed to the pole coupling subassembly and a handle member pivotably coupled to the base attachment portion about an axis that is substantially transverse to the pole axis. A method is likewise disclosed.

Fishing rod
A fishing rod that includes an elongated, tapered rod blank at least a portion of which is quadrilateral in cross section, the quadrilateral portion of the rod blank diminishing in cross-sectional area toward a tip end of the rod blank, the quadrilateral portion of the rod blank comprising a sandwich-structured composite of a core disposed between facings, the core less dense than the facings, the quadrilateral portion of rod blank less stiff in a casting direction than transverse to the casting direction; fishing line guides mounted at intervals along the length of the rod blank; a reel seat mounted at the base end of the rod blank; and a handle mounted at the base end of the rod blank adjacent to the reel seat.

LEVERAGE-ENHANCING SUPPORT FOR A FISHING POLE
A support for a fishing pole extends laterally from a longitudinal axis of the fishing pole when the fishing pole is oriented with the reel vertically above or below the fishing pole and a rotational axis of the reel oriented horizontally. The support has an armrest portion configured to contact the arm of a user holding the fishing pole at a spaced location from the fishing pole. In some configurations, the support comprises a frame and the armrest portion comprises a flexible portion having an unsupported portion extending between spaced-apart portions of the frame. In some configurations, the support provides improved access to a hand grip portion of the fishing pole located axially forward of the reel.
