INDEPENDENT WHEEL SUSPENSION FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
Independent wheel suspensions for a motor vehicle are described herein. An example independent wheel suspension includes a link to be pivotably coupled to a vehicle body of the motor vehicle via a first flexible pivot bearing and a second flexible pivot bearing. The first and second flexible pivot bearings form a pivoting axis. The link has a wheel attachment point to which a vehicle wheel is to be coupled. The example independent wheel suspension also includes a spring to be disposed between the link and the vehicle body. The spring is configured to produce a force component on the link that is directed outward along a transverse axis of the motor vehicle and that increases during compression.
SUSPENSION WITH JOUNCE BUMPER BALANCED FOR CASTER CONTROL
A suspension includes a jounce bumper, and a striker. A spring biases the knuckle toward a first position. One of the spring and the jounce bumper is disposed forward of a kingpin axis of the knuckle and the other of the spring and the jounce bumper is disposed rearward of the kingpin axis. When in a first position, the spring is a first spring length. When in a second position, the spring is shorter than in the first position and the jounce bumper contacts the striker. When in a third position, the spring is shorter than in the second position and the jounce bumper is compressed against the striker to be shorter than in the second position. When moving between the second and third positions, the spring and jounce bumper impart moments on the knuckle that approximately balance each other to maintain a desired caster angle.
Longitudinal control arm device of a drivable semi-independent suspension
A trailing arm device (1) of a drivable torsion beam axle (2) is described. The trailing arm device (1) has a housing (5) in which a drive-train (8) can be arranged and is connected to a trailing arm (4). The housing (5), as fitted into position within a vehicle, has a sidewall (11) formed integrally with a central housing region (9) on a side facing toward a wheel. The sidewall delimits a housing interior space (10) that accommodates, at least partially, the drive-train (8). On the side facing away from the wheel, the housing interior space (10) is delimited by at least one cover element (14) that can be detachably connected to the central housing region (9).
Active damper system actuator arrangement
A damper system for a vehicle is provided that includes a damper and actuator. The damper extends longitudinally along a damper axis between first and second damper ends. The actuator is separate and spaced apart from the damper. The actuator extends longitudinally along an actuator axis between first and second actuator ends. The damper and the actuator are arranged next to one another where the actuator axis is spaced from and substantially parallel to the damper axis. The damper and the actuator are positioned within a cylindrical packaging envelope that has a diameter of 300 millimeters or less. The cylindrical packaging envelope is an imaginary cylinder, which may be defined by one or more components of a vehicle's suspension system such as a coil spring or an upper suspension arm. The damper and the actuator are completely contained within the cylindrical packaging envelope.
Skate truck assemblies and associated methods for rear suspension spring compression
A skate truck assembly that engages a lower rear suspension arm during assembly may include a base comprising a track that extends linearly in a translation direction and an articulating truck assembly slidably coupled to the track, the articulating truck assembly being moveable along the track in the translation direction. The articulating truck assembly may include a track receiving carriage that slidingly receives the track and a suspension arm engagement structure having an elongated, longitudinal axis. The suspension arm engagement structure may be operatively connected to the track receiving carriage. The suspension arm engagement structure may rotate relative to the track receiving carriage along a first axis of rotation that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the suspension arm engagement structure.
Connecting rod for a multiple connecting rod axle of a motor vehicle
A connecting rod for a multiple connecting rod axle of a motor vehicle, especially a lower wishbone for a multiple connecting rod rear axle, includes a substantially Y-shaped basic framework with a first arm, the free end region of which has a first seat for linking the connecting rod to an auxiliary frame or a vehicle body, with a second arm, the free end region of which has a second seat for linking the connecting rod to the auxiliary frame rod or the vehicle body, and with a third arm, the free end region of which has a third seat for linking the connecting rod to a wheel carrier. The connecting rod is manufactured in one piece with the seats.
Suspension device
Provided is a semi-trailing suspension device including: a trailing arm that is coupled to a vehicle body in a turnable manner; a trailing bush that is provided between the vehicle body and the trailing arm and pivotally supports the trailing arm in a turnable manner; a lower arm that is coupled to the vehicle body in a turnable manner; a lower arm bush that is provided between the vehicle body and the lower arm and pivotally supports the lower arm in a turnable manner; and a hinge mechanism that couples the trailing arm and the lower arm to each other in a relatively displaceable manner.
Suspension assembly
A suspension assembly for a vehicle may have a first end for pivotal mounting to a structural member of the vehicle and a second end opposite the first end for attachment of a damping arrangement and a stub axle. The suspension assembly may include first and second shell components that are welded together to form a substantially hollow body between the first and second ends.
COIL SPRING, SUSPENSION DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING COIL SPRING
According to an embodiment, a coil spring is formed of a wire which is helically wound, and includes an end turn portion and an effective portion, and a surface of the wire in the end turn portion includes an area which is softer than a surface of the wire in the effective portion.
SUSPENSION DEVICE FOR VEHICLES
A suspension device (rear suspension (10)) for vehicles is provided which includes a damper (40), a shaft (50) pivotably supporting an end of the damper (40), and a bush (60) including a cylindrical elastic member fitted onto the outer circumference of the shaft (50). The axis (C2) of the bush (60) is disposed along a line of intersection between an imaginary first plane (S1) and an imaginary second plane (S2), or along a line parallel to the line of intersection. The first plane (S1) is orthogonal to the axis (C1) of the damper (40) when a stroke position of a wheel (24) is a first position relative to the vehicle body (80) in the vertical direction of a vehicle body (80). The second plane (S2) is orthogonal to the axis (C1) of the damper (40) when the stroke position of the wheel (24) is a second position.
