Arrangement configured to oppose movement of vehicle door

This disclosure relates to a motor vehicle with an arrangement configured to oppose movement of a vehicle door, and a corresponding method. An example motor vehicle includes a body, a door configured to slide relative to the body between an open position and a closed position, and a bracket connected to the door. The bracket includes a slot. Further, a locking arm is mounted to the body, and, when the door is in the closed position, the locking arm is configured to move such that the locking arm is received in the slot.

OPERATING MECHANISM FOR REAR HINGED FULLY SEALED INDEPENDENT SIDE OPERATING DOORS

A vehicle door includes a door panel slidably operable between a secured position within a door aperture and a staging position partially distal from the door aperture. A latch is engaged with a striker path during operation of the door panel between the secured and staging positions, and is selectively disengaged from the striker path to define open and closed positions of the door panel when the door panel is in the staging position.

Door striker assembly

A door striker assembly includes a base plate, a reinforcement plate and a striker wire. The base plate has a first surface and a second surface, with a first opening, and a second opening both extending from the first surface to the second surface. The first surface has an offset portion with the first opening being open to the offset portion. The reinforcement plate is dimensioned to fit within the offset portion of the first surface and has a third opening aligned with the first opening. The striker wire has a first end, a second end and a latch engaging portion located between the first end and the second end. The first end extends through the first opening and the third opening and is non-movably connected to at least one of the reinforcement plate and the base plate. The second end extends through the second opening and is non-movably connected to the base plate.

Doors with adaptive positioning

Doors on a vehicle may be controlled by a door positioning system that moves the doors freely and fluidly relative to the body of the vehicle. The doors may include front and rear doors on each side of the vehicle. The door positioning system may control the movement and positioning of each door using a door mechanism coupled between the door and the body of the vehicle. The door positioning system may determine a position or path of motion for each door based on sensor data and user input. The door positioning system may issue corresponding control signals to actuators in the door mechanism to position the door accordingly. For example, the front door may slide open at an angle to accommodate an angled tire. Front and rear doors may open in opposite directions to create a large, unobstructed space for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle.

SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A sliding door system for a vehicle includes a door frame defining a door opening and a sliding door covering at least a portion of the door opening in a closed position. An upper door slide assembly and a lower door slide assembly collectively interconnect the sliding door to the door frame and each are configured to slide the sliding door relative to the door frame from the closed position to an open position to dispose the sliding door either forward or rearward of the door opening. The lower door slide assembly includes a lower track extending along the sliding door and a lower hinge assembly pivotably connected to the door frame and slideably mated with the lower track for effectuating pivoting and sliding movement of the sliding door between the open and closed positions.

Passenger seats and doors for an autonomous vehicle

An autonomous can include one or more configurable passenger seats to accommodate a plurality of different seating configurations. For instance, the one or more passenger seats can include a passenger seat defining a seating orientation. The passenger seat can be configurable in a first configuration in which the seating orientation is directed towards a forward end of the autonomous vehicle and a second configuration in which the seating orientation is directed towards a rear end of the autonomous vehicle. The passenger seat can include a seatback rotatable about a pivot point on a base of the passenger seat to switch between the first configuration and the second configuration. Alternatively, or additionally, the autonomous vehicle can include a door assembly pivotably fixed to a vehicle body of the autonomous vehicle such that a swept path of the door assembly when moving between an open position and a closed position is reduced.

Striker for motor vehicle door

A striker on a lower part of a doorway of a vehicle body includes: first and second engagement parts on a metal base and fixed to the vehicle body to be apart from each other to respectively engage with a door latch device on a lower part of a door capable of closing the doorway and a dislocation prevention part adjacent the door latch device; a pair of front and rear engagement pieces on a vehicle interior side of the base respectively opposite the first and second engagement parts; a reinforcing piece between the first and second engagement pieces; and an elastic body fixed to the base by the first and second engagement pieces and the reinforcing piece. The elastic body has a convex portion that abuts against an inner panel of the door when the door is closed. The convex portion is supported by the reinforcing piece.

Rocker assembly for autonomous vehicle

An autonomous vehicle including a body defining a door opening for a front door and a rear door. The doors are attached to the body a track that guides the doors between an open position and a closed position. A rocker assembly includes an outer rocker panel defining a slot, an inner rocker panel attached to the outer rocker panel, and an insert including an upper tube and a lower tube disposed between the outer rocker panel and the inner rocker panel. The tubes extend between a front end and a rear end of the rocker assembly, a track is assembled between the upper and lower tubes, and the slot in the outer rocker panel provides access to the track for brackets that have rollers that engage the track. The brackets are attached to the doors.

Coach door of vehicle openable and closable regardless of order

A coach door of a vehicle is provided. The door includes a hinge assembly that has a first hinge hinged to a vehicle body and a second hinge hinged to the first hinge and engaged with a rear end of a rear door. An opening start device rotates the rear end of the rear door to the outside of the vehicle at an early stage of opening of the rear door and a closing end device rotates the rear end of the rear door to the inside of the vehicle at a last stage of closing of the rear door. A guide unit is configured to guide a front end of the rear door to move the front end of the rear door in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle at the initial stage of opening of the rear door and the last stage of closing of the rear door.
