Aircraft having versatile door systems

A versatile door system for an aircraft includes forward and aft door assemblies. The forward door assembly includes a forward hingeable door hingeably coupled to the airframe proximate a forward location of an aircraft opening and a forward slidable door slidably coupled to the forward hingeable door. The aft door assembly includes an aft hingeable door hingeably coupled to the airframe proximate an aft location of the aircraft opening and an aft slidable door slidably coupled to the aft hingeable door. In a closed configuration, the forward hingeable door, the forward slidable door, the aft hingeable door and the aft slidable door are securably disposed within the aircraft opening. In operation, the forward hingeable door, the forward slidable door, the aft hingeable door and the aft slidable door are individually operable to collectively provide access to a selectable width of the aircraft opening.

DOOR CONNECTING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A door connecting device for a vehicle to which opposite swing doors including a rear door and a front door is applied, the opposite swing doors being configured to be opened or closed by a relative movement between the rear door and the front door, includes a lever rotatably mounted on one of the front door and the rear door and configured to be rotated by the relative movement between the rear door and the front door; a catcher disposed on one of the front door and the rear door and configured to rotate in conjunction with a rotation of the lever; and a cable connecting the lever and the catcher and configured to transmit a rotation force caused by the relative movement to the catcher when the lever rotates.

DOOR CONNECTING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A door connecting device for a vehicle to which opposite swing doors including a rear door and a front door is applied, the opposite swing doors being configured to be opened or closed by a relative movement between the rear door and the front door, includes a damper disposed on one of the front door and the rear door and configured to move forward or rearward while coming into contact with an end portion of the other of the rear door and the front door when the rear door and the front door are closed; a stopper disposed on the one of the front door and the rear door and configured to be moved forward or rearward by a forward movement or a rearward movement of the damper; and a lever connecting the damper and the stopper and configured to mediate a forward movement or a rearward movement of the stopper when the damper moves forward or rearward thereof.

SIDE IMPACT RESTRAINT PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A side impact restraint protection system for a vehicle includes first and second side safety structures and first and second structural elements of a vehicle body structure. The first and second side safety structures are respectively connected to a first side door and a second side door. The first and second side doors are arranged to cover a common single door opening of the vehicle body structure. The first structural element is in a position in front of the door opening and the second structural element is in a position behind the door opening in a longitudinal direction. In the closed door position, the first and second side safety structures are releasably connected to each other via a connecting device, and the first and second side safety structures are respectively connected to the first and second structural elements via a first connection member and a second connection member.

DOOR OPENING PREVENTION SYSTEM FOR MOTOR VEHICLES

A system for preventing sliding vehicle doors from opening during collisions is disclosed. The system includes at least one roller assembly of a sliding door connected to a guiderail on a vehicle body. The roller assembly includes a protruding member that interfaces with a protrusion engaging member attached to the vehicle body. During normal operation, the protruding member clears the protrusion engaging member. During a collision in which the sliding door is pushed laterally outwards, the protruding member contacts the protrusion engaging member and stops the outward motion of the sliding door. In some cases, a vehicle includes corresponding protruding members and protrusion engaging members for both an upper roller assembly and a lower roller assembly of a sliding door.

Vehicle door reinforcement assembly

An assembly includes a vehicle body including a door opening and a first member and a second member each supported by the vehicle body. The first member and the second member are rotatable relative to each other and relative to the vehicle body across the door opening from an undeployed position to deployed position. The first member and the second member engage each other in the deployed position.

Doors with Adaptive Positioning

Doors on a vehicle may be controlled by a door positioning system that moves the doors freely and fluidly relative to the body of the vehicle. The doors may include front and rear doors on each side of the vehicle. The door positioning system may control the movement and positioning of each door using a door mechanism coupled between the door and the body of the vehicle. The door positioning system may determine a position or path of motion for each door based on sensor data and user input. The door positioning system may issue corresponding control signals to actuators in the door mechanism to position the door accordingly. For example, the front door may slide open at an angle to accommodate an angled tire. Front and rear doors may open in opposite directions to create a large, unobstructed space for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle.

Vehicle door structure

A vehicle door structure includes: a door having a door body defining a closed section with a door inner panel and a door outer panel; an engaging member configured to hold the door in a closed and stopped state by engaging with an engaged member; and a load transmitting member configured to, when a load in a direction perpendicular to a design surface on a vehicle cabin outer side of the door outer panel is input, transmit the load toward a base end side of the engaging member and apply a load to the base end side of the engaging member in an engagement direction of the engaging member with the engaged member.

Modular individually operable vehicle door

A vehicle door system includes a door with a door module and a hinge module. The hinge module is attached to the vehicle body. The door module is attached to the hinge module. The hinge module includes a hinge bracket attached to the vehicle body, and a pair of arms extending from the hinge bracket that can pivot relative to the hinge bracket and a cross brace attached at the ends of the arms. The door module attaches to the cross brace. The door module moves along with the cross brace, which moves along with the arms as they pivot relative to the hinge bracket. The door module includes a latch mechanism at a bottom edge, with the latch mechanism engaging with the vehicle body. A lateral edge of the door may seal against a lateral edge of the second door without a latch interface.

Detachable pillar assembly for vehicle

A vehicle assembly includes a front door of a vehicle, a detachable pillar assembly, and a rear door that is aft the front door along a longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The rear door is configured to selectively pivotably couple to the detachable pillar assembly. A method of providing an opening to a vehicle includes detaching a pillar assembly from a structure of a vehicle, and pivoting a rear door of a vehicle together with the pillar assembly from a closed position to an open position. The rear door pivots relative to the pillar assembly when the pillar assembly is latched to the vehicle.
