Open bed vehicle cover and storage system
Technologies and implementations related to open bed vehicle cover and storage systems are generally disclosed.
COVER FOR A UTILITY VEHICLE
A cover for the deck of a utility vehicle may be formed from a single shell of thermoplastics material and reinforced with an extrusion that, by virtue of being formed in aluminum or another suitable material, has a lower co-efficient of expansion relative to the shell. The two parts of the cover, shell and extrusion, may be secured in such a way that there can be some degree of independent movement between them. Effectively, limited thermal expansion of the shell is allowed without overly compromising the connection between it and the aluminum extrusion. A flexible extrusion may connect the cover to the utility vehicle at one end and act as a hinge such that as it is raised, it is not only displaced in a vertical orientation, but also in a horizontal direction.
DEPLOYABLE AERODYNAMIC BED COVER SYSTEM
An active bed cover system having at least one deployable panel and at least one actuator. The deployable panel extends and retracts based on vehicle requirements and provides reduction in vehicle drag, thereby reducing emissions and improving fuel economy. Additionally, it allows for the system to retract within the tailgate and/or cargo bed liner allowing for access to the bed and improved usability and aesthetics. The active bed cover provides a fully deployable system with object detection, declutching of the actuator to help prevent damage, and communication with the vehicle to determine proper deployment and function.
Tonneau trunk
A trunk for a bed of a truck is disclosed wherein the trunk provides an isolated enclosed space in an area of the truck bed. The trunk is configurable into different configurations and traversable between front and back positions in order to make best use of the bed of the truck. Moreover, the trunk may be configured and traversed easily so that one without great strength may still manipulate the trunk to make full use of the truck bed.

SLAM LATCH FOR TOOL BOX
A slam type locking mechanism is described. The locking mechanism allows a storage container with the locking mechanism to be slammed shut in a single motion. The operator may slam the lid or door to the container using a single hand that is only pressing or pushing the lid or door closed. The slam type locking mechanism includes a lock having a lock housing, a handle, and a spring loading mechanism. The handle is rotatably engaged to the spring loading mechanism. The rods are in a rotational engagement with the lock, wherein the rods have an offset that interacts with a striker on the container or lid in a locking relationship.
Stowable truck bed cover and height extender
A truck bed cover and extender includes two panel assemblies each attached to the inside of one of the bed walls. A panel assembly includes one or more panels attached to a frame. Each assembly is configured to move through three positions: a stowed position, wherein the assembly is stowed inside the truck bed substantially against the wall to which it is attached; a horizontal position, wherein the assembly is substantially horizontal and wherein the assemblies cooperate to form a partial or complete cover of the bed's cargo area; and an extended position, wherein the assembly substantially vertical, extending above the truck bed.
TRUCK BED COVER ASSEMBLIES WITH SLIDING HINGE PANELS
A sliding mount assembly for use with a truck bed cover that includes a first panel attached to a second panel at a pivot axis includes a first mounting bracket that is configured to mount to the first panel and a second mounting bracket that is configured to mount to the second panel. A sliding rail is configured to connect to the first mounting bracket and the second mounting bracket such that the sliding rail spans the pivot axis between the first panel and the second panel. The sliding rail includes a track that extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction that is configured to slidably receive a sliding flange of the second mounting bracket such that the sliding flange slides within the track as the second panel is pivoted relative to the first panel to a raised position.
Folding tonneau cover having secured flexible hinge
A folding tonneau cover apparatus including a cover assembly and a support frame assembly. The cover assembly having a plurality of rigid panels interconnected in series by a series of flexible hinges. Elongated support members having hinge support flanges help to secure the flexible hinges to the rigid panels. In preferred embodiments, the support flanges of the elongated support members cooperate with the underside of the respective rigid panels to which the support members are secured, to form a partial enclosure within which a side portion of the respective flexible hinge is secured. The cover assembly is secured to the support frame assembly to cover a cargo box of a pickup truck by a plurality of locking members when the support frame assembly is secured to sidewalls of the cargo box. Methods of making a tonneau cover apparatus and methods of folding and unfolding the cover assembly are also disclosed.
SOLAR PICKUP TRUCK BED COVER WITH LOCK BOLT STRUCTURE
The invention discloses a rotating shaft structure including a rotating shaft, a hinge assembly and an intermediate rubber strip. There are two such rotating shafts, and the rotating shafts comprise a plate connecting frame, a rotating cavity, and a rubber strip insertion portion. The plate connecting frame is used for connecting plates, the rotating cavity is rotationally connected to the hinge assembly, and the rubber strip insertion portion is used for connecting the intermediate rubber strip. The hinge assembly includes a connecting bracket, both ends of which are connected to a hinge rotating head, the hinge rotating head is rotationally connected to the rotating cavity.
