PRESSURE RELIEF ASSEMBLY AND A VALVE ASSEMBLY THAT USES THE PRESSURE RELIEF ASSEMBLY
A pressure relief assembly includes a plurality of valve components and a cap configured to house the valve components. The cap includes a ring having a retaining portion. The pressure relief assembly includes a sensor apparatus coupled to the cap via the ring. The sensor apparatus is configured to sense whether a predetermined pressure threshold is reached. The valve components operate to relieve pressure when the predetermined pressure threshold is reached. The sensor apparatus includes a retaining portion engaging the retaining portion of the ring. A valve assembly includes a first valve apparatus and the pressure relief assembly configured to bypass the first valve apparatus. The valve assembly includes a main housing that surrounds the first valve apparatus and the pressure relief assembly. The main housing defines an aperture in which the cap of the pressure relief assembly is at least partially disposed in the aperture.
Straddled vehicle
A vehicle includes at least one of an electric vent valve configured to open and close an outside-air-introduction passage of a canister or an electric suction pump configured to suck gas in a gas passage through which the gas flows. The canister and at least one of the vent valve or the suction pump are disposed such that at least one of a virtual-left-right-center plane that includes a center in a left-right direction and is perpendicular to the left-right direction, a virtual-front-rear-center plane that includes a center in a front-rear direction and is perpendicular to the front-rear direction, or a virtual-up-down-center plane that includes a center in an up-down direction and is perpendicular to the up-down direction is located between a gravity center of the canister and at least one of a gravity center of the vent valve or a gravity center of the suction pump.
Fuel vapor emission control device with leak neutralisation
A fuel vapor emissions control device includes: —an absorbent filter; —a purge circuit including: a pump equipped with an intake and with a delivery outlet; an upstream duct; and a downstream duct. The pump includes an intake chamber into which the intake opens. The upstream duct is connected by one of its ends to the absorbent filter and via the other of its ends opens into the intake chamber. The downstream duct includes a double tubular wall defining two separate conduits.
Systems and methods for coordinating remote fuel delivery to vehicles
Methods and systems are provided for conducting remote refueling events of a passenger vehicle, and for coordinating said remote refueling events with a fuel tank fill level prior to the remote refueling event, a loading state of a fuel vapor storage device, and current and predicted fuel tank pressure. In one example, an amount of fuel that can be added to the fuel tank without overwhelming a capacity of the fuel vapor storage device is increased responsive to scheduling the remote refueling event to take place at a time when the fuel tank is at a negative pressure, thus resulting in partial purge of the fuel vapor storage device prior to commencing refueling. In this way, environmentally friendly refueling events may be enabled, thus reducing the potential for undesired evaporative emissions during refueling events.
Systems and methods for conducting vehicle evaporative emissions test diagnostic procedures
Methods and systems are provided for conducting diagnostics to indicate whether a fuel system and/or an evaporative emissions system of a vehicle has a source of undesired evaporative emissions, or not. A method comprises conducting such a diagnostic via evacuating the fuel system to a target vacuum, then sealing the fuel system from atmosphere and monitoring a pressure bleed-up in the fuel system, and dynamically adjusting a pressure bleed-up threshold responsive to one or more conditions that impact the pressure bleed-up during the diagnostic, and indicating undesired evaporative emissions responsive to the pressure bleed-up reaching the adjusted pressure bleed-up threshold. In this way, interpretation of the results of such a diagnostic may be more robust, completion rates may improve, and engine operation may be improved.
Fuel vapor processing apparatus
This disclosure relates to a separation apparatus for use in a fuel emission control system. The separation apparatus includes a tube being disposed within a conduit of the fuel emission control system and a membrane being disposed within the tube. The tube includes an introduction port for introducing a fuel vapor generated in a fuel tank. The disposition of the membrane increases turbulence of the fuel vapor in the tube and separates the fuel vapor into a fuel-rich mixture and a fuel-lean mixture. The tube further includes a discharge port for discharging the fuel-rich mixture.
FUEL TANK AND PUMP SYSTEM
An in-tank fuel pump assembly and mounting system is disclosed which may be configured for mounting inside a fuel tank. The assembly includes a pump housing, pump mounted to the housing, and pressure relief valve. The housing may comprise upper and lower pump housing units coupled together. The upper housing unit is configured for mounting to a tank opening, which in one implementation may be the fuel fill opening. The lower housing unit extends into the tank to approximately the bottom of the tank. A fuel fill fluid pathway is created through the housing for adding fuel to the tank while the pump assembly remains in situ. The upper housing unit may include a removable fuel cap. The pump housing may include an integral vapor trap.
Canister
A canister includes a plurality of activated carbon layers for adsorbing vaporized fuel and a purge pump for introducing purge air into the canister to cause purge gas containing the vaporized fuel to flow out of the canister. At least a part of the purge pump is placed in the chamber defined between the activated carbon layers.
Systems and methods for vehicle fuel system and evaporative emissions system diagnostics
Methods and systems are provided for a fuel system of a hybrid vehicle. In one example, a system may include a fuel tank selectively fluidly coupled to a fuel vapor canister via a first conduit that includes a fuel tank isolation valve and via a second conduit that includes a tank pressure control valve and a pump. In one example, the pump is a vacuum pump.
Fuel tank pressure regulator
A fuel tank vent valve includes a venting apparatus for regulating discharge of fuel vapor from a fuel tank and admission of outside air into a fuel tank. The vent valve is used to regulate pressure in a fuel tank.
