OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE OF FUEL TANK
In a housing surrounding a nozzle insertion passage, a first opening open to the atmosphere is provided, and in a cover main body in which the housing is incorporated, a nozzle insertion port and a second opening which is opposite the first opening and open to the atmosphere is provided. Moreover, in the recess wall of a drainage port formation member fitted to the first opening, a recess which is recessed on the side of the first opening is formed so as to be continuous with the second opening, and a drainage port is provided. A drainage valve is held in the recess with respect to the recess wall so as to open and close the drainage port by turning of the valve main body about the turning shaft serving as a base point.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING VEHICLE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS
Methods and systems are provided for reducing an amount of fuel vapors that are routed to a fuel vapor storage canister during a refueling event, in response to an indication that a fuel dispenser that is dispensing fuel to a fuel tank is underperforming. In one example, a method comprises increasing a pressure in the fuel tank responsive to an indication that the fuel dispenser is dispensing fuel at a first rate that is at least a threshold amount below a second rate, without changing the first rate at which the fuel dispenser is dispensing the fuel. In this way, fuel vapor recirculation may be improved and an amount of fuel vapors routed to the canister reduced, which may thus reduce opportunities for release of undesired evaporative emissions to atmosphere.
Vent flow guide for fill head
An exemplary system for improving gaseous venting from a fluid storage vessel includes a hollow member configured to receive a fuel nozzle, the fuel nozzle having an aspirate opening, a vent line fluidly connecting the fluid storage vessel and the hollow member, and a flow guide device fluidly connected to the hollow member and the vent line. The flow guide device includes a flow guide chamber having an inlet, a plurality of sidewalls, and an outlet, and a plurality of directional blades formed within the flow guide chamber. The plurality of directional blades direct a fluid flow through the flow guide chamber and the hollow member toward the aspirate opening of the fuel nozzle.
Methods and systems for aging a fuel tank in a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle
Methods and systems are provided for aging a new plastic fuel tank in a vehicle. In one example, during a plug-in event to recharge a battery of the vehicle, the fuel tank is isolated and the fuel pump is actuated to agitate fuel within the tank and increase fuel vapors until the plastic fuel tank becomes aged to a predetermined degree by fuel vapors generated therein. In this manner, the fuel tank is aged more rapidly, resulting in more accurate fuel level readings and less noise and vibration.
Fuel system for a motor vehicle
A fuel system for a motor vehicle includes a fuel tank, a filling tube closable by a tank cover; a pressure sensor for measuring a pressure in the fuel tank; an activated carbon filter, a tank isolation valve arranged between the fuel tank and the activated carbon filter, and a control for opening and closing the tank isolation valve, wherein the control opens the tank isolation valve in response to receiving input indicating an intent to refuel and closes the opened tank isolation valve again when the pressure in the fuel tank measured by the pressure sensor falls below a predetermined first pressure threshold value, wherein the control subsequent to the closing of the tank isolation valve opening the closed tank isolation valve again when the pressure in the fuel tank measured by the pressure sensor exceeds the predetermined first pressure threshold value and/or exceeds a predetermined second pressure threshold value, which is higher than the predetermined first pressure threshold value.
Fuel supply apparatus
A fuel supply apparatus comprises a filler neck body including a fuel passage-forming structure configured to form a fuel passage and a fuel vapor port branched off from the fuel passage-forming structure; and a nozzle guide located inside of the filler neck body and formed in a tubular shape. A vapor flow path is formed to be continuous with the fuel vapor port and introduce fuel vapor flowing into the fuel vapor port in a tank direction. The configuration of the fuel supply apparatus enables the fuel vapor circulated from a fuel tank to the fuel supply apparatus to smoothly join with the flow of liquid fuel supplied from a fueling nozzle.
Fuel supply device
A fuel supply device (FS) includes a filler neck (10) that includes a nozzle guiding path that guides a fuel supply nozzle (FN), and a fuel passage that is continuous to the nozzle guiding path on a downstream side of the fuel passage, through which fuel that has been discharged from the fuel supply nozzle (FN) passes; a fuel vapor port (23) located outside of the filler neck (10) that has a through hole (23H) that communicates with the fuel passage (11Pd); and a vapor introduction body (70) that guides the fuel vapor from the fuel vapor port to the fuel passage (11Pd). The vapor introduction body (70) includes a within-through-hole support (71) that is inserted into and held in the through hole (23H), and includes a vapor passage (71a) along the through hole (23H), and a changing member (72) that faces an opening of the vapor passage (71a) on a side of the fuel passage (11Pd), and is configured to change a direction of flow of the fuel vapor that passes through the vapor passage (71a) to the side of the fuel passage (71a). The vicinity of the fuel vapor port in the filler neck is configured compactly.
Integrated fuel-mixing prevention device for diesel vehicle
Disclosed herein is an integrated fuel mixing prevention device for a diesel vehicle, in which a diesel filler neck and a urea filler neck are integrated with each other to prevent fuel from mixing, allowing only a diesel fuel filling gun to be inserted into a fuel inlet when a diesel fuel filling mode is selected and allowing only a urea filling gun to be inserted into the fuel inlet when a urea filling mode is selected, which may prevent a fuel mixing an accident caused by incorrect replenishment.
Pipe holder
A pipe holder for holding a pipe member at a vehicle body comprises a metallic member including a metallic clamp part that grasps and holds a portion of a fueling pipe to which a protection member is attached, and a metallic fixing part with a metallic engagement pawl part; and a resin clamp that, surrounds and holds the fueling pipe in a peripheral direction with the fueling pipe being grasped by the metallic member. The resin clamp comprises: a first resin member including a first clamp part; and a second resin member including a second clamp part facing the first clamp part and a resin fixing part with a resin engagement pawl part. The metallic engagement pawl part and the resin engagement pawl part are overlaid on each other to form an engagement unit. The engagement unit is engaged with an engagement opening of the vehicle body. When the engagement unit and the engagement opening are in engagement, a vertical lower end of a portion of the metallic engagement pawl part inserted into the engagement opening is located below a lower end of the engagement opening.
