10457267 · 2019-10-29 · ·

A controller controls a valve device for opening and closing of a passage to control a flow of evaporative fuel evaporating and flowing from a fuel tank. The valve device includes a valve body housed in the passage to open and close the passage, a biasing member biasing the valve body to close the passage, and a driver driving the valve body to open the fuel passage. The controller includes a detector detecting load of the driver and a determiner to determine the position of the valve body. The determiner determines that the passage is open when a magnitude of the change of the driver load is equal to or greater than a threshold value. The controller accurately detects an open valve position without detecting an internal pressure change of the fuel tank.

FUEL SUPPLY DEVICE

A fuel supply device includes a valve body and a filter unit accommodating an air filter and a valve cap are attached to a tubular portion provided on a side surface of an inlet pipe. When a fuel tank has a negative pressure, the valve body opens and the negative pressure is eliminated by clean atmospheric air introduction. A projection portion is provided on the filter unit side of the valve body. Accordingly, attachment of the valve body into the tubular portion and attachment of the tubular portion and the filter unit are reliably performed, the reliability of valve body opening and closing is improved, and attachment workability is improved.

Valve assembly for a fuel tank

A valve assembly for a fuel tank includes a cage having a seat that defines an aperture and a spring latch that holds a poppet in an intermediate-open position, which spaces the poppet from a seat to allow fluid communication through an aperture. A method of operating a valve assembly due to a first-time fueling event is disclosed.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRESSURE RELEASE IN A LIQUID GAS FUEL VOLUME, A LIQUID GAS FUEL VOLUME, AND A VEHICLE COMPRISING THE LIQUID GAS FUEL VOLUME

A computer-implemented method for controlling pressure release in a liquid gas fuel volume in a vehicle, the liquid gas fuel volume being arranged with a control unit and a pressure release valve configured to automatically ventilate gas to an external environment when a pressure in the liquid gas fuel volume exceeds a predetermined ventilation set point. The method comprises obtaining by the control unit data, determining by the control unit a refueling pressure set point for the liquid gas fuel volume based on the obtained data, and at a subsequent refueling operation, communicating the refueling pressure set point as a maximum pressure threshold to be used when refueling the liquid gas fuel volume. A control unit to control pressure release according to the method, a computer program, a computer-readable medium, a liquid fuel gas volume arranged with the control unit, and a vehicle comprising the liquid fuel gas volume.

A METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING TIME DATA RELATING TO A NON-COMBUSTION OUTLET PROCESS OF A FUEL GAS FROM A GAS TANK AT A VEHICLE

The present invention relates to a method, system, vehicle, and computer program product for determining time data relating to a non-combustion outlet process of a fuel gas from a gas tank associated with a vehicle. The method comprises providing a model for the state of fuel gas in the gas tank. The method further comprises determining time data relating to the outlet process of the fuel gas based on the model.

EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS ISOLATION MODULE CAM SYSTEM

An evaporative emissions isolation module system configured to manage venting on a fuel tank system is disclosed. The isolation module system includes a carbon canister, a multi-valve assembly and a controller. The carbon canister is adapted to collect fuel vapor emitted by the fuel tank and to subsequently release the fuel vapor to the engine. The multi-valve assembly includes a motor drive that rotates a camshaft having at least a first cam and a second cam housed in a manifold. The multi-valve assembly has a first valve and a second valve. The first valve selectively fluidly connects the fuel tank and the carbon canister. The second valve fluidly connects the carbon canister with a vent port defined in the manifold that vents to atmosphere. The controller sends signals to the multi-valve assembly based on operating conditions to open and close at least one of the first and second valves.

VALVE ASSEMBLY

A valve assembly includes a valve body and a seat defining an outlet. The valve assembly also includes a float disposed inside the valve body and is movable between a first position and a second position relative to the valve body. The valve assembly further includes a support coupled to the float and is movable with the float between the first and second positions. The valve assembly also includes a sealing member attached to the support and has an engagement portion spaced from the seat when the float is in the first position and engaging the seat when the float is in the second position.

Fuel filling apparatus and method for bi-fuel vehicle

A fuel filling apparatus and method for a bi-fuel vehicle using both gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel are provided to an LPG fuel tank. The fuel filling apparatus and method are capable of temporarily burning a portion of LPG fuel after collecting a fuel portion, using a gasoline fuel tank and a canister, when the internal pressure of the LPG fuel tank in the bi-fuel vehicle is equal to or greater than an LPG filling pressure of a filling gun. Additionally, the internal pressure of the LPG fuel tank is decreased to a level below the LPG filling pressure of the filling gun, thereby achieving smoother LPG fuel filling of the LPG fuel tank by the filling gun.

10328790 · 2019-06-25 · ·

A safety arrangement for a DME fuel tank of a vehicle, adapted to release an excessive pressure from the fuel tank, including a spring-loaded pressure release valve adapted to open at a predefined pressure level, where the safety arrangement further includes a housing mounted on the fuel tank and having an outer opening closed by a lid, where the pressure release valve is arranged in the housing and where the housing is provided with an outlet pipe having an outlet opening, and where the lid is adapted to melt at a predefined temperature, thereby allowing gas to exit the pressure release valve through the outer opening of the housing when the pressure release valve is open and the lid has melted. A small gas leakage caused by an excessive pressure can be discharged downwards through the outlet pipe and outlet opening towards the ground, and a large gas leakage, caused by e.g. a fire, can be discharged outwards from the fuel tank, away from the fire.
