Baby alert car seat alarm—smart car seat

The Baby Alert Car Seat AlarmSmart Car Seat, is a device or smart car seat that detects the presence of a baby or child placed, or secured in a car seat, within the vehicle, before and after the driver of the vehicle has reached his/her destination; and, after the ignition is turned off, alerts the driver of the vehicle that the baby or child remains place or secured in a car seat within the vehicle; or, once the baby or child is placed, or secured in a car seat, within the vehicle, if the ignition is not turned on within a preset time, the Baby Alert Car Seat AlarmSmart Car Seat will alert the driver of the vehicle that a baby or child remains placed or secured in a car seat within the vehicle.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat is adapted to be moved relative to a floor of a vehicle. The seat includes a seat bottom that can be moved relative to the floor and a seat back that can be moved relative to the seat bottom.

Occupant-recognition system for vehicle seat

A vehicle seat includes a seat bottom and a seat back. The seat back is coupled to the seat bottom and arranged to extend in an upward direction away from the seat bottom. The vehicle seat further includes an electronics system.

Vehicle seating system with seat occupant vital sign monitoring

A vehicle seating system includes a vehicle seat, piezoelectric sensors individually positioned at respective locations within the seat corresponding to anatomical locations of a person sitting in the seat, and a controller. The sensors to generate electrical signals in response to mechanical stress applied on the sensors from biologically motivated force inputs of the person. The controller to detect from the electrical signals generated by the sensors biometric information of the person corresponding to the biologically motivated force inputs of the person.

Deactivating or disabling various vehicle systems and/or components when vehicle operates in an autonomous mode

A computing system for a vehicle is provided. The computing system includes one or more processors for controlling operation of the computing system, and a memory for storing data and program instructions usable by the one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to determine if the vehicle is operating with at least one occupant inside the vehicle. If the vehicle is operating without at least one occupant inside the vehicle, the system may control the vehicle so as to disable and/or deactivate selected ones of driver-usage systems/components and passenger-usage systems/components.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING MOVEMENT OF AN OCCUPANT SEATED IN A VEHICLE

A proximity detection system for detecting motion and proximity of an occupant seated in a vehicle. The system includes a sensing electrode located proximate to the occupant and configured to transmit a signal representative of a current in the sensing electrode. The system includes a receiver including a controller and coupled to an antenna. The receiver is configured to detect a change in the transmitted signal received by the antenna based on the proximity of the occupant. The receiver is configured to determine the presence of the occupant based on the amplitude of the signal received by the antenna and the rate change of the amplitude of the signal received by the antenna. The receiver is configured to generate a control signal to change a state of a vehicle component when at least one of the amplitude and the rate of change of the amplitude exceed a predetermined threshold.

An autonomous driving vehicle including a wireless communication unit configured to receive a location of an external terminal having requested the autonomous driving vehicle; and a processor configured to perform autonomous driving of the autonomous driving vehicle to a first destination corresponding to the location of the external terminal; detect a person at the first destination getting into the autonomous driving vehicle; in response to the detected person getting into the autonomous driving vehicle satisfying an autonomous driving condition, perform the autonomous driving to a second destination requested by the external terminal; and in response to the detected person getting into the autonomous driving vehicle not satisfying the autonomous driving condition, maintain a stopped state of the autonomous driving vehicle at the first destination.

Parked vehicle interior lifeform recognition

A dongle that may be plugged into an On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) port of a vehicle and provide notification if a human or animal is left within a parked car. The dongle accesses a first sensor from the vehicle's communication system and a second sensor from within the dongle. If data from the first and second sensors exceeds predetermined threshold values programmed into the dongle's memory, then the dongle sends out a response signal. The response signal may be sent to an owner's cellular phone or to a 911 dispatch center. Additional sensors within the vehicle, or placed within the dongle, may also be used to verify the presence of a human or animal left within the parked vehicle.

Systems and techniques are described herein for detecting a state of presence of a given object in a vehicle. In aspects, techniques include processing data received over time from various devices in the vehicle to determine a set of accumulated scores. The data includes parameters indicative of a presence or absence of a detected object in the vehicle. Further, the processing may be effective to determine a set of accumulated scores. The techniques further include determining an object-related confidence value representing a likelihood that the detected object is present in the vehicle, based on the set of accumulated scores, and then comparing the object-related confidence value to a predetermined threshold. The comparison is sufficient to detect the presence of the detected object in the vehicle if the object-related confidence value exceeds the predetermined threshold.

Vehicle seat with monitoring system

A seat comprising a backrest; a seating portion connected to the backrest; and at least one measurement area defined on the backrest and/or on the seating portion, the at least one measurement area comprising at least one interdigital capacitive sensor capable of measuring a distance or a movement of a user occupying the seat.
